on this board today as there was in the election campaigns. The fact is, Obama won the election. He is our president. I didn't vote for him, but he is still the president of the country where I live. Instead of dissecting the election numbers and saying so-and-so committed voter fraud/suppression, why can't we stand together. After all, we are the United States of America. It doesn't mean we have to agree on everything, but we do need to band together to move our country forward.

He didn't reach across the aisle in 5 years and you expect him to start now? Everyone keeps saying, he will have to find a way to work with Republicans. Are you all crazy? No, he doesn't have to find a way. All he has to do is issue an executive order or put a regulation into effect.

For the last 4 years, the Republicans have been whining and refusing to play because they lost in 2008, and they just couldn't get over it. The party leaders have backed themselves into such a small corner that even they must realize now it has to expand if the party wants to survive. Here's hoping that more moderate Republicans will finally have the courage to step away from the party's right-wing lunatic fringe and actually try to help our country.

We need more patriots like her. Her points are valid. Obama has talked aobut reaching across the isle (it was one of his campaign gimmicks the last election), but has never once tried to work with republicans. He doesn't even want to meet the half way. He won't compromise. When people see this then they should be able to say it. The last thing I knew this was the United States of America where people have the freedom to speak their minds. I'll bet North Korea wishes they were able to. Maybe that's the kind of government you would like where as long as a democrat was in nobody is allowed to speak their minds or disagree, but it's just not the way our system works. Whether or not you agree or disagree with issues everyone should have the right to speak their mind without being called names or have their patriotism questioned.

isn't favorable and that is.........why didn't he reach across the aisle in 2009? And don't give me the story that the pubs wouldn't work with him. They tried time after time, especially on the health care. This is when things went bad. He had a chip on his shoulder when he got in and it only got larger as the year went on.

Because he couldn't charm his way to victory with Congress, he chose to become divisive and blame all his problems on Bush and the pubs in Congress which makes him sound like a 2-year-old.

Now I'll behave and hold my tongue unless someone ticks me off by calling me a liar or worse.
