Weird democratic strategy ...maybe?

Posted: Jun 23, 2014

Has anyone else noticed the new Democrat strategy of trying to connect with the people in this country not making a million or more a year?

Hilary did the "we were broke when we left the White House" story and now Biden is thanking us for taking care of him?

Nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing ANY politician does or says is not part of a grand scheme.  It just really angers me that they pretend to even start to know how it is to live paycheck to paycheck and want us to feel sorry for them and like them for that fact!!!

She is really slipping too - I used to think (much to my personal dismay) she would be the next President but not so sure .. the "What difference does it make," the above, and a few other things she has done/said makes me think maybe it is time for her to be a grandma, wife and mother.

JMHO.  Flame away.  LOL

;

Trying to win votes is neither a Dem nor Repub - trait, its just politics. Theyre all the same.

I note when the Republicans - sm

are running scared, they always try pull the Democrats down to their level. Same old talking point to discourage the masses from voting. See the multitude of similar negative posts below.

She is doing this to herself ...IMHO - no mess

I don't think these sound bytes totally out of context. I heard her book is tanking terribly .. is that true?

Democrats are not the same as pubs - sm

Democrats are all about making sure everyone gets a chance; i.e. health care, education, safe food, shelter, safe environment.

Republicans are all about corporate profits and selfish/uncaring attitudes and exploitation of the working classes.

and starting wars, but in a nutshell you are spot on - NM

You may learn something.

Can I have some of your kool-aid? - LOL

[ In Reply To ..]
It is scary to me that anyone thinks it is this simple - Dems all good, Republicans all bad. There needs to be a blend of both - helping everyone get the chances but with accountability and financial responsibility.

It is also scary to see anyone so blindly following one ideology and hating those who feel differently.

I see a bad moon rising ...sad for this country and perhaps world.

True, but a politician is a politician. All they ever - REALLY care about is money, not their constituents

[ In Reply To ..]
Once they start accepting that cold hard cash, their party affiliation becomes pretty much a non-issue.

Hillary now claims they were not - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
...truly well off.

Maybe they should get a loan from Chelsea since she's making $600K a year.

To answer your question, yes, I have noticed the same thing you have.

Go ahead, flame me, too. LOL.

I also note the Republican strategy - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
of using sound bytes repeatedly (out of context) in trying to smear Democrats. Does the name Ken Starr ring a bell? I am pretty sure the Republicans have all the Benghazi testimony memorized, so lets get real about the Hillary quote in context, okay? Tired of beating those dead horses.

Here you go...in "context" - Enjoy!

Way to go!!
Past, present and future - sm

In the past, I was born in a poor rural family. I worked hard and put myself through school. Right now in the present, I am broke paying a mortgage and school loans. Someday in the future, I will be rich and famous.

What was Hillary the day they walked out of the White House? I would think a GOOD republican would not begrudge the Clinton's being successful.

Context please?
Context for the poster who asked for it. - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
You may have missed it, but the poster to whom I responded was asking for context. I simply provided it. No need to call me a GOOD republican...LOL...

All politicans are liars. That is what they do to win - It is not limited to 1 party.

[ In Reply To ..]
Each and every politician from federal government to local are lying thieves who are in it for the money. Anyone who believes otherwise is living in a fantasy world.

Note I included ALL politicians in my original comment. - sm message

Absolutely agree with everyone that all politicians are guilty of the same type of antics, truly. I just think this particular strategy will backfire on her/them. JMHO

New Democrat strategy - NK

[ In Reply To ..]
is not a new "strategy" at all. Including everyone in their platform is what won them the last two presidential elections. I believe it was the Republicans who gnashed their teeth and tried to convince themselves that their party needed to be more inclusive, all to no avail.

Perhaps the Republicans' new strategy should be to stop offending what's left of the middle class after they have refused to bring bills to the House floor for a vote on anything that might help the middle class, the working poor, and minorities rather than devoting so much time on trashing Ms. Clinton.

Very good point you made, and.... - sm

Republicans are trying to draw Democrats into a sort of class warfare against Hillary and Bill Clinton. Mitt Romney and the Republicans had the same strategy of simply bash your opponent and run on the platform "I'm not Obama." They're against equal pay for women and against a minimum wage increase and against Obamacare, etc. So when you have everything to offer rich people and corporations (which are people to the Mitt Romney types) and nothing to offer the middle class and average family except the status quo, I guess trashing the other guy is all you have!

The party who tried to shove Mitt and Anne Romney down our throats and praised Mitt for being a businessman and his ability to make millions and Anne for being the dutiful wife with family values who sacrificed to support her husband and family now want us to vilify Hillary and Bill's having money and now have taken to condemning unemployed women as "takers" who choose Obamacare and staying home instead of being slaves to an employer. Obamacare/ACA gives families more options to chose to have a parent that doesn't work or choose to start their own businesses, so cue the class warfare against people who choose to stop working and take affordable health care through the exchanges as "lazy" and "living off the government" and "refusing" to work. So much for family values; I guess they forgot about those now all of a sudden.

They are so afraid of Hillary that they are letting the spin against her fly fast and furious regardless of whether or not it contradicts their own tired rhetoric, and that's what I call desperation!

"What dfference does it make"? You're talking about her Benghazi hearing, right? - me

She went on to complete that statement in a completely rational way. She was angry at the question and she showed it. If a man had said the same thing, people would be saying want a big set of you-know-what he has.

The Republican StrategyFeb 19, 2010
It takes awhile to make sense of the entrails of the Republican Party, partly because they are just so toxic, but also because it's actually difficult to comprehend that an American political party can so deliberately sabotage its own government and nation. But after observing their behavior and their policy of, "Just Say No" -- sometimes to their own suggestions, one can only surmise that they long ago left the business of governing and have instead agreed to a covert game plan of destruc ...

Strategy - Good ArticleMay 24, 2010
This article is dated 5/24 and I don't see anything here regarding it.  I just read it and thought it was a pretty good analysis.  I do think campaigning against Bush is a wrong move.  Especially for someone who keeps claiming to be a forward thinker.  I've never heard this administration take blame for any of the decisions they are making.  Just whenever something they do backfires, their solution is to blame Bush.  I think Americans are smart enough and ...

We all know that Obama has an almost pathological aversion to prisoners when it comes to terrorists. I Do Not Understand The Democratic Way Of ThinkingOct 09, 2012
I have had numerous "debates" with some of my friends and family on the democratic way of thinking.
