No more freedom of the press
Posted: Jun 21, 2017
Known as Trump LIES. The media is being shut down. This is the part of media that was transparent, the actual television or recording.
As of June 5, the communications staff stopped referring to the briefings as a “daily” event in archives on the White House website. Spicer spoke with members of the media for 34 minutes Monday in an appearance that the White House barred from being televised or recorded. Even then, Spicer’s answers to basic questions in many cases offered little or no new information.;
Yes, we are slowly seeing the dictatorship - take place.
[ In Reply To ..]
Many of us have been seeing it coming on since he took office.
How so? Can you be specific in detail? The press still - prints whatever it wants, whether it's
[ In Reply To ..]
the truth or not. We still have the second amendment, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, etc.
Please tell us about how we are living in a dictatorship.
If we lived in a dictatorship, simply posted that on a forum - like this would get your arrested.
[ In Reply To ..]
Do you even know what a dictatorship means?
A dictator does things like deny a group of people tax exempt status - for political purposes, like Obama did
[ In Reply To ..]
with the Tea Party. A dictator only enforces laws he/she agrees with, like Obama did.
A dictator tries to inject himself/herself into state elections which is unconstitutional and when 22 states objected the Obama administration used the NSA to try and hack into their system. Look up Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky.
Shall we talk about Fast and Furious gun running, Benghazi or any of the other Obama scandals?
Dictatorship - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
Comment was that it was "slowly" becoming a dictatorship.
This dictatorship is more along the lines of personal liberties and freedoms being restricted. However, I should not speak of fascist dictatorship as some could be offended at the analogy...
What do you mean no more freedom of the press? They can and - do print anything they want,
[ In Reply To ..]
including lies and spin.
They should do more off camera briefings rather than on camera. - These snarky journalists try to get
[ In Reply To ..]
TV face time and ask vitriolic snarky hate filled questions, usually the same ones over and over again.
Besides, with all the technology available today it could be on on the Internet.
I suppose it could be like a true dictatorship - where they set up the camera
[ In Reply To ..]
make their statement, no questions and leave. Is that the preference?
Daily press briefings are not in the Constitution. What does - a press briefing have to do with freedom
[ In Reply To ..]
of the press?
Press briefing - definition - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
I would guess it is informing the press of the administrations views and positions on topics of interest.
No one said they had to do press briefings...that is sort of a norm?
But, if they are GOING TO HAVE press briefings (this is where the freedom thing comes in) they should allow the press to record and film the proceedings to report to the people. To rely strictly on the written interpretation is a set up to make this a secondary game of debate through the written press or TWITTER. Yuk! Fits the leadership brain power, 40 characters or less.
Now I understand why civil wars are started. The left is trying to - overthrow the traditional United States
[ In Reply To ..]
and they don’t intend to back down.
The favorite expression when it comes to Islam is: “The poor kid was ‘radicalized." This term fits perfectly what the left is now doing to viciously promote its ideology. The similarities are striking. Whether it is Imams in mosques promoting vile hatred or liberals doing the same, both produce the same results - crazed killers being loosed on civilization.
Words really do matter.
The left uses the military term like "resistance." Imagine if - Trump had lost and announces he had joined
[ In Reply To ..]
"the resistance." He would be accused of inciting violence.
Just imagine if the Germans had resisted in the 1930s. sm - VTMT
[ In Reply To ..]
Resistance is not a bad word. It usually means standing up for what is good and right. Remember the French Resistance? The French Resistance (French: La Résistance française) is the name used to denote the collection of French resistance movements that fought against the Nazi German occupation of France and against the collaborationist Vichy régime during World War II.
Interesting, you admit you're another Bernie supporter who wants - violence sm
[ In Reply To ..]
It's getting a little tiresome. But it makes sense. Violence is the last resort of the ineffective.
I think you should do it. People in prison and with felonies on their record can't vote.
Love this! I just have one question - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
How will you form an effective resistance when you believe in gun control?
Your imaginary government (the one that took all the guns away) won't suddenly say, "Oh you want an uprising. Great! Good job! Here's your gun. Be sure to give it back when you're done."
Sorry that was short-sighted of me. I forgot that you can still make bombs, run over people on the street, and stab them with knives.
I hear ISIS is looking for new members. Maybe you can join your resistance to theirs.
The first thing Hitler did was to nationalize healthcare and - take away guns.
[ In Reply To ..]
xx
But if it were a white terrorist - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
The poor kid had a bad childhood, bad influences and now he is mentally ill. I don't see much of a difference.
I'm not a fan of either excuse.
As to overthrowing the "traditional" United States, I am sure you and your Republican sewing club are enjoying many benefits of "overthrow of traditions" in the U.S.---You just don't like any change from your comfortable position....no matter who suffers in the process.
Point is--they are not allowed to primary source - no recording, no film
[ In Reply To ..]
Press reporting becomes a he said/she said...taking it down in the dirty trenches where Trump lives.
Spicer/Trump doesn't like it when they show the broadcasts (real time) or recordings because then they have to do clean up on what they "really meant" since they do not communicate clearly.
And therein lies the difficulty of working in the - Trump administration
[ In Reply To ..]
And probably why no one is willing to.
Why IS it so hard for them to communicate, why IS the message so garbled and changing all the time?
He made that Sekulow fellow, who is a top notch lawyer, sound like Kellyanne, and you know that's not good.
In point of fact, they ALL sound like that because they are caught between what Trump actually said (which is invariably out there on video or tweet) and what he wants them to sell that he means - if he even knows what that is.
It must be exhausting trying to please Trump, and they all have to know they could be axed at any time. Plus now they have the added bonus of having to get a lawyer in case they are implicated in any of the multiple investigations going on of this administration.
No wonder he's having a hard time getting any staff, good or bad. This is not Apprentice, Trump, so stop acting like it is. Dispense with the dirty tricks and realize how transparent everything is and MUST be in order to have a functioning presidency.
Sounds like Democrat talking points. I thinks Jay Sekulow is - great. I wish he would replace

Jeff Sessions.

I find it disturbing that it is assumed on this thread, and generally in the USA that everyone follows Christian practice.
