And look what we got...
The last thing a liberal should want to bring up - is campaign cash.

Here's the toilet brush. Clean your own filthy pot first.
Yet it's Republicans who fight campaign reform. - Actions speak louder than words.

.
Well, yes - the kinds of "reforms" proposed - by Democrats. Imagine that.
[ In Reply To ..]
I expect Republicans to be self-interested. I don't think it's required that they be stupid as well.
Those reforms were across the board. - Fair for everyone.

to defeat the party is okay by you, huh? Again with the double standard. It's okay if done by the Democrats, but scream bloody blue murder if done by Republicans.
Please be sure to thank the Supreme Court for the mess they made in 2010 and 2014 decisions regarding campaign financing.
Why would you assume it's okay by me and tell - me I have double standards,
[ In Reply To ..]
when I have been calling for an across the board SMACKDOWN of campaign finance? What's your issue, Truthhurts? Don't try to make this personal. Don't put words in my mouth and then insult me for things I never said and don't believe. You don't know a THING about me.
Because the subject of your post says it all plus - Truthhurts

"I guess their next step is to try to buy America"
This is not a across the board SMACKDOWN of campaign finance. This is blaming one party for the mess....
BTW, the Democrats are trying to push through an Amendment to the Constitution on campaign finance. Did you know that?
There's NO need for an amendment. All they have to do is PASS A LAW against it. When they start fooling with the Constitution, it's seriously scary. 'Give an inch, take a mile." They've been trying to amend the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and I think the 14th or 15th Amendment (not sure)..
I'm blaming the party that is blocking campaign - reform.
[ In Reply To ..]
Yes, I know about the amendment, and I support it. If Republicans don't want to amend the constitution, I also understand that. What I don't understand is why they are blocking bills that Democrats have put forth regarding campaign finance reform. Bills that would limit it ACROSS THE BOARD, Truthhurts. So yes, I blame Republicans. I blame the party that is preventing campaign reform. I also blame the uber-rich financiers that are not just donating, but CONTROLLING both the Republican and Democratic parties. I blame the politicians that accept and play these games ACROSS THE BOARD. And I blame the Republican party for preventing us from fixing these problems that directly affect all of us.
Like I said before, the D's are also responsible for this out of control campaign spending - Truthhurts

problem.
After all, they accept donations from everyone. Even the Koch Bros. After all, Democrats accepted campaign donations from Koch Industries for years. The company gave $110,000 of its total $2.2 million donations to the party in 2012.
Over the last 20 years, Koch donated $3,400 each to 298 Democratic congressional candidates.
Last year they spent $10 million lobbying Congressin how legislation gets drafted. It lobbied Sens. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, and Rep. Henry Waxman’s, D-Calif., on their carbon pricing bill. The legislation would’ve required polluters to pay for their carbon emissions and it died.
So, despite the D's huffing and puffing against the Koch Bros., they are just as guilty of acceptint campaign and lobbying monies from them. To me, that's being a hypocrite.
Instead of an amendment change, they should just make a bill and let it be voted on. It would show who is against and who is for campaign funding reform. In that bill, they should stipulate that the SCOTUS cannot ban this law or hear any appeal on it.
Corruption by both parties is rampant and getting worse with the Citizens United ruling and the McCutcheon rulings. These rulings need to be blocked and Congress needs to get back to the way campaign financing was allowed before these two rulings.
Light bulb moment? - sm

Here's a bit of good news for the Washington finger-waggers who think executive compensation has gotten out of hand: A survey of 81 big companies shows that CEO pay dropped by 8.6 percent last year. Now for the worrisome twist: The cash portion of their compensation rose 8.3 percent.

For Cash Of Titans Interesting FactsJan 13, 2012Just saw the list you posted thurs of wealthiest politicians. I have no quarrel with the opinion that some politicians enrich themselves in office. My concern is with the SuperPACs being unleashed in this election. SuperPACs are making ads that are influencing elections. Newt was doing well until Mitt's SuperPAC spent millions on ads.
