RNC-fired voter registration contractor was the only one for 5 SWING

Strategic Allied Consulting is the new name adopted by a conservative voter registration company with a shady reputation at the request of the RNC when they were awarded $3 million contract to preregister voters in 5 swing states, Florida, Colorado, Nevada, Virginia, and North Carolina. SAC was sacked by the RNC a few days ago after being found up to its old tricks in Florida.

Googling will turn up a bunch, with a lot more to come, no doubt. The problem in Florida is apparently systematic submission of fraudulent registration forms, a no-harm on election day because made-up citizens of course do not vote. No discussion yet whether the other typical registration fraud, trashing registrations submitted by non-Republican citizens, occurred.

In the meantime, a week before the election the RNC has canceled new voter registration 5 swing states. As someone said, no plan B.

In Santa Rosa County, elections officials found 100 problematic voter registration applications out of a batch of roughly 400 turned in by the state Republican Party.

“Anyone with any sense would have known there was something wrong,” said elections supervisor Ann W. Bodenstein.

Most were changes in current registrations filed in the names of real voters, but signatures were spelled differently than the applicants’ names. Fake house numbers were given, and date of births did not match the names. The biggest red flag was that most of the forms were missing Social Security numbers.

“It was that flagrant,” she said. “In no way did they look genuine.”

When info on the form does not match up with ID info provided at he poll site by the voter, they are turned away. In Florida's case, all of the misinformation turned up on democrats' registration forms (link 1).

SAC was formerly Sproul and Associates, the same folks who in 2004 were found to have been routinely trashing democrats' voter registration forms in Nevada after one of its former employees provided KLAS-TV shredded registration forms they had retrieved.

if the sole purpose was an attempt to justify the need for strict voter ID laws.

If that was the case, they probably would have hired - a little firm to take the fall. As it is,

the RNC and GOP are badly hurt by this. They had to cancel all registration efforts in 5 states because this one company was doing them all.
