The guy that brought up the question of "legitimate rape" and noted that a woman has "ways to prevent" pregnancy in a rape? You know...the guy that republicans lined up to denounce...the one they told to get out of the race...the one who was sooooo offensive they couldn't stand to have him as a representative of the republican party. Well, now that it is official that Akin is going to stay in the race and now cannot be replaced, look who's lining up to endorse him...

McCaskill, now that it's official he's in, is launching what should be some very effective ads. Legitimate rape is just piled on top of saying he doesn't like Social Security, Medicare, student loans, and wants to get rid of minimum wage.
Forget the fact that he thinks a woman isn't raped if she gets pregnant, who would even vote for a candidate that wants to get rid of SS, Medicare, student loans, and minimum wage? That's gotta affect people across the board I would think.

No person of his age should believe such a thing. Rape has been a weapon of war during several conflicts during his lifetime, and ob/gyn care a routine part of humanitarian aid. His fund of knowledge should have caused his eyebrows to raise the first time he heard it, but he swallowed it whole and sat clueless and happy as he spouted this authoritatively in a TV interview.
BTW, the GOP's denouncement of him as a candidate and call for him to withdraw was faster than immediate, before most of the country even heard it on the morning news. Karl Rove withdrew all financial backing, as did others, trying to force him out.
Some people's interests are confined to to what touches them personally, and that's a valid way to live, but it does severely limit their knowledge about the world and ability to function outside their home-friends-work track. U.S. Senator?!
