30K dead voters registered in the state of North Carolina. Good thing we want to get rid of photo ID to vote. I'd hate to discriminate against the DEAD people who are voting at elections. There is obvious proof of voter fraud and yet it is amazing people can't see that. 30K in ONE STATE!!!!

...for one thing, 30K dead voters still being on the voter rolls is not even close to the same thing as proof of voter fraud. This was apparently a case of the election commission (or whatever they call it there) not keeping the rolls updated. 30K is an impressive number to throw around, that's for sure! It would make a much stronger impression if there had been 30K instances of actual voter fraud, but that's not the case here.

So it takes 30K dead votes to "impress" you? - I sometimes wonder whether anyone can think.

You might, for instance, look up the Presidential election of 2004 and how close the votes were in some states.

If improperly-maintained voter rolls even create the POSSIBILITY or the VULNERABILITY for illegal votes being cast, it matters.

The word "impression" is in need of a qualifier. - I nominate "false" as its running mate.

There is absolutely no legislation in place giving these dead folks the right to vote. Their voting rights expired when they did and should not be extended just because they decide to get back up and vote. I blame Obama! All that vile talk of hope and change has obviously seeped through tombs, graves and urns and have revitalized those folks, and it's just not right!

He is responsible for Isaac. He has paid way too much attention to global warming, thereby raising the temperature of folks and in turn the oceans themselves. This energy translates to hurricains and other natural disasters. No, we should not worship him...we should fear him for he speaks with a forked tongue. I saw it. It was on Fox. Electing him will only increase his power, therby making people work for nothing more than fair wages, it will turn his sick people (minions in truth) into whole demons via insurance coverage that the evil one puts in place. And of course, instead of jumping to the call for occupation of other nations, he will instead try to reason with them, in the process spreading that decidedly evil message called peace.

If he was a real man, he would not only take responsibility for his actions now, but also the actions of W. I know that would be a lot for his shoulders, but I'm sure Clinton could take some of the years after his presidency, thereby giving W an absolutely clean slate. You know, if they would do that, then Bush's total disregard for national security reports, firing the only person who actually had been warning us for years about Bin Ladin, 911 itself, two unfunded wars, tax cuts for the wealthy (again), and an unfunded expansion for Medicare would no longer be a problem because it would be Clinton's fault! Darn it, I just knew that period of time we had of prosperity, peace and fiscal responsibility was just a ruse.

....shouldn't have happened, SHOULD be straightened out, and COULD be exploited by either side. That's a good point. After all, I haven't heard anything in this report about what the party affiliation is among the dead voters; but I don't think death discriminates, so it's likely that these 30K came from people of all stripes.

C'mon, people--I don't think EITHER side, including us "dastardly" Democrats, thinks it's O.K. for dead people to "vote." I suppose this situation could be taken advantage of by someone (of ANY party) who wants to risk being charged with voter fraud, just so their candidate can pick up some more votes, but I hear repeatedly that voter fraud has NOT been a valid problem in this country, anyway. I say clean up the problem....straighten out the record-keeping, and we can all be happy. The underlying accusations regarding this story seems to be that some folks think this was a planned error that proves we need voter I.D. laws, but that's just a specious accusation, IMO.
