that 6 million Americans, most likely middle class, will be hit by the Obamacare Tax. It's a good thing Obama wants to help the middle class, eh?

is that, yes, people should have health insurance, just like people should wear helmets when riding a motorcycle. More importantly, though, is an American's right to freedom of choice. Health care should be a state's issue, not the federal govt., just like the helmet law is a states issue. That's why you see people in Colorado, say, riding their bikes sans helmet, but in WA State helmets are required. Freedom to choose.

Unfortunately, most of these "freedom-lovers" really love - not paying their own way more than anything. SM

You can pay a little over $1000 a year for not purchasing insurance or
$16,000 (family), $4300 (single).

Still a no brainer compared to the Romney/Ryan tax plan of increasing taxes for the middle class to $2000 so the millionaires get a tax break.

Plus you get health care with Obama and nothing with Romney, except for the warm and fuzzies that go along with knowing the millionaires are happy.

And you still get health care if you pay the fine. But wouldn't you rather not be a drain on the health care system and buy insurance?

Not seeking a slam here. Just not understanding where the $2000 per year under Romney/Ryan tax plan comes in. Can you briefly explain to me.

I carry my own health insurance (it is $500+ per month extra for myself alone although it is a family plan which is required under my husband's employer). It is a basic 70/30 plan. My state currently offers what they call a "low-cost," cannot refuse you insurance pool for those who are otherwise ineligible to purchase plans on their own. I checked on this and it was more expensive by about $60 per month than the plan I have through husband's employer. It is really hard for me to pay for my insurance each month, but I have always carried health insurance and don't want to be without it. I just don't see how strictly minimum wage families who don't have employee coverage are going to afford this. I think a lot of these people may be opting out and paying that penalty. I have tried to read up on the Affordable Health Care Plan, but there is really a lot of aspects to this piece of legislation. I am truy afraid it is going to be a nightmare. Again, please do not slam me. I am not making some big political argument. I just want to know what the $2000 per year tax under Romney/Ryan is for.

According to Mittens (Mitt Romney) the middle class starts at 200-250K. I don't know anybody who makes that much, so not being in the middle class I don't have to worry about it.

everyone have health insurance so they can't make my insurance rates and hospital bills keep going up because I am paying for them when they don't doesn't agree with you. It's kind of funny how all these people are against Obamacare, yet they are the first to complain about freebies. The healthcare reform is actually making those who can afford it pay for it instead of letting people go to ERs for free. Many want to take away from programs that help the poor, yet want to keep paying for those who are mooching off my back for medical bills. Kind of odd don't ya think.

This will mostly apply to members of the middle class, almost all the rest to the working class. Yes, my 2 girlfriends aren't exactly rich to begin with and will have less money to blow when we go antiquing, but I don't feel sorry for them. I pay my own way and shouldn't have to pay theirs' too.

This is the way it's supposed to be.
