Truth in Advertising and Obamacare

I propose that the people who love their junk health insurance policies so much be allowed to keep them, but the junk policies should be listed on the health exchange with the rest of the compliant policies. If a person wishes to waste their money and keep or sign up for a junk policy, they should be required to sign a disclaimer saying that they understand they are paying money for junk and that they are willing to go bankrupt or refuse medical care should they find they need to actually use the junk policy.;
Not every policy was a "junk" policy - I had a very good policy

not any more. I was not "wasting my money". But no more. Now my rates double for services I will not use.
I propose the people who are so for this, let them pay triple of what they used to pay. Let the rest of us keep our policies we were happy with and could afford. Since ya'll seem to be able to afford the triple costs with the new system you should be able to keep it and should have to sign a disclaimer that you will never be allowed to access any other personalized health care and will always have to get your care through the socialist system. Its a win-win situation for all. We can keep ours, be happy, get our medical needs and it will keep paying for what we need. The rest of you can have the crap care you want so bad.
Why? - Not taking the bait

I know the game being played. I answer then you tell me either one, I'm lying or two, it's not the fault of ACA or three its the republicans fault.
I explained quite clear that our insurance was cancelled. We have the letter, we have the reasons they gave us. I'm not going to play this game of having to provide posters here every single minute detail so they can come back and try to explain away something they know nothing about.
There's no game, I want to know if it was - double after the subsidies.

I don't know how I could possibly be more straightforward. If you see that as a game, I don't know what to tell you.
Answer - Not taking the bait

So you are trying to play games. - I answered you.

It is not a requirement of this board to provide you with every intimate detail of my life. I stated I had a good plan that was affordable and according to the letter I receive stating the reason why, now I don't. You don't need to know any more than that. I have a relative who is a liberal and she pulls this same game with me. She'll rope me in and ask me a question, I give her the information and she twists it around until she is pretty much calling me a liar. When I sit with a letter from the insurance carrier (who is no longer our insurance carrier) stating because of the ACA they will no longer be providing us health insurance that means exactly that. I don't need to hear how this is the republicans fault, Bush's fault, the websites fault, any republican politicians fault, or Ronald Reagan's fault. I do have very good comprehension skills and I understand what I read.
As I said - not taking the bait and not playing any more of these games.
I'm not the poster you addressed but it's beyond me why people offer up anecdotal personal - information and expect

to be taken seriously.

Target Advertising MishapApr 05, 2013Did anyone see the thing where Target had a plus-sized dress and the color was advertised as "manatee grey", which is an actual color advertised for other products, but because this was a plus-sized item, it was "offensive". This world has gone crazy, I swear it has. People claim offense to EVERYTHING and it seems someone always is apologizing! Target actually APOLOGIZED, had a whole news write up on the apology. They wasted news space, their time, etc., because the name ...
Advertising Small Business On FacebookJan 27, 2010Has anyone had success with advertising a small business using a fan page (or whatever they call it) on FB? I have yet to set up an account. I do not want a personal account as I have been told that FB tries to link your personal and business info together. In addition to being a PT MT, I am also a travel consultant working out of my home. It's an established family business with a long-time website. I would like to use that website name as ...
Obamacare Meltdown Has Arrived. Tennessee Is Ground Zero For Obamacare'sOct 07, 2016last month the state insurance commissioner, Julie Mix McPeak, approved premium increases of up to 62% in a bid to save the exchange set up under the Affordable Care Act. “I would characterize the exchange market in Tennessee as very near collapse,” she said.
Then last week BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee announced it would leave three of the state’s largest exchange markets—Nashville, Memphis and Knoxville. “We have experienced losses approaching $500 million over the course of ...
Obamacare Is Failing From Behind... His Goals For ObamacareJul 20, 20161) Have it collapse so that single payer can be implemented amidst the ensuing chaos.
2) Have that happen on somebody else’s watch.
Obamacare was designed to fail so the Democrats could “reform” it with complete government provided socialized medicine. That is the entire purpose for it. Obamacare is designed to collapse so they can backfill the vacuum with government run socialized medicine.
Eventually, everyone will be on some form of Medicare. I believe that was one of Bernie’ ...

Here’s a guide to what those polls actually say, beginning with a discussion of the basic mistake which almost all the polls make.
Most of the major national polls on Obamacare choose to report findings on what percentage of Americans support the health care reform and what percentage favor its repeal. This simple distinction, braking public opinion into big blocs, immediate ...

A big h/t to beloved FellowshipOfMinds member FS for finding this extremely important and extremely frightening article.

This Is My Take On Obamacare For Oct 03, 2013So this is what I have learned. After listening about the new health insurance, this is what I know. There are 3 levels of care/cost. They are trying to get the young people to join to keep the cost down for the older people. Well after listening to a question and answer discussion on line program coming out of Sioux Falls, South Dakota hospital systems, it scared me greatly.
If all the young people join this program, it will not help the older people who live on a fixed inc ...

ObamacareDec 31, 2013When discussing the ACA or Obamacare, whichever you call it, remember that it is literally like comparing apples and oranges (and grapes, pineapple and maybe even potatoes). Each state has different prices and different plans from the federal plan. Some states now have only one company offering a plan through their state exchange. Each plan has a different monthly cost, a different deductable and it goes on and on and on. The requirements are different from state to state ...
Before Obamacare And After ObamacareJan 15, 2014Just this week my medical reports have included:
1. A suicide attempt by a patient who was despondent over the hospital bills that had accrued last year (before Obamacare). Patient is still recovering from illness and was depressed about not being able to pay bills.
2. A patient who was uninsured who had probably suffered a ruptured appendix a couple of months ago (before Obamacare) and went untreated. Patient now admitted for an abdom ...

IC MTs And ObamacareJan 06, 2017For those MTs on here cheering the repeal of Obamacare keep in mind that many of your fellow IC MTs are on Obamacare currently and with health issues. They were unable to secure insurance prior to the ACA and today are covered for their health issues at an affordable rate.
You write of soaring premiums under Obamacare but fail to take into consideration the cost of individual health insurance rates in your "free market." Those rates for me were over $1,200 per month for 1 ind ...
ObamacareMar 24, 2015There has been a lot of going back and forth today about Obamacare and it seems there are a lot that approve of Obamacare and think its good for Americans. Some have said they have read the law pertaining to Obamacare. So for those of you that understand the law, and if it is so good for us then just why did our Congress and Senators and Representatives opt out of Obamacare? They continue to keep the insurance that they had previous to Obamacare. You know the insurance that they pay nothing for ...

Here's A Thought About Obamacare.Sep 15, 2012A lot of long-time MTs are middle-aged. A lot of MTs would love to leave their MTSO jobs if they could find a better job in their community. A lot of job-seekers are discouraged because they get little or no response on job apps with other employers. A lot of age discrimination can happen discreetly, by either noting your "25 years" of experience at your last job (if not just by looking at you if you DO get called for an interview).
