What happened? I thought the pubs were going to take the senate majority

Republicans gained 63 house seats and has thankfully dethrowned Queen Pelosi. There hasn't been a gain in the house like that since the 1930s I believe. We gained 3 senate seats as well. Granted the democrats still have the majority in the senate but they definitely don't have as big of a majority as they did.

So Obama can either refuse to work with his "enemies" or he can perhaps eat some humble pie and come to terms that his agenda was ticking Americans off and should meet republicans halfway. I highly doubt he will pull a Clinton and meet halfway merely because he is so arrogant.....but we will see.

Yes, America has spoken - sm

and I think loud and clear. Some of those senate seats were very tight races. This should be a wake up call to the Pres. He needs to remember that all parties aside, no one wants to see him fail. When he fails, the country fails. I hope he can work well with the house, and if he wants any chance at winning another election, he will.

That's all I need. :) :) :) - nm

who's we? Got a mouse in yer pocket?

You really should change the name of your party to SOS and you honestly should be in charge. I think you should run on up to Washington and get on the cabinet like a good little socialist.

When he gets beat in 2012 are you going to need medication to get through it? lol.

Aw, thanks for the endearment. I didn't think you had it in you! - Those who

A mouse in your pocket? Nah, he's gone and it's obvious what's left.

Cheer up honey! You'll be glad one day. :)
Wow, you ran down an ADD rabbit trail that time....lol - sam
[ In Reply To ..]
I'll be glad one day for what? I am glad right now...glad the democrats lost 60 seats in the house of representatives. I couldn't be MORE happy. Wait. I take that back. I am going to be downright giddy in 2012 when the UHaul backs up to the white house to take Obama back to Chicago!! :-)
Showing your difficulty understanding again. Poor thing. :( - It is

possible you can overcome your limitations though. Keep trying! :)

ADD? Like when someone says "we're done" and keeps on taking the bait? ROFL!!!!
awwww, thanks for the sympathy.... - sam

Why don't you post under a moniker? Oh nevermind. I KNOW why.

And thanks for confirming that you like to "bait" people. As if we did not already know that, but confirmation really helps...and probably major reason you will not post under a static moniker.

lol.

I said we were going to get the house back...we did.... - sam

[ In Reply To ..]
And he is crippled unless he can get agreement from the house...which we the people do have a significant majority in. That was MY goal. Hamstring him until we can send him back to Chicago in 2012. Can't get here soon enough for me. Are you going to need medication when that happens? LOL.

Thanks for sharing some excellent gradeschool - thinking

Nobody expected that. I was watching CNN all night and even Wolf Blitzer said that nobody expected them to take the senate, but they did expect them to take the house. I guess that was CNNs way of minimizing their loss.

A lot of back-pedaling going on on this board today. It's quite entertaining. - :) :) :)

We took the house and took away Pelosi's gavel. I'm satisfied for now. - SM

[ In Reply To ..]
In a couple of years, we'll be taking back the White House.

We took more than that. They lost 60 House seats. - sam

[ In Reply To ..]
That is more than Bush lost in both his midterms COMBINED, and you know how badly Dems hated Bush. Well, for them to lose 60 seats, for Feingold to lose in Wisconsin and Toomey to win in PA...Dems had to cross over and vote Republican, and all those Independents who used to like Obama came to the republican side in droves. He didn't just get a "shellacking" they got their collective butts kicked. This is historic. And still he says well he just didn't communicate well enough. Earth to Barack.....sigh

Looks Like Democrats Have The 60-vote Majority!Nov 21, 2009
In a show of unity, Senate Democrats sealed a 60-vote majority needed to advance health care legislation Saturday ahead of an evening showdown with Republicans eager to doom the bill and inflict a punishing defeat on President Barack Obama. Two final holdouts, Sens. Mary Landrieu of Louisiana and Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas, announced in speeches a few hours apart on the Senate floor they would vote to clear the way for what is expected to be a bruising, full-scale health care debate after Than ...

What The Majority Of The People Want Re Tax CutsDec 03, 2010

So a majority -- 51 percent -- backed either the Democratic position or wants all the cuts to expire." ...

The Bizarre Notion That Muslims Must Become A MajorityJul 16, 2016
Someone posted an (incorrect) analysis regarding the theoretical increase in the Muslim population in America.  It failed to take a number of factors into account and was slanted in a painfully obvious way toward her position, but that's not what I'm discussing here. I think, sometimes, that the most treasonous failure of the American educational system is that it manages to spit out "graduates" (even from college) who haven't the faintest notion not only of how to think or ...

Senate Health Bill - 1502 pages   "It's important to remember that the bill won't exist in this form for long. Senate Majority Leader Reid and Sens. Tax Cut Measures Fail In The SenateDec 04, 2010
They voted on the Baucus amendment and the Schumer amendment and both failed to pass.  I find some of the comments very interesting from both sides.
