Obama wasn't vetted. Palin was vetted.
I didn't agree with everything Palin said. She was a little too "churchy" for me, but she brought some good ideas. She was a successful governor, but then the leftists don't want to hear that. They want to keep repeating what the fake news keeps spewing, even thought it's not true.
The problem with that election was not Palin, it was McCain. McCain should have never made it that far. They needed Palin to energize a campaign that was putting people to sleep. Yes, they did vet her. There was nothing she didn't do that the media had a feeding frenzy on. She was a good choice because she was committed to cutting taxes, eliminating some regulations, and shrinking the govt. She understands the needs of the military, strong on energy wanting to produce more here and less oversees (even democrats agree with her and saw her as tough on that issue). She had the respect of other governors and worked well with state legislature and was thought to be able to bring a new bipartisan approach to Washington. She identified with working class Americans, and advocate for disabled children. She had the respect of the military and many military leaders said she was a good governor and leader. Someone they could trust. So the problem was not Palin, it was McCain.
A democrat even wrote "Those who know her, love her or hate her, offer no such criticism. They know what I know, and I learned it from spending just a little time traveling on the cramped campaign plane this week: Sarah Palin is very smart.
I'm a Democrat, but I've worked as a consultant with the McCain campaign since shortly after Palin's nomination. Last week, there was the thought that as a former editor-in-chief of Ms. magazine as well as a feminist activist in my pre-journalism days, I might be helpful in contributing to a speech that Palin had long wanted to give on women's rights.
What is often called her “confidence” is actually a rarity in national politics: I saw a woman who knows exactly who she is.
Now by “smart,” I don't refer to a person who is wily or calculating or nimble in the way of certain talented athletes who we admire but suspect don't really have serious brains in their skulls. I mean, instead, a mind that is thoughtful, curious, with a discernable pattern of associative thinking and insight. Palin asks questions, and probes linkages and logic that bring to mind a quirky law professor I once had. Palin is more than a “quick study”; I'd heard rumors around the campaign of her photographic memory and, frankly, I watched it in action. She sees. She processes. She questions, and only then, she acts. What is often called her “confidence” is actually a rarity in national politics: I saw a woman who knows exactly who she is."
Wish people would stop listening to the fake news and start listening to the people who have surrounded themselves and know the people personally.
If Steve Bannon "loves all things Palin" then he is definitely someone people should want to hear more from. Smart man.
All in all I think President Elect Trump is making some smart decisions regarding his cabinet people. He knows what qualifications people need for the job. He has prepared his whole life for this role. His experience hiring and firing people, knowing the job description and who is the best suited for the position is exciting to watch and very hopeful to pull us out of the mess the leftists has gotten us into.
As for Rudy, I've read he is very well liked by a lot of people. Psychiatric illness? Seriously? No, that would be the leftists intent on destroying our country. Dementia, psychiatric illness, brain damage, psychopathic liars. Even psychiatrists have written about this.
"Picking people who actually know things instead of him rewarding the loyalty of questionable character." You mean like giving a woman the position of SOS when she had no qualifications and turned out to be the disaster SOS with a bafoon to follow in her footsteps.
As for Bannon's looks? Typical. When all else fails pick on someone's looks. Though I don't know why? He is a very handsome man. Clean cut and yes, he does look like he has a home address.
