NOBODY likes war. I think what I see in Democrats believe more in a "let's all get along" philosophy while Republicans are more willing to admit that sometimes getting along just doesn't cut it, when there are people out there who would like to annihilate us.

When Romney says he'll threaten war to any country that doesn't fall in line, when he promises up to $2 TRILLION ADDITIONAL military spending, far more than the Pentagon says it needs, we really need to be asking WHY. Who does this man who will say anything to get elected expect to appeal to and what does he intend to do with all those new battleships, etc., the Pentagon has no use for?

BTW, you might note that Romney's not any more worried about scaring off mainstream non-evangelical conservative voters in the process than W was. Conservatives like a strong defense. Unfortunately, we may not be talking defense here at all.

What both Romney and W have in common is a theology that teaches that we are in the end times.

Mormons BELIEVE that.
Fundamentalist Muslims BELIEVE that.
Fundamentalist Christians BELIEVE that.
A very large block of evangelical Christians BELIEVE that.

What I believe is that a coming world holocaust and battle against the forces of Satan would certainly explain Romney's bizarre $2 trillion n unrequested extra defense spending.

As for how much other conservatives oppose war, who they vote for will say more than any words.

holocaust here here on earth. The Romneys, like all good devout Mormons, will certainly have at least a years' worth of survival supplies stored away, probably in a couple of homes at least, to bring them through this period.

After the first coming in end times, there'll be a second coming and all evil people still living will be destroyed, then in a first resurrection good Mormons and Christians will go live in the three tiers of heaven, good non-Christians in general will live right here on earth, or perhaps other inhabited planets, bad people somewhere else, and the really evil ones in some outer place. These resurrections will take place over 1000 years, Mormons first, etc. Don't remember more details, but all the Mormons I used to know back in California believed the world as we know it now was coming to an end soon. Roe v. Wade alone was proof Satan was walking the earth since they believed the Constitution was divinely inspired.
