Response was that they had never heard of a "Christian" flag...well, here it is, raising up its ugly head.;

[ In Reply To ..]I agree - on their own private property, individuals, corporations and organizations should be (and are) absolutely able to fly the Christian flag if they want to. The Confederate or Muslim flags as well. Heck, even the Swastika if that makes them happy. That's the First Amendment in action.
Unfortunately, there have been cases where government bodies have chosen - illegally - to fly the Christian flag. For example, the city of King, North Carolina, was sued over the practice in 2012, and ultimately lost, at a cost of half a million taxpayer dollars.
In May of this year, the town of Cochran, Georgia agreed to cease its practice of flying the Christian flag over city hall. They had the good sense to listen to their lawyers, who told them it was illegal, before it cost them a hot pile of cash.
Even on church property there have been some issues. For example, just this week North Carolina pastor Rit Varriale has been flying the Christian flag *above* the US flag. This is of course a violation of federal law, but fortunately for the good pastor, the flag code does not set any punishment for such transgressions.
Even Faux News' own Elisabeth Hasselbeck took exception to this display, saying "As a Christian, I’m not sure anything should fly above the American flag." No, indeed, Lizzy, nothing should, as any true patriot would tell you.
Thought about that too, I guess the issue is - its priority over the U.S. Flag

[ In Reply To ..]When I read about a "christian flag" on this board, I was assuming the posters were talking about individual denomination flags - I happen to be Lutheran and we have a Lutheran flag in one corner of the sanctuary in our church and the American flag in the other - the American flag is more prominently displayed on holidays such as the 4th of July and Veterans Day. I have yet to see the Lutheran flag touched by anyone - it just hangs there. I read on Wikipedia that a "christian flag" was created by Sunday school kids in the early 1900s. Wow, I bet they had no idea that some day the idea that they had for a flag would someday be drug through the mud as it has been here on this board. I am sorry for that. Hopefully those "kids" are not alive today to hear what is being said about their "art."
I am saddened when I read this board - how angry and bitter so many are toward me because of my faith in God. Please do not take away from me my freedom to believe in that God and to worship together with my family and friends. We should all be able to live our lives - - we should not discriminate against anyone - which means please stop discriminating against me because I am a Christian.

I myself am Christian, but I also believe in separation of church and state, and I won't tolerate any Christian flag (or that of any other religion) flying over any government property because it flies in the face of Constitutional freedom of religion (or freedom from). If you think that is discrimination or bitterness, you are incorrect.
