I have a plain old garden variety Rat Terrier. Best known as Teddy Roosevelt's favorite, the RCA dog, and a common dog on farms because they're such good little ratters.
But we saw two "Designer Dogs" last week that were so funny. One was a Chug (Chihuahua and Pug combination) and the other two were Puggles (Pug and Beagle combinations.) All of them were cute as could be, but when did mixing breeds stop being mutts and start being Designer Dogs?
Is it just because a mutt is a result of an accident but a Designer Dog is the result of deliberate mating? Or is it because nobody pays much for a mutt but you can get big bucks for Designer Dogs?
I'm just askin'
