Obama press conference just now

Posted: Jun 15, 2012

Obama needs treatment for anger management.  I have never seen a president stand before the American public and act so ridiculous and unproffesional.  In my opinion the reporter he addressed was correct!

In the face of the horrible things these people have called him and how he has been treated with such mouth-foaming viciousness I believe the man has shown remarkable constraint....much more than I ever possibly could have.

the American people not having a press conference and taking questions. This was rude and everyone in the Washington Press Corp knows it. The president was surprised and showed he can get angry now and then. In fact, I was very proud of our president today and think he did the right thing. He partially fulfilled another campaign promise by this executive order. The do nothing Congress was not acting so he took the matter into his own hands, giving young illegals some breathing room and a chance to prove that they would be a good candidate for citizenship. Good job Mr. President!

The reporter was not the least bit disrespectful. In fact, he was so calm and soft spoken, it was very difficult to actually hear his question. Obama on the other hand, behaved exactly with the same rude, obnoxious behavior he did when the Republicans were requested for the health care photo op Obama put on for 7 hours. Obama has no class at all. On top of all that, what about the reports of the LIBERAL press actually chasing the reporter down the street? Talk about a mob mentality! What did the liberal press think they had a right to do to the one lone journalist that actually asked a legitimate question that Obama did not like? Shoot him, tar and feather him? Nice to see there is one journalist left that does not succumb to the bully pulpit and the bully.

I am so surprised to hear you state that "the reporter was not the least bit disrespectful." Since when do reporters interrupt the president in the middle of speaking? That's not at all appropriate or in keeping with accepted rules of order, with which, I imagine, you are well familiar.

Did we watch the same press conference? I did not find Mr. Obama to be at all "rude" or "obnoxious". Again, I am surprised to hear you say this, as I usually find your posts to be a little more circumspect and little less tainted by bias than the average poster here. I guess that's over.

I watched it - the reporter was not rude - anony2

[ In Reply To ..]
I actually thought both sides were okay. The reporter was not rude. He was asking a question. He showed no disrespect. Just wanted an answer to his questions.

On the other hand I didn't think Obama was as bad as I thought he would be (i.e. his usual self). I think he handled it well. A little bit of stumbling on words. He's usually much worse than this. I thought he was okay too.

To me it looks like the reporter was asking a question Obama didn't want to answer. I think he should have gone about it in a different way, but he wasn't rude.

I do think it is wrong however, for Obama to be acting like he thinks he's King passing whatever he wants to without congresses approval. He needs to be held responsible for his actions. If he goes too far there are grounds for impeachment. You don't do whatever the **** you want to do and not get approval. We have laws in place. Just because someone is sitting in the presidents seat does not give them the right to do whatever they want.

Your last point is what truly worries - Trigger Happy

me about another possible 4 years under Obama. Seriously...who died and made him king? There are laws to be followed and steps to be taken. I know the democrats and republicans can't seem to compromise on much of anything....and both sides aren't budging....but there is still a process to follow and Obama is totally disregarding that.

Seriously makes me wonder if we don't have a dictator in the making here.

It's a long read. Hope you're up to it. If not, the gist of it is the Obamas law licenses were never "revoked." POTUS license is voluntarily retired, and FLOTUS is voluntarily inactive. Obama - Ayers - and Factcheck all have ties to the Annenberg Foundation.

It was established before the election that Factcheck is not reliable.

Turns out that FactCheck - which everyone has been referring to as if it were the political Bible, is a baby of the Annenberg Foundation.

Senator Obama was the first Chairman of the Board of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, which was a Division, or Project, of the Annenberg Foundation.the one with a board connected to William Ayers and Barack Obama.

nor is she swayed or distracted by the irrevelant Anneburg Foundation side show approach. There is no public record of disciplinary proceedings on which alleged law license revocation could be based. ...namely, a bogus disciplinary action the wingnuts are trying to peddle in support of hateful lies they tell each other in silly, childish chain emails. The Obamas made a personal choice to inactivate their law licenses because they no longer practice law. Should they ever decide to return to practice, they both are eligible to do so. They simply activate the license and begin paying the fees again. What part of this simple, plain English reality do you not grasp?

You have been provided with links that include a snapshot of ARDC records (Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission of the Supreme Court of Illinois)....an agency that is as nonpartisan as they come. Seeing is not believing in your world. Sorry, but I have no interest in pursuing an open-and-shut case with anyone who makes a conscious choice to remain willfully ***....it's just not my thing. Without providing a link to these fictitious records you so adamantly claim exist, you have no credibility. Zero. Zip. Zilch. Nada. You can post these ridiculous replays about "research, research, research" 'til the cows come home, but it isn't going to change the facts in this matter.

Now, if you will excuse me, I am following the developments in Syria at the moment. I get my information from various sources. You cannot get information alone by using just one site, as we find out with Fact check and Snopes (and others) they are backed by either liberal or conservative money and never are trust worthy (unless you favor the political party they are benefitting).

I look at Politifact. I also look at sites like Reuters. I read other countries news sites because they have no stake in whether a news story benefits one party or the other. Stay away from the MSM in this country. They all have an agenda.

When I hear a news story I will search it. I will read through three pages of articles reading both liberal and conservative sites. You cannot trust just one source. Research who wrote the articles and what their motives are. By reading everything, no matter who much you hate the other side (not you personally, just you as a general term) and no matter how "weird" something may sound, it just may be true.

When you find out that people like Soros, Ayers, or even Rove or Cheney on the other end of the spectrum or funding sites you cannot and absolutely should not trust them.

My two favorite sayings from the TV show, which are true is:

Trust No One & The Truth is Out There

Yes I read Politifact, but I also take what they say and research it more. That is with every site you read. Not 100% of everything they write is the solid truth.

Since Politifact did not write anything about their law licenses themselves, but preferred to put up a link to Factcheck, which we know is not trustworthy, that is one of those subjects you need to research, research, research. Just because Poltifact puts a link to it doesn't mean its correct. Try reading - Records at the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission of the Supreme Court of Illinois. That is a court record on file. Not some site paid for by Soros, Ayers, Obama, or other liberals. Do independent research, court records, or people who have nothing to gain or lose by what they write.

I don't take any one site as the Bible. Also, another reason to research is because one of the sites they list in politifact is a site that write stories like Katie Perry's nude costume, what would dogs look like with eyebrows (had to laugh at that one), and 13 cats having a better summer than you (laughed at that one too).

Again, research, research, research. That's all I'm sayin.

Snopes remains independent, per their website: "The snopes.com web site is (and always has been) a completely independent, self-sufficient entity wholly owned by its operators, Barbara and David Mikkelson, and funded through advertising revenues. Neither the site nor its operators has ever received monies from (or been engaged in any business or editorial relationship with), any sponsor, investor, partner, political party, religious group, business organization, government agency, or any other outside group or organization."

Obama is so used to getting a pass from the press, with no hardball questions at all, and certainly never any push for an explanation, it was clear Obama was very, very angry that anyone would have the audacity not to roll over because Obama said so. To me, Obama looked very childish, like the little spoiled brat that he is. As for him not getting Congress' approval. Shame, shame, shame on you Mr. O and anyone who thinking he can just do whatever he wants. Doesn't matter if he's a democrat or not. We have a congress for a reason. No one person even if they believe they are "King" has the right to just do whatever they want. There is a reason we have a congress. Both democrats and republicans do their job. If they don't approve of something there is a reason for it, and whether or not you agree with their decision makes no difference. President Bush didn't just do whatever he wanted. He always got congresses approval. Mr. O cannot come in and just say I want it so it is. That is not how the system works. I hope congress acts upon this and takes the correct administrative action.

Enough with the phony racism allegations - sm

[ In Reply To ..]

This topic has nothing to do with his race.   A reporter asking a question does not make him a racist.  Especially when the same type of questions were asked to Bush.  Besides, you do know he's half white don't you.  No, that's not a rumor, it's true.  He's said it, his genealogy can prove it.  Not making it up.  Just is very annoying every time I hear some statement about racism when no racism is involved.  This phony racism card needs to stop.  Don’t people even realize by constantly droning up phony racist comments it takes away the seriousness of real racism issues.  There are truly some serious issues going on in regards to racism, so drumming up false allegations lessens the severity of the real issues.

And I would put any republicans ability to handle any questions against Mr. "uh, er, um, uh, uh, em, er, uh, uh, uh, er, em, er, uh" O.

A reporter was asking a question.  If he would have answered the question that would have been it.  But no, that was too difficult.  He had to play the “I am king, hear me roar” game, only in the end looking like the court jester.  Do you understand now why other countries are laughing at us.

His ineptness at his job, unable to think on his own, inexperience, lack of knowledge on issues, lack of compassion for the people in the country will be his undoing.  If you think people with anger management issues are dignified, well don't know what to say to that.

I'll tell you this though...I will take President Bush's good nature, kind personality, witty sense of humor.   Someone who understands the struggles that people like myself go through.  Someone who understood not everyone is going to agree with them and actually has said “it's okay to disagree with me” instead of “who disagreed with me, I want their name”.  Someone who would come out and actually admit if he was wrong on issues, take the blame for the mistakes made under his watch and give credit to other people when it was due and not take credit for things he had nothing to do with.  Someone who puts you at ease and someone who makes you feel proud to be an American.  No, Bush was not the perfect president.  No president is (even JFK himself), but compared to what we are stuck with now makes me miss the jovial, caring President Bush.  The President who I felt safe at nights when I went to sleep.  I'll go back to when more people had jobs and could get jobs.  Where I as a middle income person could make something with my life and could look forward to a future.  Where we felt as a nation we were all in the same country working towards the same goal.  Where the constitution and founding fathers were respected.  I'll take that over someone with anger management problems, dividing the country according to party or race, proves he refuses to work with republicans and calls anyone not in his party the “enemy”.  Someone who makes statements regarding individual cases before he has any facts about the cases or someone who thinks he can make it all better by having a beer.  Someone who is first to jump on the ship and cry racism when a young black man is killed by another race (when he doesn’t even know the facts of the case), but stays silent when an innocent white young woman with young children is hacked to death in an obvious racially motivated case.  Where’s the cry of “she could be my daughter”.  Even Bush wasn’t that stupid so say something so racially hate bating as they “could be my child”.  But no, Nothing!  Silence!  Tired of the unfairness, blame game, always someone else’s fault on decisions he makes himself.  Making wall street and CEOs richer than ever while proving he doesn't care about the suffering the people are going through in this country, until it’s re-election time again that is.  And people are now saying “and I thought Bill Clinton was the biggest megalomaniac”.  Someone who feels he has to compare himself to every other president in our history, always of course inserting how he did it better than anyone ever did in history and puts himself above truly great leaders like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Abraham Lincoln, when he has done nothing to justify that.  Yep, sorry I’ll take someone who has compassion and humility and who cares and proves he cares about the people.  Someone who will offer assistance when you need it and try and help find a solution to the problems instead of a beer.

And that is my opinion.

There are loads more. None of the above has to do with race and everything to do with Obama's complete incompetence. You want more, don't believe above? Try ditching the entitlement mindset, Dems talking points, get off your lazy *** and start looking it up yourself. I owe nothing to anyone on this board; if you're too lazy to do any research - Oh well, guess you need a place to park you bike.

What she wrote is not name calling. She did not call a specific poster that name. She made a general statement about what she feels. There are many general statements made on this board directed at both sides that are people expressing their opinions on how they feel, but unless a poster specifically calls another poster a name directly that is not name calling.

We may not always like what the other side has to say. Reading all the posts it looks like both sides do not want to hear the other side give their opinion, but the board is here for people to discuss issues and express their feelings. Every poster has that right. Also, that poster was not directing her post to you, she was responding and agreeing with another poster.
apparently, what is good for the goose is not - good for the gander

I don't really care if someone wants to use foul language or hurl insults. But if that is the case, the same rules should apply to all.

It's hilarious that some posters play these games; it's even more hilarious that we have moderators sticking up for them!
More hilarious is the hypocrisy of posters - that say what they want

endlessly accuse posters of racism and then want to restrict others free speech. What is "good for the goose is good for the gander". BTW - Try reading the OPs WHOLE thread. Posters constantly and directly called "racist" all the time by poster(s) with no fact to support slanderous attack of racism. When poster(s) don't get their way, they start with the tantrums and lie about what is posted. Glad to see OP did not back down to the false allegations. More glad to see the Moderator can see through these hypocritical poster(sS). If the shoe fits.....
that's right... - sm

The word racism was thrown around quite a bit wasn't it? I even happen to be one of those posters called racist "...by poster(s) with no fact to support slanderous attack of racism."

In fact, I was anointed the "board racist" by several warm and nonhypocritical posters who couldn't understand why "Imperial Wizard" brought KKK to mind for me. Color me confused.

There was no endless back and forth from me, no accusations of racism, and yet, here I am today: the board racist.

I seek not to restrict the free speech of others. I would, however, like to enjoy the same free speech in sticking up for myself as is enjoyed by those posters who seek to harass and assail.

Reading all the links on the internet there were some Bush haters, but I'm glad I came across a lot of other links that had some nice things to say about President Bush and the good things he did while President.

I think I said no president is perfect. Some people in Iraq were glad to be out from under Sadam. But I'm sure there are those who didn't like him just like there are those in Afganistan who don't like Obama.

Interesting obseration I read - sm

Today I read someone wrote:

"If you cheered when a reporter threw a shoe at Bush, but you booed when a reporter threw a question at Obama, you might be a liberal".

Just thought that was cute and obviously true.

understand that true American patriots defend their president no matter their party from attacks both foreign and domestic.

Your statement is wrong - see message

[ In Reply To ..]
Want to think again about what you called that poster. Cos I see it here. What YOU don't understand is true American Patriots defend their country and the constitution from terrorists both foreign and domestic.

Military Oath:

I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic...

They wrote domestic in for a reason. We, as true American Patriots protect the constitution and the office. Not a man, especially if he is not working for the country, but for our enemies (not saying Obama is of course, I'm using the "man" as a general statement, could be about Bush or Clinton or Regan or anyone who holds the office).

Also:

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

That doesn't say I pledge allegiance to Mr. Obama or Mr. Bush, no "to the Flag of the United States".

All of these were written for a reason. Everything is for the country and the Constitution. Not one man.

Besides, where was this loyalty when a shoe was thrown at Bush. No defending him I see.

That poster hit the nail right on the head.

Too bad the Imperial Wizard Obama has no - interest in the oath he took

[ In Reply To ..]
Imperial Wizard never misses an opportunity to trash America - a lot like the libs on this board. "Move to Somalia, I hear it's beautiful this time of year." Source: Misguided liberal/socialist on this board that is not nearly as funny to others as she is inside her own head.

Interesting obsveration I read - And accurate

Not to mention the rude treatment Regan got during amnesty news conference. Bad behavior is acceptable by liberals because most of it comes from liberals; otherwise, they would be on a steady diet of eating their own.
