Free to loving home

Cat, name is “Chevy”

Male, 4 years old (as of May). Gray/white. American short hair. Declawed in front. Neutered. He is approximately 14 pounds as of his last vet checkup. Up to date on vet/shots. May be able to provide vet records upon request. Loves males, takes awhile to warm up to females. He has been the only pet, so it is unknown how he will be around other cats/dogs. Not much experience around babies/young children. Very shy at first but will warm up to you in his own time. Will come to your home with all supplies: Food, litter, dishes, litter box, treats, catnip, scratching posts, bed, toys, shampoo, travel cage, etc.

Loves to sit on the back of the couch or on your lap once he gets to know you. Loves to look out the window and listen to the birds if the windows are open. Sleeps a lot during the day but will interact with you if you have a laser pointer or treats. He is a sweet cat and keeps to himself, but will crawl up on your lap when he wants attention. He loves being in the office to keep you company when you are working :-) He is an indoor pet, not much experience outside except being in the car (to go to the vet).

Owner (roommate) is moving and cannot take him and we are unable to keep him as well. All shelters in the area are full with a waiting list. Will send a picture upon request. Can arrange transportation or meet halfway to deliver him as he is located in WI (would prefer he stay in WI just to make transport easier). We have asked everyone we know and really need him to go to a loving home as soon as possible. Please reply if you or someone you know would love to have him as your pet or if you have any questions. He is available any time.

I worked at a vet's clinic, and we had quite a few adoptions that way, including 2 of my own unexpected kittens (didn't realize the stray we took in was pregnant; heck, we thought "Sylvester" was boy!). Worth a try. Good luck!

Have you thought about posting this on FB (if you haven't already). That's where I got my second cat a few months ago. There are always ads up looking for homes for cats. Good luck.

I've already texted, emailed, asked in person, tell your friend to tell your friend kinda thing. I also have work email, Myspace, and Facebook. Tried them all except Craigslist. Good idea. It's hard to find a home for a cat. They either are allergic or can't have them or don't want them or already have one themselves. When our house is empty, he will literally be homeless. The shelters have waiting lists and charge to surrender them. But I will try asking his vet too. Thanks again for the ideas.

Going to work at the local nursing home (50 residents) in the evening to help with activities and keep them interested in things. They have not had activity in a couple months as there was no one to do it, and they have made a new position, and I am it. Anyone use Walk at Home videos? Just started the ones from Leslie Sansone and am at the brisk 2 mile (half houir) walk. In my early 60s. It looks like they go up to 5 mile walks and also have some with pop music. Wondering if anyone has had success losing weight by walking. My SIL's mom lost 25 pounds walking outdoors and she is in her late 70s. Don't know what diet changes she made, if any. Also saw some free ones on our cable network, but have not tried those.
