should be involved in this. It should be a business decision.
A business decision by whom? The Fox minding the henhouse? - sm

How can you be against it and want Time- Warner and Comcast to make the decision to go ahead and merge with no interference? Am I missing something?
I'll let you figure out the answer, since the government - reads all my emails now.

of cable/satellite coverage, it will also give them 57% of internet coverage. I for one am sick of being fleeced for satellite TV service. I pay over $60 a month and basically regularly watch about 6 or 8 channels, 3 of them network channels which I could get for free. I am hoping that there will be MORE competition and not less.

COMCAST DROPPED THEIR BID For Time WarnerApr 23, 2015
Comcast decided the hassle from the regulators wasn't worth it (my words, but words to that effect).   Staff attorneys at the U.S. Justice Department’s antitrust division are nearing a recommendation to block Comcast Corp.’s bid to buy Time Warner Cable Inc., according to people familiar with the matter. Attorneys who are investigating Comcast’s $45.2 billion proposal to create a nationwide cable giant are leaning against the merger out of concern that consumers wo ...

Comcast Employees Get Time Off To Protest Trump'sFeb 02, 2017
TRENTON -- President Donald Trump's executive order temporarily restricting travel from seven majority-Muslim countries prompted Comcast to give its employees paid time off to protest. Trump's order sparked protests around the country and elicited rebukes from a handful of CEOs of companies that employ tens of thousands of U.S. workers, including Bill Ford, CEO of Ford Motor Company, who took to the airwaves to say the ban "goes against our values as a company." Comcast, one of t ...

....without the name Bush or Nixon on the ticket?   I heard this question asked this morning on CNN, and I really had to strain my brain to think of an answer.  After pondering it in my head for a while (without benefit of Google/internet), I gave up trying to come up with it.....could only think back to when there WAS either Bush or Nixon on the ticket!!   The answer is 1928....when Herbert Hoover won.  That made me go, "Wow."  There is something kind of wrong with th ...

I HATE COMCASTSep 10, 2015
I hate, hate, hate Comcast. They are so incompetent. I've had nothing but issues for the last week, constantly being disconnected and modem locking up, lagging when I type and I have to wait to catch up. Call Comcast and get a frickin foreigner who can hardly speak English but just constantly says Sorry, Sorry. Yes I see you have a very poor and slow connection. We will set up appointment to fix the problem we promise. Tech comes out says everything is working fine and then wants to charge ...

On the first weekend in October, the NBC Universal in-kind contributions really kicked in: a star turn on "Saturday Night Live," a Sunday morning interview with Rev. Al Sharpton, and a Monday town hall meeting on the "Today" program. The Daily Beast was blunt in a headline: "'Saturday Night Live' Premiere Basically a Hillary Clinton Campaign Ad." Writer Kevin Fallon documented how the aid and comf ...

First Time Ever (long-time Voter) Had This ProblemFeb 16, 2016
Every one of them has serious flaws, either of character, personality, world view, experience, or philosophy - and in most cases more than one of these - that I simply cannot stomach. In my experience, it's always a choice between the lesser of two evils, but this election cycle seems to have brought out a spectacularly miserable collection of candidates.  And yes, Sanders and Trump supporters, I mean them too - or perhaps especially them too. It looks like I'll be sitting on my ...

I'm always facinated at some people who think all social problems and situations are so black and white.Abortion is here to stay, whether it's legal or not, just like it's always been an option when a woman finds herself facing the impossible situation of an unwanted pregnancy. Wishing it wasn't an option has never worked. However, when a discussion comes up about abortion, we women are strictly divided. Black and White in our opinions. This is a complicated issue. It doesn ...

Cat Question Aug 05, 2011
Don't know if you remember my last posts awhile back about a stray cat we started feeding and took care, gave her shelter for the winter and she had kittens.  We've taken the kittens in and adore them all.  Now...here she is 3 or 4 months later, every once in awhile I'll get a glimpse of her nursing them.  Vet told us milk has to be dried up before they can fix her.  However, she is a stray and she has been going out walking around the neighborhood like she has ...

QuestionMar 22, 2010
Okay, here is a question that I have not seen come up here.  While watching news today this just crossed my mind.  If the government sets an insurance rate you have to pay based upon what you make per year, do they take into account all your other bills, and that sometimes as ICs we don't get any work coming in at times, and then what they set is more than what you can afford (i.e. more money than your paycheck and you still have to pay all your bills).  As ICs I'm sure ...

E-Bay QuestionNov 19, 2013
Hi everyone, I absolutely love Swarovski Crystal, in particular their earrings. I have a couple of pairs that I paid full price for, but they are too expensive. (Earrings run from $60-$300+.) I saw that E-Bay has a really nice selection, and you can just do a Buy Now for way under market price--I'm not into the bidding thing, BTW. Thing is, how do I REALLY know it's Swarovski? Some of their jewelry is signed, and some of those posts say so, but not all their jewelry is signed ...
