Jeb Bush said he was running for president
Posted: May 28, 2015
I know it is really difficult for Republicans to realize this, but you don't get to play both sides of the line and get away with it, at least in this much of the limelight.
By not declaring his candidacy, Bush is skating a fine legal line. All of those things just mentioned would be violations of campaign finance laws, because an official candidate is not allowed to coordinate with their Super PAC or accept any individual donation over $2,700 per election. So by not “officially declaring” he is essentially gaming the system; but the watchdog groups said what he is doing is not legal and instead, it is a clear violation of the law. That is why they are asking Attorney General Lynch to appoint an independant Speacial Counsel and investigate:
We further request that you exercise your statutory authority to appoint an independent Special Counsel to conduct the investigation on behalf of the Department. Jeb Bush is a candidate for President. The Right to Rise Super PAC is an entity that has been established, and is being financed, maintained and controlled, by Bush and his agents. The Super PAC is also acting on behalf of Bush. As such, it is prohibited from raising or spending money that does not comply with Federal contribution limits and source prohibitions (i.e., “soft money”). 52 U.S.C. § 30125(e)(1). Bush is likewise prohibited from raising and spending soft money through such an entity.
We all know Bush is a candidate for president; he himself has said that he is a candidate for president. In a video posted by NBC, earlier this month, he said, “I’m running for president in 2016, and the focus is going to be about how we, if I run, how do you create high sustained economic growth.” That is a declaration that cannot just be taken back because he says it wasn’t official.
The Republican Party is constantly screaming from the rooftops that Obama is a “criminal” and that he “violates the law” but when they actually break the law and we are all supposed to ignore it. The Citizens United ruling paved the way for our elections to be bought by the highest corporate donor and that won’t be changed until lawmakers pass an amendment repealing the asinine ruling. Even though, we can’t immediately fix that, the Justice Department can and should enforce current campaign finance laws. It is obvious that Bush has willfully broken those laws and he needs to be punished for it.

These watchdogs time would be better sent convincing Lynch - to prosecute Hillary. (sm)

Much ado about nothing here.
Don't think the other Republicans candidates - would agree, if you could

Considering the OP's subject, etc., I'm not sure modern Republicans even have that much - speech filter left. Is it Tourette's?JS

Speech filter? Check out a Bernie Sanders essay - how women fantasize about

being raped. It"s called "Men and Women." Although this is from 1972, it wouldn't stop the media if it was a republican.
Talk about war on women.
Did a republican say this? No? Then it won't - matter. NM

Conservatives would still start the conspiracy theories against Hillary because that's how their worldview works. Conservatives take just about anything and decide it's somehow a negative against their main target of the week. Every story that comes out against anyone running in 2016 will be blamed on Hillary just like everything that goes wrong in the world or even in the past can be chalked up to something Obama did. LOL.
It's so predictable too!
Wow, that's some serious projection going on there Bernie. - I think they've found their candidate,

I wrote 1 comment about modern Repubs lacking speech filter & there's an all night show! - as for the Sanders' essay...Julia Sugarbaker
[ In Reply To ..]
No thanks, I've not made a decision on my candidate yet,but there's no special affinity for Bernie either.
However, I'm definitely not a fan of articles being shoved in my face in direct reply about known personal issues that I've reacted to very strongly emotionally on this forum before.
A subject, btw, that when brought up previously, I felt was being used as political fodder and attempt to manipulate female voters, when it should never be.
I find doing so is more telling of the smearer than it is the person they're trying to smear. Anyone who would do so in the first place - and especially keep trying to push that personal issue button, simply over politics on a small-time political forum - would be clearly lacking in any sort of moral compass whatsoever, despite whatever party or faith they claim to ascribe to.
So if we were targeting for a freakout with this one?
That's an epic fail:)
Seems the freakout happened before I arrived, all night (by the same person wearing different hats again?) - just because I said many modern Republicans have no speech filter?
As an afterthought, let's tack on no moral filter as well:)
Well, this sure explains why some morally equate having a private email server as carrying the same immoral weight as pedophilia.
Because people who can't process morality well and understand the weighted difference on moral issues are without (or nearly without) conscience - so they lack the ability to "feel" morality, they can only process it intellectually. Therefore, they only know something is morally wrong because society has told them it's wrong. They can fake it and they can use it to manipulate others without feeling a drop of empathy or guilt, crossing moral boundaries most of us wouldn't cross as if it were a game of hopscotch.
So since morality can only processed intellectually to such a person, it all carries the same moral weight, regardless of the infraction - a white lie about whether a friend looks fat in that dress carries the same moral weight as pedopilia, it's all the same to them.
But I digress and back to the OP's subject, I actually didn't mind Jeb Bush too much, if we had to have a Republican, because he's not his brother.
However, considering this sort of thing was again used as political fodder under a thread with him as topic, I may be abstaining from voting altogether - but I'm definitely not voting Republican after everything I've seen now - thank you for helping me decide!:)
I think Jeb may be worse, he actually thinks - he has an opinion
[ In Reply To ..]
and will be a loose cannon, not even manageable by handlers. Of course, the Cheney/Rumsfeld handler is what doomed Bush from the outset, so it does all depend on the handler.
Just saying I could tolerate the devil I know better than the ones I don't if I had to lol - Julia Sugarbaker
[ In Reply To ..]
Now, never said I'd vote for him or anything, lol, it's just at least I'd know what I'm getting, compared to some others, and he's a tiny bit more palatable on issues like immigration, environment and necessity abortions.
And I tend to keep an open mind about innocence until proven guilty because I'm very different than my sister, let's just say;)
He's not off to a good start, though, that's true.
Forget palatable with brother, I find myself gagging over the opinions of his brother, "he who must not be named" lol. And he's already guilty as sin in my eyes, I just keep praying for justice for all those who lost their lives over his "advisor mistakes."
Where's all the cries for war on women? Oh, a Democrat - did this. Crickets.......nm

Michael Briggs, Sanders' newly minted campaign spokesman, said the article was a "dumb attempt at dark satire in an alternative publication" that "in no way reflects his views or record on women."
"It was intended to attack gender stereotypes of the '70s, but it looks as stupid today as it was then," Briggs told CNN.
If Bernie Sanders is not taken seriously and does not win the election, it will be the same effect Obama has endured---He really is too intelligent for the masses.

And by the way, you got a couple candidates of your own who haven't formally declared yet either.
I assume you won't mind if we ascribe the same motives and "law-breaking behavior" to them, right? Right.
Who would that be? Have they declared - in front of national news mikes?

Conservatives got nothing but deflection here! - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
Deflection to Hillary! Nothing new.
Deflection to Bernie Sanders and an essay from the 1970s? LOL! Since we're deflecting as debate, just let me add that their conservative activist who molested multiple children including his own sisters while his parents covered up the whole sordid affair from law enforcement doesn't phase conservatives in the least...... but, but, but, but Bernie wrote an essay in the 1970s that is a "war on women"! Very real multiple child molestation and coverup is not a problem, but 40-year-old written words have them all in a tither. Whatever! That commentary right there tells you everything you need to know about conservative hypocrisy!
And conservatives keep whining about why the media doesn't attack liberals in the way they do Cons. "If this was a conservative, the MSM would be all over this," we hear them whine. So here's the deal: Conservatives hold themselves out as the moral party of saints and God while they paint liberals as somehow lesser beings and the party of Satan by calling them "Demoncrats." They conflate political campaigns with religious dogma like "good vs. evil" and cast conservatives as the God/good party and liberals as the Demon/evildoer party....... so it's staring them right in the face, but they don't understand.
If conservatives are going to continue to hold themselves up as God's party and the party of "family values" and preach against gay families and LGBT like Josh Duggar with FNC has been doing, how difficult is it to understand that the blowback on the lies, charades, and hypocrisy is undoubtedly going to be much more stunning? That blowback conservatives don't seem to understand is a product of their own making. Oh, the irony!
The only Republican I heard defending him was Huckabee, and - he doesnt speak for most

conservatives. Perverted behavior and essays are just that, no matter what a person's politics.
