Wow. The entire military vote thread just went poof!

Each post was simply more name-calling and insults. Again, please try to respect that we all have differing opinions to issues and this behavior is just not necessary.

Why wasn't the previous *** edit approach to that used instead? - There were thoughtful posts

trying to steer the conversation back on topic that went down with it. This scorched earth response seems a little heavy-handed.

that should read "thoughtful posts" - nm

I don't blame moderator for taking down the whole thread, but I wouldn't be surprised if OP requested it be taken down.

I'm not here 24/7, but doesn't look like many personal attacks have been removed in the last week or so. Of course, personal attack is subjective ;-)

Again, nothing against moderator. Appreciate this forum and all the MTStars forums.

I am the OP and I did not request it to be removed - but I'm glad it was - thanks Moderator

Want to say Moderator you are doing a great job. Thank you so much for removing the thread. My intent was not to get a bunch of name calling going, merely to point out that the military's vote is being suppressed, which I feel is a real shame. I had just been reading about 5 or 6 different articles on and and posted the wrong one, so would have asked it to be removed.

It is very sad that posters cannot have a decent conversation without the name calling. When someone starts calling someone names it's hard not to lash back in the same manner.

Thanks again Moderator for using your discretion and doing what was right. I appreciate it.

Would you mind posting the one you meant to?

I only assumed you asked for it to be removed because it wasn't pertinent to the 2012 election. If I mistakenly posted something, I for sure would ask it to be taken down.

We are only human :-)
No, I am superhuman :-) - I'll try again

Here is the one. I read about 6 or 7 of them and had all the windows open at the same time, so copied and pasted the wrong one.

It is stated on the site that this is a satire - blog. It's nonsense NM

It defies logic on many levels but I guess it sounds - "plausible" to those still trying

to discredit this president, his policies and the resounding message voters delivered from battleground states, down ballot US senate outcomes and even in state legislatures that flipped from red to blue majorities.
The information they talk about in this article is real. - and happened.

Whether it is talked about on CNN or wether it is talked about in a discussion forum or whether it is talked about through the military, the fact of the matter is it has happened.
You fell for it and took the bait I'm sorry - annieb - sm

I know it's hard not to. You think some posters would like to have a serious discussion, but from everything I read they don't. Don't know if you are new to the site, but that's the way it works here. You could actually post a link to something on CNN and if they don't like it they'll say it's not valid.

Yes, there are many good sites out there and yes, they are valid. Don't feel bad. It's just the norm here that they will do that. Don't think I've yet to see a good post go unbashed. Anytime a conservative posts something here they are ganged up on and bullied. They will not be happy until it is a liberal dominated board. I do wish they would separate the two. It's the only way anyone is going to have decent conversations. Having a difference of opinion is fine. I love a good discussion about difference of opinions, but not here. All you get are condescending snotty remarks poking fun of you. Someone here wrote that maybe the liberals should just make up a list of subjects that are allowed to be talked about and the sites people are allowed to go to, since if anyone goes to a site that is not "approved by them" they jump all over them.

Fortunately, it looks like you already know this, but there are many good sites out there to gather information. The don't always come with the label CNN, MSNBC, FOX, etc. Then there are sites that are great to get information from (blogs and such) and then from there you can cross reference it, which I see you have already done.

Again, don't be disheartened. There are a lot of us who are willing to go outside the box. We can see right and wrong on both sides of the isle. Also don't let the ganging up get you down. Don't know if that will ever get under control. Not telling you what to do of course but from now on I would not even put links. If people are sincere and interesting in having an intelligent discussion about it we'll Google it and then add our thoughts. The others, I don't know about others, but I look at the moniker and some i don't even read the subject like. Also, they do not fool too many people by switching their moniker name. The hate still comes through and obvious who is writing.
How could 12 boxes hold 3 million ballots? - and even if they did

I just noticed it was 2 years old and may not be pertinent to a serious dicussion. I wasn't confrontational when I posted. Just stated the facts. Why am I the villain here? Because I asked the OP to post what he/she meant to post?
but the thing is, it didn't happen - it isn't real - sm

I offer this info with the kindest intentions. This isn't about impugning the OP's source. This is just me reaching out to you to let you know that this article is satire. Someone was just being funny. It would be terrible if it were true, for sure. But it's not. :)

This Independent And Her Entire Family Are VotingAug 19, 2016
There is one overriding consideration in our family, and that is the urgent need to break the strangle-hold that the "elite", the "insiders", the "establishment" have had on government for too long. In other words: The "old-boy" (or "old-girl") network. Money, and its illicit influence. Back-room deals and corrupt arrangements. Had Sanders not sold out and broken off an independent candidacy, our family frankly would have been split, but unfortunately Sanders proved to be just another P ...

Entire Democrat Party In DisarrayNov 11, 2016
It isn't only the Presidency, House and Senate the Democrats lost, they also lost at the state and local levels across the board. I guess a lot of them did "wake up" as suggested many times by those in the know. I think this bodes well for the country moving forward. I am going to continue to NOT read the negative posts by the usual suspects as they continue to offer nothing but divisiveness and vitriol, the traits the majority of Americans are tired of seeing over the last eight years. ...

The GOP Vs The MilitaryFeb 03, 2010
Interesting indeed! From Andrew Sullivan's blog:02 Feb 2010 07:22 pmThe GOP vs The MilitarySteve Benen makes an interesting point: Obama has spent a year following the guidance of military leaders, and Republicans have spent a year breaking with the judgment of the military establishment. It's a fascinating dynamic. On everything from civilian trials to Gitmo to torture, we have two distinct groups -- GOP leaders, the Cheneys, Limbaugh, and conservative activists on one side; President ...

I Just Watched The Worst Movie In My Entire LifeJan 06, 2010
I am so mad that I actually bought this movie because I heard so many people say how scary it it.  It was not scary at all...not one iota.  The movie is called "Paranormal Activity".  After watching it I got online and see it has won the Rotten Tomato award as did the actress and actor in it (if you could call them that).  It was slow, boring, and the acting was horrible.  Not the reactions one would expect if you have a demon in the house.  Her screaming was so hid ...

Military BurielDec 02, 2009
I don't know for sure but given the fact that I was married to a military man for 9 of our 18 years, it all sounds llike crapola to me, all coming from her.  The Red Cross may be able to help.  They were our liason when we needed to contact one of our guys out to sea on a submarine.  We were generally not allowed to know where they were at any given time and were out of contact with our husbands for sometimes 100 or more days at a time, so we used them as the go-between.&nbs ...

Muslims And Gays In The MilitaryFeb 03, 2010
OK, somebody has to say it. It’s uncomfortable and it makes whoever says it open to being called a “Pharisee,” a “homophobe,” a “bigot,” a sanctimonious hater, a benighted troglodyte, or worse. Somebody has to endure that, though. We need to act like grown up, secure people who can talk about difficult things and resolve them.
