Santorum Says John McCain Doesn't Understand Torture

If anyone in the world has thought about all of the ins and outs of torture and why Americans shouldn't do it, John McCain is the man. If anyone understands torture, he does.

I don't think Rick Santorum will live that one down, politically.

Our sitting VP has a load of them. Our sitting President has quite a few himself. I am not a fan of Santorum, but if saying something stupid disqualifies someone from the office, then no politician is qualified. I seem to remember Obama stumbling and stuttering trying to figure out how many states are in the union and never did get it right. I don't think the man honestly knew how many states there were. Did that disqualify him from running for President? No. Joe Biden should not even be allowed near the White House if saying stupid things disqualified a person from serving.

what they are getting. Obama burned a lot of people by saying one thing, getting the job, and none of what he said coming to fruition. Oh wait, other than that debacle of a health care plan. We have now topped a 14-trillion dollar deficit. If Santorum knows that it is time to stop spending and start cutting, stupid or not, at least he has better FISCAL sense than the man currently holding the job. If Santorum gets the nomination (which I doubt), he gets my vote...a vote AGAINST Barack Obama and his policies. I know what we have now and I know he is not going to change, and I see financial disaster in this countrty's future if he is re-elected.

I don't care WHO runs against him. I am voting AGAINST him. Only a Democrat further left than Obama would be WORSE than Obama.

It reminds me of of when Santorum said tougher penalties were needed for those who "decide to ride out" hurricanes instead of evacuating when referring to Katrina victims.

raises almost as many questions about his character and judgment as the original statement does. Even more perplexing is how anyone in the GOP could excuse, minimize or defend this. Do they really believe this is an appropriate way for them to advance their argument about the efficacy of torture and/or the integrity of the results it produces? Really?
