past behavior best indicator of future behavior

Posted: Jan 22, 2012

If you Google Newt and Airforce One you will find that he absolutely admitted that one of his motivations for shutting down the government years ago was that he was angry at Clinton for making him sit in the rear of the plane and exit through the rear. Yep, there are actual quotes out there.  Sounds like a real stable adult.  Not much. Also, yesterday was the anniversary of Newt's unprecedented censure. Run Newt run.

I think when it comes down to it all in the end - what if

[ In Reply To ..]
You can nit pick all you want about the little unimportant things, Newt farted in public, Romney looked at someone wrong, etc, etc (which by the way if you dig deep enough you will find childish things every politician has done and admitted to, like the "I did not inhale thing" LOL.

But what it all boils down to is when the debates come. People who are for Obama are of course going to say he's the most brilliant man in the world with his charm and million dollar smile he will undoubtedly wins hands over anyone in debates (even God himself/herself/itself if they were to debate). I think placing a man on such a high pedestal is going to be the downfall. However, what it all boils down to is the debates. Nobody knows what is going to happen, what questions are going to be asked or answers given. Who is going to be held accountable for the mistakes being made, etc. There's always the race card if all else fails. I don't believe Newt is going to win because I believe Romney is the one who they want in. It will be a blast to sit back and watch it all, then watch all the insulting and attacks on this board as they have been coming over the past few days or so.

I don't really want Romney in, but I think the only reason I do want Romney to win is to watch all of you squirm and throw even more childish tantrums. It's going to be fun.

Makes me think of what Arnold Schwartenegger said in Total Recall - "Get ready for a surprise".

Guess it is okay to boff your mistress in the White House, but you pass gas in public and it is now a liberal bulletin? What a stupid, childish comment. I bet the one posting that ridiculous comment passed gas a time or two...who cares? Obama is such a total jackass and in real danger of his socialist dreams and schemes imploding. As a result, the liberal fear mongers are screaming like their hair is on fire. Maybe when Obama shows up for the debates, his cocaine that HE stated he used, will get there before him....hear it provides false courage. I guess we'll see.

It looks like you find shutting down the govt in a fit of pique a small thing. A precedent setting censure just a squabble. But the grandson of the neighbor across the street's goat blinking when the shadow of president obama's plan crossing over the yard highly suggestive of demonic interference. So be it baby,so be it.

I don't understand your reply at all - what if - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
Didn't understand the goat thing or Obama crossing the yard or demonic interferance thing at all. Maybe I haven't had enough coffee yet, but still trying to figure out what your message means. Maybe you misunderstood me. All I was saying is in the end it's going to be the debates that will make up a lot of peoples minds (that is the ones who aren't made up yet - the Obats already have decided they won't listen to anything. I believe it all boils down to the debates, what questions are asked and what answers are given. Nobody know what that is yet.

As for the petty little things like who did this because they were mad, who farted in public, who looked at a reporter wrong, all the petty little crap that people think is so important right now is going to not be.

As for shutting down the government, it all depends on what they do or don't do. If you want to nit-pik what Newt said then so be it, but I can tell you a lot of politicians have said as stupid things as that.

anybody said President Obama is "the most brilliant man in the world." The people who support him just think he's doing the best job he can. Why is it that if somebody likes Obama, they "have him on a pedestal" or think he's the "most brilliant man in the world?" I just don't get it! I support Obama but don't believe either of your statements. I just like his political values more than the others.

As far as wanting Romney in just to "watch all of you squirm," if that's what you base your political values on then you really should not even vote. People should "want" a candidate because of their political beliefs, not to watch someone else squirm. If you disagree, then vote for somebody you believe will do the best for the country, but not to watch other's squirm.

That's pretty sad.

Then you are one of the few - you should read back over some of the posts - sm

here. Go back a few months or even last year here. Oh yes, you should listen to Chris Matthews too. You will find the god-like references by him. People do put Obama on a pedistal. They believe his is the next savior. Even Farakkan (sp?) came out and said it. Can even find the video clips for you if you don't believe me.

I myself like Obama - the man that is. The husband, the father. The person he is when not in politics. As for his policies I don't agree with them. His values do not line up with mine. I think his values are dangerous and its the wrong direction for the country to go. I know a lot of people don't like to hear this, and this is not an insult, it's just stating the fact. His direction he wants the country to go in is socialism. Now, before any of you get your panties in a bind, here me out. By Obama's own words of spreading the wealth, his health care plan, and everything else he has said himself that falls in the line of socialism. But that is not what our country is founded on. I don't believe people can just be yanked from their home because someone suspects something of them, thrown in jail without a lawyer, etc. I don't believe the cancer causing x-ray machines should be on all streets in America for people to have to walk through them to make sure they are not carrying a weapon. There are so many other issues that I just don't agree with. Doesn't mean I don't like the guy cos I do. I think he should go back to being a Senator. I thought he was much better at that job. I have a friend who likes him, supports him and is going to vote for him. We were at a party and someone told her his ideas and viewpoints are leading the country to socialism. She said she thinks socialism is good and she wish people would stop acting as though it is bad.
She said the CEO of certain companies should not be getting paid all the money they do and that it needs to be distributed to everyone so that all of their lives could be improved. She said she wants to live in a nice house like them and if they distributed it everyone would be happy and therefore she is going to be voting for him.

If Romney is the pick then I will not be voting. I'm not going to vote for someone I don't believe in. Whether I vote or not, that is my choice. I don't vote just because your supposed to. I vote for people I can believe in who will make the country better.

I hope the best person for the job wins. That's all I hope for, but I hope a republican gets in 1) because it will be better for the country and 2) because I will be sitting back smiling at all the LIEberals squirming and foaming at the mouth. That's not sad - that's funny.
Socialism embraced by Obama - Examples everywhere
[ In Reply To ..]
Obama has repeatedly stated he embraced Marxist ideas (the founding father of socialism). George Bernard Shaw (devout Communist) said they began referring to communism as socialism as they found people accepted it quicker. Would love to know what your friend would think about socialism when it is decided SHE has too much "stuff" and someone else wants her "stuff" redistributed. Bet she would sing a different tune. Always easy to spend someone else's money (dems) and give away someone else's "stuff" (socialist/communist).

BushPiscoSour

Here we have W knocking back a pisco sour, a Peruvian brandy concoction that packs quite  punch,  at the APEC summit in Nov 2008, nearly 22 years after his "rebirth" and redemption.  Highly unlikey he was served the virgin version, as they were enthusiastically consumed by global leaders there who gave the national drink high praise and a double thumbs up.

Now let's see here.  1966 disorderly conduct charges dropped after the then  underage 20-yo W, (that designation was not dropped from 21 to 18 until 1973 in Texas) downed a few tall ones with some buddies and stole a Christmas wreath from a hotel.  There was the 1972 arrest for possession of cocaine at age 27, the records of which daddy helped get expunged.  W has tap danced around questions regarding his cocaine use ever since. In 1976 he was arrested for DWI while on vacation with the family in Maine, pled guilty and had his license suspended for 2 years, but in 2000 (13 years after his so-called "rebirth"), lied about the duration of the license suspension, claiming it was only for 30 days (public records say otherwise).  In 2002, he collapsed and lost consciousness while watching football in the White House, striking his head, sustaining abrasions to his face.  Blood samples during that hospital visit taken hours after the incident revealed a blood alcohol level of 200 (whew!).

Call me crazy, but it would seem that in Ws case, past behavior has been a reliable indicator of future actions, given that 5-decade span.  No such long-term substance abuse patterns emerged after Obama's self-disclosed high school cocaine and marijuana use, indicating that he learned this lesson early on and that his teenage drug use was something he left in his dust during his college years.  In other words, his "recovery" was GENUINE.

In Neutron's case, his multi-decade span of marital infidelities and negative characterizations of the women in his life (#1 not pretty or smart enough to be the wife of the president and besides, she has cancer; #2 is a liar) and various inappropriate affairs (one being the professor's wife at WGC who claims they had oral sex in hotels and the back seat of cars, which may have been a factor in his being denied tenure there) do not concern me nearly as much as his history of hypocrisy and the ease with which he is able to lie, not to mention his volitility and mean-spirited, alpha-dog persona.  IMO, If any one of these past behaviors is any indication of future actions, he needs to be kept as far away from the WH as possible and the idea of his becoming Commander-in-Chief is positively unthinkable.

A little less simian.

Looks like he's already past the one-too-many point here.  This one's my fave.

Mingling after the meeting.  In this one, the grasp on the glass is a bit more natural, but he probably ought to work on that tendency to raise his pinkie.  Could unintentionally send the wrong signal to certain fellow attendees.  Somehow I can't get the feeling he is still nursing the same drink he imbibed during the meeting earlier that day.

Ummm....maybe it was the right signal after all.  They all seem to be feeling no pain at this juncture.

What I honestly believe - Rep/Dem either way.

[ In Reply To ..]
Do you honestly think that anyone with honesty and integrity could possibly make it to the White House as president, or even to Congress for that matter? I certainly do not. I think if there was such a person in politics they would refuse the position and what it entails.

Furthermore, I believe in the Constitution and what it stands for. But tell me how on earth did anyone think they could come here from the mother country for the sake of political and religious freedom, and build a society just like the one they left and expect it to work?

Rep/Dem either way - Conservative

One of the most intelligent assessments on this board. That is exactly what so many of us have said over and over. Not one single mother country thrived on the principles and politics that so many spew here. It is easy to see that there are very, very few that bother to look at what Europe is going through now, based on the politics of "social justice" or redistribution; and what that is going to do to us, as well. I, too, am a constitutionalist. Could never understand if someone hated America or what it stands for, why they stay. Planes coming and going all the time to so many of the countries that they seem to think do things so much better under "social justice".
