;Through-and-through? Hardly. The GOP fall from grace has only been a recent phenomenon. Have you ever stopped long enough to use some critical thinking skills and question just WHY the Johhny-Come-Latelys have taken such a severe right turn and been so pro-actively trying to suppress the vote? Have you taken a look at a recent TX demographic map? Time for a reality check.
Here is a 2004 US map that shows red/blue vote percentage breakdown by state. Texas sure was approaching the half-and half state then. BTWin case you aren't aware of it, Texas is one of only 4 MINORITY-MAJORITY states in the US, the other three being CA, NM and HI, so that trend is not likely to turn in your direction anytime soon.
Ever done a survey of party affiliation in major metro complex areas, such as mayors, or other highly placed local and state officials ? Dems, Latinos, Gay, African Americans...diversity is the flavor of the day.
With winger legislative over-reach and flukes like Ted Cruz, the state is poised to return to its more sensible and essential roots. Despite their best efforts to scour the textbooks, TBE cannot reverse the wisdom of the time-honored axiom: Those who refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
