blue state manifesto

Posted: Nov 16, 2012

Dear Red States:

We're ticked off at the way you've treated California, and we've decided we're leaving. We intend to form our own country, and we're taking the other Blue States with us.

In case you aren't aware, that includes Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois and all the Northeast. We believe this split will be beneficial to the nation, and especially to the people of the new country of New California.

To sum up briefly: You get Texas, Oklahoma and all the slave states. We get stem cell research and the best beaches. We get Elliot Spitzer. You get Ken Lay.

We get the Statue of Liberty. You get OpryLand. We get Apple, Intel and Microsoft. You get WorldCom. We get Harvard. You get Ole' Miss.

We get 85 percent of America's venture capital and entrepreneurs. You get Alabama. We get two-thirds of the tax revenue, you get to make the red states pay their fair share.

Since our aggregate divorce rate is 22 percent lower than the Christian Coalition's, we get a bunch of happy families. You get a bunch of single moms.

Please be aware that Nuevo California will be pro-choice and anti-war, and we're going to want all our citizens back from Iraq at once. If you need people to fight, ask your evangelicals. They have kids they're apparently willing to send to their deaths for no purpose, and they don't care if you don't show pictures of their children's caskets coming home.

We do wish you success in Iraq, and hope that the WMDs turn up, but we're not willing to spend our resources in Bush's Quagmire.

With the Blue States in hand, we will have firm control of 80 percent of the country's fresh water, more than 90 percent of the pineapple and lettuce, 92 percent of the nation's fresh fruit, 95 percent of America's quality wines (you can serve French wines at state dinners) 90 percent of all cheese, 90 percent of the high tech industry, most of the U.S. low-sulfur coal, all living redwoods, sequoias and condors, all the Ivy and Seven Sister schools, plus Stanford, Michigan, Cal Tech and MIT.

With the Red States, on the other hand, you will have to cope with 88 percent of all obese Americans (and their projected health care costs), 92 percent of all U.S. mosquitoes, nearly 100 percent of the tornadoes, 90 percent of the hurricanes, 99 percent of all Southern Baptists, virtually 100 percent of all televangelists, Rush Limbaugh, Bob Jones University, Clemson and the University of Georgia.

We get Hollywood and Yosemite, thank you.

Additionally, 38 percent of those in the Red states believe Jonah was actually swallowed by a whale, 62 percent believe life is sacred unless we're discussing the death penalty or gun laws, 44 percent say that evolution is only a theory, 53 percent that Saddam was involved in 9/11 and 61 percent of you crazy bastards believe you are people with higher morals then we lefties.

By the way, we're taking the good pot, too.  You can have that dirt weed they grow in Mexico.

Sincerely,

Author Unknown in New California

NC was pretty blue until last year and now has become more like Miss or Tenn. Maybe they will come around when they realize who they are being lumped in with. Also could we PLEASE include the following cities in our secession: Charleston, Savannah, Atlanta, Austin and my absolute favorite New Orleans? Pretty please y'all?

[ In Reply To ..]
supposed to be working together. I guess that's not in the democrat manifesto.

BTW, I'm neither red or blue. Some of my neighbors are democrats, some republican some are independents. WE all get along.

Those who are not happy with the poliical process and know that republicans have as much right a say about issues than democrats do....well I know a few countries they'd fit right in with where others are not allowed to disagree or have a say in their political beliefs.

No wonder the author wants to remain unknown. Not surprising coming from CA.

haters and dividers... IN BIZARROLAND. It's doubtful the yahoos in TX who are signing the petition for secession from the US have a clue what irony or being facetious is. I would love to see our part of the country tell their welfare sponging @&&es to hit the road and start their own country, and while you're at it, take your mooching buddies Alabama and Mississippi with you! Have Rush for your king and Michelle Bachmann for your queen. I'd vote for getting moving even faster on that border fence!

I live in a pretty conservative county in Missouri, and Obama still got 35 percent of the vote.

People should look at their county's voting numbers. You might be suprsied how many liberals and/or conservatives live right next to them.

Two state solution! - Fanatical Hypocrite

[ In Reply To ..]
I've been demanding it for years now. The South has been holding us back for two centuries, it's time to cut the dead weight. They still have Confederate flags up celebrating their socialist past, when a select few "community organizers" forced other Americans to work on communist mass farms and oppressed their freedoms. They are hiding and supporting terrorists (KKK, Aryan Brotherhood, etc.), they are communist welfare states that suckle from the Federal government's teat, they have an active nuclear program (in fact, lots of them live in aluminum tubes!) and their moral failings have attracted hurricane after hurricane (source: Pat Robertson, part-time dietary supplement salesman and full-time Jesus substitute). It's gone too far.

And now that they've ruined their economy, they are constantly moving to the north to steal our jobs! And the liberal propaganda that comes out of Florida's Disney World! A mouse would never be friends with a dog. Dogs eat mice. It's vegetarian brainwashing for our children. And that duck has no pants. If the gay Floridian agenda gets its way, no one will be allowed to wear pants. That is the only logical conclusion that can be drawn here.

So, if you like wearing pants, don't like people taking your tax dollars for their corrupt social programs and love America, you really have only one choice: Sign that petition, even if you don't live there. Then we can wait 10 years and invade them to spread democracy, steal their oil (which they are wasting by covering their marine animals with it - what does a seal need with oil anyway, they don't even drive) and find their WMDs. And I can tell you, having family from Louisiana and having eaten Cajun food, they have chemical weapons.

Disclaimer: The views expressed in this rant are paradoxically not the views of the author, who disavows all statements therein.

Fox News defense: I never said any of the above. I didn't. You can't prove it. The author is a biased and untrustworthy source.

I even speak Spanish. I can count to three and tortuga means turtle. So, I hope you always wanted 1-3 turtles for a wedding gift, otherwise I'm the wrong guy. If the person speaks French, I can also ask where the library is. I just won't understand their directions.

Florida is one of the few states I've never been to and I always wanted to go. It was great to see it go blue this time. In many ways, CA and Florida have a lot in common. We're both at the bottom corner of our respective sides of the country, both known for our sunny beaches and natural disasters, both known for our shark attacks even though that pretty much never happens and both have thousands of people who moved to our states because of spiritual vortexes. California and Florida are long lost siblings.
yw! sm - bootstraps
[ In Reply To ..]
We were blue in 2008 too :-)

But in 2010 we were invaded by the disaster named Rick Scott. Our legislative body was invaded as well, the guys who loaded up our ballot with referendums (not by petition of the people or committee) and reduced our voting hours.

I'm a big Jerry Brown fan. Ya'll are lucky :-) I'd even think about moving there except I am more comfortable with natural disasters I can see on Doppler radar and it'd probably take me 10 years to adjust to the time change... but then again... I'd probably be on a "normal" schedule considering my bedtime is 3 a.m.!!!

Florida's great. I have family there. - grits

FH, I have to say, I love your attitude. I hate to admit the flaming car story made me LOL - I agree; between laughter, crying or anger, laughter is easily the most preferable. I'm blessed in that my real actual husband is one of those sunny people, so I try to learn from his example.

Unfortunately, I may find way too much funny.

Years ago, I was down at a generic local Jiffy Lube-style oil changer watching a car burning in the maintenance bay, laughing my @$$ off. One of the people there chastised me for it, saying that it wasn't funny that I was laughing at someone else's misfortune. I explained that it was my car on fire. They asked why that was funny. Besides the fact that I've never seen a car catch on fire at a Jiffy Lube - so of course it happens to me - I had just been lamenting to a friend that I was never going to find out where the short in the electrical system was. It ended up catching on fire three times before they gave up on it and rolled the charred remains of my only transportation out into the parking lot where one of their employees advised me to push it over a cliff and claim the insurance. I give him an F for business sense and an A for honesty.

But the lesson here is simple, everyone has three choices in any given situation that is beyond our control: Get angry, cry or laugh. I try on all possible occasions to laugh. Oh, and qualifying customers can use prayer, but it requires donations. Besides my petitions to God to smote the Westboro Baptist Church have gone unanswered, so either it's a cosmic scam or my being agnostic disqualifies me from calling down divine orbital strikes. Admittedly, the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies are on a collision course that will kill everything 4 billion years from now, so he's probably really, really busy with all that.

I hope you are kidding but if not, see message. - backwards typist

[ In Reply To ..]
Have you forgotten about the Militias, Aryan Brotherhood, the other "skinhead" groups, and all those other racist groups that are alive and well in blue states? They're not as outspoken as they were a couple years ago but they're still there and building.

KKK is still alive according to the History Channel, but not effective anymore because of their dwindling numbers.

Feel sorry for you. You need God in your life. - He will be coming to judge.

Do you have a special power that clues you in when someone does not have God in his/her life? If so, I guess you are on the same level as He.

Yes.... - anon

anyone that "knows" God also "knows" a person who does not have God in their lives simply by watching/hearing/experiencing the other person's actions/inactions. When someone posts something hateful to another person, whether it be on this site or a different site, that post becomes their words and feelings in their heart, and expression of their soul. If the post is "black", so is the person's soul who wrote it...and yes, God will judge you for your actions/inactions/feelings towards others as a whole, as well as for feeling and putting yourself above others first.
shouldn't you be busy saving the secessionists - judge not (remember that one)

As usual, the Henny-Penny-sky-is-falling republicans are insisting that the economy is in the tank because of a weak GDP.  Most economists have already recognized that the terrible winter we had is the cause.
