Obammy must be real proud of his legacy to Hawaii.

They want Americans to be more and more dependent on the government (BIG government). They want to "take care" of us because they don't think we can take care of ourselves. They want to be the USSR, not the USA.

They're running out of voters, that's why they - need to let illegals vote,

this would be a "racist" thing to say here. That's sarcastic, I know, but it's based on earlier posts.
I don't think that's racist, actually. I think we all agree on legal immigrant entry - it's the ones already here we disagree on
[ In Reply To ..]
I think the legal application process should be overhauled and streamlined (and unable to be bribed) AND I think stronger border enforcement is necessary.

It's not that I don't want immigrants here, from any country, I want proven non-violent immigrants here, but legally, to avoid their own exploitation and discrimination when they get here.

And I want the ones that already are here, especially children who had no choice, who have proven they're nonviolent criminals and productive members of society to have the right to stay :)

But I can't speak for everyone.

How 'bout we just start shipping people out based on character instead of race, though?

I'm all for that. Most of our politicians and CEOs would be gone, though ;)

The problem is we need a justice department that - enforces the law and
[ In Reply To ..]
prosecutes corrupt lawyers who coach their clients to lie. We need to stop illegals from crossing, hold those we do catch in a secure facility on the border, and quickly deport almost all illegals after a swift but fair hearing. We also need to prosecute those who profit from employing illegals.

As for the children, I'm afraid down the road some politician will say, we shouldn't separate the children from their parents, we need to bring their families in.

The Democrat party has been largely successful - in their long range plan of

This started in the depression when the progressive movement really took hold in the USA. Back then we had enough people who were still devoted to America, but not so much now. The immigrants will be allowed to vote and forever change this country.

just like Calvin Coolidge. The media has done a great job in mischaracterizing them. If it wasn't for double standards, the media would have no standards at all.
Religious freedom law and deportation are expensive and not smaller government - and theTea Party demonized themselves
[ In Reply To ..]
Religious freedom law and stronger deportation is proof they don't really care about government spending OR small government, they just want control over the government and civil liberties themselves.

Again, the hypocrisy in what they say VS. what they do has been their own worst enemy.
Religious freedom is already a right in the - Constitution; it's free.
[ In Reply To ..]
If deportation is necessary then the justice department should enforce that. The money is already allocated.
Govt. PROTECTION of religious freedom is in the constitution, but PROMOTION of religion - is NOT in our constitution - JS
[ In Reply To ..]
There's a difference between protecting civil liberties and promoting them.

The Tea Party knows this. Don't they play that card themselves when it's about other minorities? ;)

rights are actually quite common and unremarkable. Modern anti-corporatism is the driving force behind this misrepresentation. There is no conflict of constitutional rights here between the employees and the employer. If anything, it's the other way around.
But they were not law-protected. The Tea Party wants special law, ergo my point - they don't really want small govt- JS
[ In Reply To ..]
What they really mean is that they want the government to do what THEY want them to do instead;)
I'm not sure where you're getting your information - but the Tea Party is really
[ In Reply To ..]
the Constitutional Party, for limited government and that requires individual responsibility. People should be able to exercise their religion in their business as well as private.

The right to discriminate against other beliefs requires changing law - that takes govt. action
[ In Reply To ..]
Fact: In order to obtain this "right" for private business, new laws are required, which requires government action.

But keep repeating that "laissez-faire government" mantra anyway, if it helps justify support for the Tea Party. IMO, they do a lot of things contrary to what they say.

Also, both Israel and the United states sold arms and further nuclear equipment to Iran during the Iran-Iraq War (that's what Iran Contra was about, under Reagan, but there was no conclusive proof he knew.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran%E2%80%93Contra_affair

However, if we speculate that Obama knows about Jade Helm, IRS scandals, and the NSA, then we have to allow that Reagan knew about Iran-Contra too, sorry).

There is no conclusive evidence Iran has a bomb yet, we just suspect they are. However, they claim they stopped using the equipment for this purpose in 2003 under religious and government edit from the Ayotollah.

When intelligent conservative extremists stop insulting everyone else's intelligence by posting false propaganda - clearly with intent to scare and persuade (and knowing full well these statements are not true) - we will better listen.

I provided a link to the 9/11 hearings just to show that although Bush was and is mocked, the hearings show the terrorists threats were real.

Speaking of appeasement, unsure it's realized the link provided concludes Bush, the FBI - & the CIA ignored the threats? JS

[ In Reply To ..]
So I don't understand how in one sentence Obama can be called an appeaser, but in the very next sentence, I'm provided with a link, supposedly to prove "Bush was right", but in actuality, concludes that Bush, the FBI and the CIA ignored very real threats.

But OBAMA's an appeaser like Chamberlain?

Why didn't Bush take action, despite not only the threats, but knowing OBL had bombed the WTC in 1991 with a car bomb already?

THAT is the billion-dollar question.

Bush is not mocked for claiming threats by Osama bin Laden - Bush is mocked because he ignored those threats, as well as despite knowing conclusively now that Osama bin Liden was responsible, turned the focus from Afghanistan to Saddam Hussein in Iraq anyway. And he did that by manipulating the American public to believe that Saddam was the bigger threat, claiming weapons of mass destruction and conclusive ties to OBL to justify it, without providing an ounce of evidence to support that claim. In fact, that very report admittedly cannot prove WMD or clear ties between OBL and Hussein, it just speculates it was possible, but no conclusive evidence was found.

And lo and behold, what happened?

No weapons of mass destruction were ever found in Iraq and Geiger counters detected not even a trace of radioactivity in the area, which would've showed up even a year after their removal. And OBL was at the Afghanistan/Pakistan border the entire time, what a shocker!

We all know what happened here, though we will never be able to prove it - Iraq is oil-rich land and we know that's how the Bushes and Cheney made most of their money, significant interest in oil companies.

The US government, Rumsfeld and Bush's daddy supported Saddam Hussein rise in the 80s, but when he took control of Kuwait and the helm of Iraq, he cut them out of the deal, essentially spitting in Bush's face.

Though Saddam WAS horrible to the Kuwaiti people, Iraq was an oil deal gone bad both times - period.

*** If you don't believe that, consider this: Do you honestly believe we'd be dumb enough to attack any country in "pre-emptive strike" we knew for a fact had weapons of mass destruction? ***

If so, then you'll believe I'm Angelina Jolie.

And if you don't believe that BOTH Iraq Wars were BS, consider this - if human rights violations were the reason we went to Iraq War I, tell me why we've never helped Nepal, who has been repeatedly raided, terrorized by China, including torturing pacifist Buddhist monks?

Three reasons:

1. There is no oil in Nepal.

2. China really DOES have weapons of mass destruction and would use
them.

3. We already owed a boatload of money to China and were about to
owe much more.

It just makes me sick to my stomach how many of our young men died in Iraq, over oil and a personal Bush/Cheney vendetta, as well as how many lives, money and time were wasted there when had we stayed in Afghanistan, we would've had OBL years before we finally found him!

Though there are Republicans I could tolerate as president (including Jeb because he forges his own individual path from them somewhat, like Bobby Kennedy),I honestly believe Jeb's brother, George W. Bush, as well as Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld, have guiltier criminal minds than Nixon ever thought of having, and that all 3 need to be tried on criminal charges and even treason for those crimes, as well as General Betray-us...erm...General Petraeus.

But that will never happen because of the money and power the Bushes have, as well as they're good manipulators - people continue to give their loyalty to him because they are loyal to the party itself and their own delusional belief that personal wealth is proof of God's blessing and covers a multitude of sin.

Bill Clinton knew that he was a real threat also. - "One way or ther other, we

"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program." - President Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998

"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process." - Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998

"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force-- if necessary-- to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security." - Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002

"Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime ... He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation ... And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction ... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real ..." - Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weap ons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members .. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons." - Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002

"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction." - Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002

"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country." - Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

but when conservatives drone on and on blaming Obama for things like "economic collapse," "domestic spying," and "illegal immigration," as if all that happened because of Obama alone, I wonder about what alternate universe conservatives are living in. Do conservatives understand how the legacy thing works? That legacy thing is what you leave and not what you inherit. LOL.

It seems as if conservatives think everything was going great and then Obama showed up, bringing the sudden "economic collapse" on January 20, 2009. Thanks, Obama! LOL.

Pay no attention to the fact that George W. Bush started the NSA warrantless surveillance and "domestic spying" in September 2001 and authorized PRISM and implemented that whole NSA ball of wax before Obama took office; it's just easier to blame that whole thing on Obama....... because reasons and liberals! Thanks, Obama! LOL.

We got "illegal immigration" now too, and we have Obama to thank for it! Never had that before Obama got here from Kenya........ illegally! Funny how all those illegal immigrants showed up the same day Obama did. LOL.

The one high-profile Republican that did was Lee Iaccoca. He wrote a book about it in 2007.

We are "throwing away the constitution", he said, as well as "Where have all the leaders gone?"

Conservatives have taken that excerpt out of his book and actually tried to use it with Obama, but he very clearly stated it was George Bush and the book was written in 2007. Great book, btw.
Yes, Bush started the NSA warrantless surveillance - Truthhurts
[ In Reply To ..]
But Obama expanded it. Under Bush, they still had to get warrants and only in the jurisdiction of the party they wanted to use surveillance, but under Obama, it was no longer valid only in that judge's jurisdiction, but could be made valid by any judge anywhere in the entire United States. Not sure anymore, but I believe they expanded WHO and WHAT could be used to gather information even if there was no evidence that person was a threat.

Yes, the economic collapse is not quite Obama's fault BUT he voted AGAINST regulating the very industry that caused the collapse. He voted for TARP but they botched that by giving the money to the very people that caused the collapse and/or businesses that later claimed bankruptcy (GM claimed bankruptcy in spite of the stimulus) while many mom-and-pop dealerships were forced to close throwing MORE people out of jobs, Cash for Clunkers, etc. were ALL mishandled use of TARP money.

Illegal immigration has always been around BUT ICE and the Border Patrol were allowed to deport the illegals. Obama and the DOJ decided to stop it and decided to only deport those with criminal records even though it's been found that they even left the criminal illegals free reign in this country without deporting them.

I don't appreciate the sarcasm in the last paragraph. Again, insinuating that people are idiots if they don't agree with the vision of an angelic POTUS, FLOTUS and hand-picked administration is really someone living in a perfect world. There is no such world.
Incorrect "Facts" and Invented Straw Man Arguments......... Nothing New - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
You said: "Yes, Bush started the NSA warrantless surveillance. But Obama expanded it. Under Bush, they still had to get warrants..."

Bush started the warrantless surveillance, but they still had to get warrants? Incorrect. They didn't have to get warrants at all, thus the reason it was referred to as "warrantless" surveillance. The whole NSA issue is complicated, hard to find a simple timeline.

https://www.eff.org/nsa-spying/timeline

Less than a month after 9/11/2001, then President George W. Bush's signed an executive order dated 10/04/2001 that allowed the NSA to conduct warrantless surveillance. Fast forward to 2004, you have the FBI director and many high ranking officials at the Department of Justice threatening to resign because they refused to extend the warrantless surveillance, and March 11, 2004, President Bush makes the decision to extend the program without Department of Justice approval.

In December 2005, The New York Times broke the story after sitting on it for an entire year, even though Bush had met with them in the oval office and asked them not to publish it. The next day on 12/17/2005, Bush confirms the warrantless wiretapping program. On 12/23/2005, the New York Times reveals NSA spying program was much larger than Bush acknowledged. On 05/11/2006, USA Today reports that NSA was collecting all Americans' phone calls for database: "The NSA program reaches into homes and businesses across the nation by amassing information about the calls of ordinary Americans—most of whom aren't suspected of any crime."

Fast forward to July 2008 (Bush still in office), the FISA Amendments Act was passed by Congress on July 2007 (yes, Senator Obama voted for it), which allowed the NSA to conduct warrantless wiretapping of international communications legally. Also, telecom companies were granted immunity for assisting the NSA.

Here is video of Bush signing the FISA Amendments Act July 10, 2008:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CiZVcfFeus0

Amid a number of legal challenges, the program continued for the rest of Bush's second term and through the Obama administration, when Obama signed a 5-year extension of the FISA Amendments Act in late 2012.

Bush administration collected data for years with no warrants. Facts are verifiable, and blaming Obama as somehow "expanding" something he kept in place that had been in ongoing litigation and hashed and rehashed in courtrooms for years is simply incorrect.

You said: Obama "voted AGAINST regulating the very industry that caused the collapse." All capital lettering does not automatically turn incorrect information into a fact. If you are referring to the Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005, which would have established a single, independent regulatory body with jurisdiction over Fannie and Freddie, that bill made it out of committee in the Senate but was never brought up for consideration. At that time, Republicans had a majority in the Senate and controlled the agenda. Democrats never got the chance to vote against it or to mount a filibuster to block it, but if you'd like to supply some other information proving that Obama "voted AGAINST regulating the very industry that caused the collapse," I'd be more than happy to read it. I think conservatives are fed a lot of misinformation that they assume is correct, and that information is incorrect. If there was a vote I missed, please let me know.

As far as illegal immigration, by September 2011, the number of removed illegal immigrants from the US during the Obama administration exceeded the number of removals during the ENTIRE previous administration of George W. Bush. The government has limited resources, yet still Obama is deporting illegals in far, far greater numbers than the prior administration. I don't remember a single peep out of Republicans complaining about the Bush administration's handling of illegal immigrants and how few were being deported. It would be costly and pretty much impossible for the government to round up and deport every illegal immigrant. ICE has limited resources in the form of money, employees, jail space/housing, etc. and are forced to prioritize how those, so migrant farm laborers and their families are not as high on ICE's priority as drug traffickers. Would conservatives be interested in funding ICE to the levels that would be required to deport more millions than the millions already being deported in record numbers? Ball's in their court now, and I don't see them making any moves, particularly since there is an immigration reform bill approved by the Senate in 2013 and been sitting on the desk of John Boehner for almost 2 years now. Republicans should let that come to a vote, but they disagree amongst themselves on immigration reform, and it's so much easier to just blame Obama for their lack of a cohesive stance on the issue. Getting my popcorn ready for the debates starting in August when this issue will be front and center and candidates will take a stand, flip flops on the issue will be highlighted, and the hypocrisy on the subject will be there in living color for all to see.

In the meantime, "you go" Obama and do whatever you can with your pen since the bozos in the clown cars can't make a decision on the issue and won't vote on the Senate bill sitting in the House languishing for almost 2 years now. Democrats and Republicans in the Senate voted in a bipartisan manner 68-32 majority, including 14 Republicans, for immigration reform, a bill that Senator Marco Rubio helped write, champion, and voted FOR, but Republicans in the House refusing to make a decision on the immigration bill and their disagreement with each other among the GOP is the only holdup in dealing with the issue. Blaming Obama for their utter incompetence and failing to address the issue and allowing it to come up for a vote is the truth. Rubio is now against his own bill in order to appease the voters. Does anybody actually believe that Rubio is against it? Well, conservatives are gullible, but it's Rubio's handiwork nevertheless.

Lastly, you said: "I don't appreciate the sarcasm in the last paragraph. Again, insinuating that people are idiots if they don't agree with the vision of an angelic POTUS, FLOTUS and hand-picked administration is really someone living in a perfect world. There is no such world."

Nice straw man argument you got there where you claim that I insinuate the world is somehow perfect so that you can knock the "perfect world" argument down. LOL. Where do I even say that? I don't remotely say anything like that. In fact, I do spend a few paragraphs explaining how the world was imperfect when Obama took office, so how you deduced that I implied it was perfect when I did exactly the opposite is pure fiction on your part in order to win your own made up point..... straw man argument. I don't know how many times I have to type this out on this board, but liberals do NOT conflate religion with politics in the way that conservatives do. I have said this repeatedly whenever anyone floats a straw man argument accusing a liberal of saying anything remotely like "angelic POTUS, FLOTUS." Firstly, I don't think there is a single person on earth that I would ever in a million years describe as angelic..... NOT ONE, but I reserve my right to describe one thusly if one ever shows up (and not holding my breath on that either). Secondly, how you are coming up with the straw man arguments about the "FLOTUS," "hand-picked administration," and the whole "perfect world" are your own creation but certainly not anything that I said.

Those manufactured straw man arguments in the place of actual debate are quite transparent but nothing at all new on this board.

Have a nice day. :)

Mary Landrieu (D-La.) walked out of the Senate Cloak Room and approached Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.). “ ...

You can vote for Hillary if you don't give a crap about this country, but not me.  As a independent, I will vote for any candidate who is ...

Indeed, Limbaugh sees her endorsement of the Democratic candidate in the New York congressional race as fatal to so-called RINOs everywhere because it will expose their true character, leaving true Republicans with a more ...
