Ummm...what worked for us was a small business loan - provided by ARRA stimulus funds
[ In Reply To ..]
with which we paid off the balance on our second truck (financed Feb 2007). This improved our credit score, so we used most of the remainder of the stimulus money as a down payment on a third brand new truck for auto transport, which allowed us to hire a driver for the 2007 truck. We replaced obsolete office equipment with what was left of the SBA money with a nifty computer and all-in-one copier, printer, fax and scanner that enabled us to computerize all business records. We created our own forms and flyers, sent them out and increased our work load.

With the extra money we have coming in from our driver, we have since paid back the SBA loan in full ($32,500) and have paid back almost half of the $100,000 we borrowed for the new truck over a 14-month period. By the end of next year, we should be able to add another truck.

That's how my husband was helped by a policy that works. I was also helped by unemployment benefits extensions. I continue to do my job search, but the way things are going, it is beginning to look like we also have created a dispatch/ofc mgr for me, now that I have learned how to budget 1200/month to cover household, groceries and gas expenses. That will happen once we are able to eke out the additional money needed to bankroll the expense of medical and life insurance without employer contributions.

Also, my best friend is pretty happy that she was able to qualify for the foreclosure relief program and is still living in the same home she has been paying on for nearly 20 years. She has a daughter with a congenital heart defect and I am quite certain she is thrilled with the prospect of being able to get medical coverage for her by the end of the year so that her 8-year-old can have the long overdue surgery needed to restore her health status to near normal. Wouldn't you be?
Every president has said ridiculous things - this one is no different
[ In Reply To ..]
You can go back to the beginning of time. All presidents make mistakes now and then. If your in the opposite party and hate a politician of course you are going to say their are the worst, but you have to realize whether a person is democrat, republican, independent, or whatever party they all say some pretty ridiculous things and no one person is worse than the other.

You named books about GW, but just wait and there will be books about the current one - if there aren\'t already as he has said some very ridiculous statements. Unfortunately he\'s been serious about it and doesn\'t realize how stupid it sounds.

While there are plenty of Bible verses to mention while discussing immigration, President Obama on Tuesday quoted one which isn't so great, mainly because it's not real. Some Liberal Thoughts Oct 25, 2009
If a conservative doesn’t like a news organization or a talk show host, he goes on multiple chat boards and blogs and does everything he can to discredit them.
