Update on Churchill bust removal

Posted: Jul 28, 2012

First the WH claimed it was not removed, now they say the Fact Check post was incorrect. ...Notice what Pfeiffer now says is completely false: “. . . that President Obama returned the Churchill bust or refused to display the bust because of antipathy towards the British.” http://www.whitehousedossier.com/2012/07/28/wh-incorrectly-claims-churchill-bust-removed/;

Tory Conservative Mayor of London Boris Johnson - led a mass YES WE CAN chant

[ In Reply To ..]
while 60,000 exuberant Londoners joined in and, with one voice, repeated President Obama's 2008 campaign theme slogan over and over again. The comments leading up to the spontaneous outpouring left no doubt about precisely what brought this on:

“There are some people who are coming from around the world who don’t yet know about all the preparations we’ve done to get London ready in the last seven years,” said the Lord Mayor. “I heard there’s a guy called Mitt Romney who wants to know whether we’re ready. Are we ready?"

This should put to rest any lingering doubts over the trumped up bust kerfuffle and just who offends the Brits and who doesn't.

What I want to know is what are the cons trying to accomplish by beating this dead horse, which the Brits themselves have proclaimed is much ado about nothing? They find this obsession with the bust thing most perplexing. Do they seriously think prolonging the agony over Mitt's London Olympics trip disaster by fanning these flames is in any way going to mitigate what a joke Romney made of himself? Really? Puh-leeze.

Being the great statesman and diplomat that he thinks he is, Nowhere Man called the Lord Mayor an "eccentric, odd fellow" whose "public attack" on the him was "unbecoming" and an indication of his bias TOWARDS President Barack Obama. Mind you, he's talking about an arch conservative Tory. As utterly clueless as this is, one would think the cons would at least take their own candidate's word for it and pronounce the bust snub campaign a failure to launch. If there ever were any ill will between the Brits and Obama (not, not, not) Romney managed to vaporize it in one fell swoop.

I would add that the Romney camp and con pundits think this will all be forgotten since, "Americas don't care what the foreign press says." If they don't care, why then are they working themselves up into such a tizzy? As far as lasting effects are concerned, Mitt's astonishing incompetence has set the tone the British press will use in their US campaign reporting and has left an infamous legacy in his wake the Brits aren't likely to let him live down anytime soon.

It doesn't even sound like Mr. Koffler understands what he, himself, is saying. His piece is all over the map and demonstrates no backtracking on the part of the White House whatsoever.

So, back to the Churchill bust - the topic of the post.

Is it any wonder there has been confusion? The MSM covers for the WH and tells us what they want us to hear, then the truth leaks out and it's major spin, damage control, and backpedaling. Obama insulted the Britains, but then again, he has never followed conventional protocol while in office.

Are all these media snipes - supposed to

[ In Reply To ..]
have anything to do with the realities of Britsh-American/Cameron-Obama relations since 2008, or is it some kind of group therapy session the cons are conducting to help them deal with their grief over Mitt's lost oppotunities after his moment to shine got upstaged by Gaffegate?
Speaking of gaffes - O's pulled some doozies:
[ In Reply To ..]
and these don't count the "misspeaks" when he's off the teleprompter. These are cultural, ethical, social gaffes that involve Britain only.

Sorry. Can't get past Brietbart scolding MSM for being "partisan" - and conspiring with Obama camp

ROFLMAO. Hypocrisy can be funny after all. BTW, why are you avoiding my question? Is the bust bust supposed to be about British-American/Cameron-Obama relations since 2008? If so, then I would LOVE to go there. Just say the word.

Fact-free, packed with insults... Now how - does that go again?

My Second Job And Gallbladder RemovalSep 10, 2010
Finally after several interviews I had someone take a shot and hire me for a second job!  I was thrilled about this until I found out that the training for this job is the same day as my gallbladder removal.  Now if all goes well I should be home at 1 pm and my training starts at 5:30 pm.  The good thing is that my sister is going through the same training.  So I was thinking since the first few days of training is basically just sitting on my butt I can have my sister take m ...

Nausea After Gallbladder RemovalJun 28, 2011
I had my gallbladder removed a week ago because of gallstones.  Now I have nausea daily almost all day long.  My doc gave me antinausea medication to help with this, but it makes me very sleepy, which in turn makes working difficult.  Does anyone else have this problem or know someone who does?  I would really appreciate some advice from anyone who can help me rid myself of nausea and not be sleeping all the time from medications.  Does this wear off with time?  I h ...

Anyone Ever Tried That Hair Removal System No No?Jul 29, 2013
I believe it's called the No No???  It is a hair removal system that supposedly you can use for legs, underarms, and EVERYTHING.  Was wondering if anyone had used it and if it works and how long you are hair-free.  I did notice it had a buffing pad with it and I did try a removal system once where you basically and your legs down with what felt like sand paper to remove the hair, but it was VERY time consuming and I would just prefer a quick shave every couple of days as oppo ...

The governing board of the Tucson Unified School District was supposed to consider a plan that would make the class an elective, rather than a required class, like it is now. Black Pastors Ask Smithsonian To Remove Bust Of Aug 09, 2015
(CNSNews.com) – A group of black pastors sent a letter to the director of the Smithsonian Institution’s National Portrait Gallery asking that the bust of Planned Parenthood Founder Margaret Sanger be removed from the museum’s “Struggle for Justice” exhibit, citing her support for eugenics and the targeting of minorities by the nation’s largest abortion provider. E-cig UpdateJul 26, 2010
Since this thread started last week, I ordered, received, and have been using e-cigs for 4 days.  They're awesome.  I've smoked since a teenager - before cigarettes were taboo.  Since working at home, I was smoking 2+ packs a day.  I'm now smoking maybe 8 cigarettes a day, with absolutely no withdrawal.  When I smoke a real cig now, it's more of a choice rather than a necessity.  When I run out of my cigs, I won't be buying a new supply ...

Update On HJ Res. 15Jan 07, 2013
Did some more research on this and apparently Rep. Jose Serrano (D-NY) is simply a fanatic about repealing the 22nd amendment.  He actually has tried this before (HJ Res. 5) back in 2009, so I'm guessing it'll get about as far this time as it did last time. I would, however, like to have a discussion about the pros and cons of this bill - apparently there are some that would like to see this amendment repealed.  I'm actually for more term limits - senate, house, supreme ...

Update On New JobJun 25, 2014
Hi all in MT land: I am here just to stop in and say hi. I had posted awhile back about giving my notice and moving onto a new (and better) job. My last day with my MTSO was Friday the 13th. I started my new job June 9th and stayed on to help finish out the pay period. Another Update On MeMay 18, 2016
Well, my legs and ankles are mostly normal now. I think I lost 10-15 pounds and took finally four Torsemide two morning and two in afternoon to do it.
