GOP Senators Refusing To Work Past 2PM, Invoking Obscure Rule

Senate Republicans fuming over the passage of health care reform are now refusing to work past 2 p.m. -- a tactic they can employ by invoking a little-known Senate rule.On Wednesday, the Judiciary Committee was forced to cancel a hearing as was the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Ha! Don't make me laugh. A supporter of the democrats have no right to say anyone should be fired except those in their own party.

Invoking rules? Lets see...can we say... "Slaughter house rule." How about "Deem and Pass rule". Or how about can we say the "Lets not listen to what the American people want and we'll do whatever the heck we want to do rule." Or the "Lets see how many people we can ridicule if they are not voting for the bill, and pay them bribes in the tunes of millions of dollars, promise them stuff that we clearly have no intention of keeping that promise in the first place rule". Or can we say "Lets not let the representatives go home for the weekend and force them to stay and vote on this bill on a day when we should be closed because if they do go home they will be talking the their constituents and they will come back and vote no, so we will keep them here and make them vote before they have a chance to talk to the people they represent, because we don't care what the people want rule".

So, your upset that some senators refused to work past 2pm. Well you know what....so what. After what the democrats did to the American people by ignoring the will of the people and defecating on us they need to be taught a lesson.

BTW - 8/1/08: Hoping that the nationâ��s energy problem will go away if they just go home and ignore it for a few weeks, the Democrats have voted to adjourn early, turned off the lights in the lower chamber, and are trying to lock the doors to make sure no business can be done until September.

The fly in the ointment? Fifteen or so 22 House Republicans, led by Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH), refused to leave the floor, where â�� after the Democrats turned off the lights and the microphones â�� they continued talking gas prices and energy solutions, which the House was scheduled to do this afternoon already before Pelosi, et al declared an early adjournment.

Pelosi has sent Capitol Police to clear the press gallery lock the doors, in an obvious effort to keep the American people from every finding out about this via the free press, but Reps. Bunt, Shadegg, and Hoekstra have been taking turns remaining with media in the gallery in order to keep it open.

At one point, Shadegg â��figured out how to get the lights and microphones back on,â�� a House insider tells me â�� but they have since been shut off once again.

If anyone should be fired its Pelosi and the whole lot of them...oh wait...they will be. 8 more months of putting up with the lies and crap they are enslaving the country in. Unfortunately they can do a lot of damage between now and then.

So don't even cry that "they should be fired" line to us.

interesting points. The article is about the ban. It seems to me that the president should continue, as both Bush and Obama did, on putting new and adventagious things in the vetting process.
