My favorite Christmas song is "That Spirit of Christmas" by Ray Charles. Never hear it on the radio at all but it's in the "Christmas Vacation" movie with Chevy Chase...Love, love that song! Also O Holy Night, when done good...Went to the tree lighting in ATL this Thanksgiving and Mandisa did an awesome "Little Drummer Boy," wish she would record and release her version, it was awesome!

I have to admit I can't stand the "Christmas Shoes" song. I have a high tolerance for schmalz, but that's over the top for me. I change the radio station when that comes on. I'm sorta on the fence about "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas". It's kind of cute, but it has the disadvantage of sticking in my head and I end up singing it the rest of the day! Can someone help me out? You probably have to not young. This song is very old, and we used to sing it as kids and we're pushing 60 years old. My husband and I are going nuts.
