Why do you assume that liberals like this? - a lib, not a communist

[ In Reply To ..]
Frankly, I didn't like the Patriot Act when Bush signed it into law after 911, and I don't like it now. I find the way you asked your question antagonistic and not inviting of serious discussion. Perhaps more people would feel like engaging with you in a civil manner if you didn't project such hostility.

Because you defend these criminals every chance you get. - That's why.

talk about posting just to get an argument going! - lol

When do I "defend these criminals every chance I get?" - a lib, not a communist

[ In Reply To ..]
How the heck do you even know who I am or what I believe? Now I know you're just being argumentative for the sake of being argumentative.
you was plural you (liberals) - (sm)

He can never do any wrong. It's sickening.
Do you think all liberals are the same? - We're people, not robots.
[ In Reply To ..]
There are plenty of us that are disappointed with the president for various reasons. Just because we don't nit-pick on stupid things doesn't mean we aren't concerned about decisions that are being made.

It doesn't seem like you want to talk about it, you just want to bad-mouth liberals.
liberals - xx
[ In Reply To ..]
Not nit-pick "stupid things"? What "stupid things" would you be referring to? Benghazi, IRS targeting, NSA spying, etc? What would you consider "smart things" to nit-pick?
Why would those issues be stupid ones? Of course - I wasn't talking about real issues.
[ In Reply To ..]
I was talking about stupid nit-picking things, like what snacks they served kids at the Easter Egg Roll, or long lines people wait in for events, or Obamaphones. There are many, many things brought up here that I consider stupid nit-picking. Why you would suggest Benghazi or NSA spying as stupid nit-picking is beyond me, other than it just goes to show some people always assume the worst about liberals and what we care about.

Have a nice day.
stupid - xx
[ In Reply To ..]
I never considered Benghazi, IRS, etc. to be "stupid" nor did I imply that. I was inquiring if that is what you yourself felt to be "stupid" issues. Most true conservatives are concerned with the big issues and liberals seem to think it is all water under the bridge.
I'm aware of what you were implying. - That *liberals* think those issues
[ In Reply To ..]
are stupid. I wasn't saying *you* thought they were.

You assumed the stupid nit-picking I was talking about was Benghazi, the IRS, etc. You assumed liberals find those issues trivial. I was talking about truly stupid issues, as I mentioned above.
As a liberal said below 'scandal street blind alley'. - Implies they are untrue.

I have no idea what that means, sorry. - nm

It's just a tactic to incite an argument rather than invite a - discussion
[ In Reply To ..]
By insulting one group in one fell swoop (all Democrats are sheeple or all Republicans are racist) by a generalization, it puts us on the defensive. It sidetracks and takes away from whatever the issue may be because the first response is to defend ourselves rather than debate the issue. They purposefully minimize the issue by focusing on a personal attack from the get-go. They don't want to debate the issue.

Note the difference when just an article is posted without a personal commentary versus one that is posted with a swipe at "all" of one party. The debate usually, not always, is much cleaner (sometimes unfortunately nonexistent) when an article with a noninflammatory remark is attached.

No, actually what it means is open your eyes - get - your head out - whichever. (sm)
[ In Reply To ..]
These are things that really happened. Ignoring them and calling it a blind alley won't help. He is guilty as charged.
"get your head out" of what? Are you trying to - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
curse on the board without actually cursing?

If not, then please explain what or where "get your head out" means.
Bingo!! - The "argumentative" OP

Serious question... then why - xx

[ In Reply To ..]
if you don't like the policies of this current administration and aren't fond of the pres, aren't happy with Benghazi, IRS scandal, NSA spying, why then do you still side with them? What is it going to take for liberals to see the light? Will nothing less than arming people who disembowel soldiers and devour their hearts be enough for you? Oh yeah, that's been done and video taped and broadcast, but still you side with someone who sides with these animals? Get real. The democratic party is NOT the democratic party you knew and loved. I used to be a democrat and liberal, but it has morphed into something I don't want any part of.

Have you never had a republican president you - disagreed with, but

[ In Reply To ..]
still considered them better than the democrat they ran against?

That's my situation. I've been in this situation many times. Every president has had its downside for me.

Do you realize how the republican party has also morphed into something new? Believe it or not, I voted for Ron Paul at one point in my life. I regret it now, after seeing the direction the Tea Party took. This time around, I voted for Obama (twice) and I don't regret it.

Both parties have their problems and we all just have to go with what we feel is right. It doesn't make one side good or bad, it just means we're all human and have different priorities.

John McCain seems pretty anxious to arm al Qaeda, among - Libby

other conservatives in Congress, but he and Graham, et al. wouldn't know what to do if they can't go to war against someone (even if it winds up being US they go to war against).

It's sad (and a SIN) that America's largest export is WAR.

I'm still wondering why - ...

[ In Reply To ..]
"you people" is identified as name-calling, but "you liberals" is not. Go figure.

Not many did, but Biden drafted it and Bill Clinton signed - it before Bush did

How I wish that people knew more about the history of this nation, and about the expansion of government with more agencies, more laws, more regulations, more inspections, and other impediments to personal success that has occurred especially since the 1930s, and in which NONE of the parties in power have been blameless. Folks, we now have officials shutting down lemonade stands and fining people for collecting rainwater from their own roofs.  If you have a koi pond in your back yard, the ...

Why do Democrats think it okay for Obama to force us to buy health insurance but for government to stay out of our bedrooms?  Why is it okay in some cases but not in others.  I am a healthy person and rarely need any healthcare.  Why should I subsidize people who make unhealthy decisions?  I think we need to have affordable catastrophic health insurance but we don't need to provide insurance for hang nails or the sniffles. ...

We Own The GovernmentOct 10, 2013
In the current fight over the government shutdown, Republicans are simply representing the views of the American people. Americans didn't ask for Obamacare, they don't want it, but now their insurance premiums are going through the roof, their doctors aren't accepting it, and their employers are moving them into part-time work -- or firing them -- to avoid the law's mandates. Contrary to Obama's promises, it turns out: You can't keep your doctor, you can't ...

Hi all- I'm not wanting to start a big fight here, so that's not my purpose.  I just want to address an issue that many people share. And would like thoughts on both sides. It's perfume (not including scented body sprays) users who use too much.  This can easily happen to the wearer, particularly if you wear the same perfume every day. Your nose gets used to it, so you might be using more than you initially did and not even realize it. (Kind of like someone who smokes d ...

The results aren’t pretty, the paper points out. A whopping 35 percent ...
