no message whatsoever. Just a suit and a microphone. Huntsman looks like a worthy.
No to Pawlenty - lka
[ In Reply To ..]
He was the former governor of my state of Minnesota. Not many people could stand his politics and his arrogance (in my opinion). Naturally as a republican he cut everything for the poorest of the poor.
I see he is trying to change his style of communcation. I saw him this morning on the talk shows and never saw this particular "smile" before in all his 8 years as governor. Heard great things about Huntsman, in that he exudes self-confidence and seems genuine. Pawlenty to me is like a "people pleaser" and has his own agenda, not the people.
thanks for sharing your impression - tam
[ In Reply To ..]
It is good to hear from someone not employed by the media. I would have never guessed about the arrogance; they must have really practiced him on not appearing so.
These insider tips are helpful and much appreciated. - Sheds new light on the snooze factor
[ In Reply To ..]
and has motivated me to take some time to look at him rather than past him. Thanks.
Huntsman is a good choice. Would be hard - for Obama to criticize
[ In Reply To ..]
him on foreign policy issues since he made him Ambassador to China. Although I am sure the Obama hit squad will be all over him when they finish with Gov Christie. What was it someone was saying about character assassination? The DNC wrote the BOOK on character assassination...the politics of personal destruction and no one is safe, not even the kids.
His strong sense of personal investment - in peaceful resolutions
[ In Reply To ..]
will hit a brink wall when dealing with Bibi Inc.
Girl, you better go wash hour mouth out with soap. - He palled around with Obam
[ In Reply To ..]
for nearly 3 years as ambassador to China. His nomination to this post was passed before pubs took control of the House, so he MUST be hiding some deep dark suspicious associations that will never stand up under tpot scrutiny. Besides, this guy has too much class and is WAY too willing to compromise WITH OBAMA (something he has actually said out loud). Palling around and compromise. A deadly combination to be sure.
Spending increased by nearly 10 perent during his tenure as governor of Utah. On the other hand, he does pass the Ryan lithmus. He would make an excellent choice as an independent spoiler. It will be interesting to see what happens to his innate sincerity once campaign handlers get their hands on him.
competition - tam
[ In Reply To ..]
It would be interesting to have a republican running that dems could disagree with yet respect. Been a while. Besides Obama needs a little competition. A little competition keeps him in condition as the J5 would say.
I agree with that and will try not to be so pessimistic. - Miracles do happen.
[ In Reply To ..]
I hope he is able to survive long enough take part in the debates and attend the media circus venues. There is so little time spent on pubs such as these that I was beginning to think they were going the way of the dinosaurs. It would be nice to see more of them surface sooner rather than later in this time leading up to campaign season.
Trump just announced that he is still considering running - Just sayin - Republicans still have hope
[ In Reply To ..]
Help is on the way! Trump hasn't definitely decided not to run. You've still got Trump!
I can see it now, the perfect ticket
Trump and Palin...or is it Palin and Trump? Would either one of them be willing to run for Vice President?
I can\'t wait for Barry and Joe and their - BC T-shirts. Bet Jon
[ In Reply To ..]
Stewart can\'t wait to get his. They should buy one for the first dog too (sorry, forgot his name). All the Secret Service guys should have to wear them too. Oh and all the staff on Oprah. Got yours yet?
I can see it now. Perfect!!
No, but apparently the President's campaign - did. LOL. Wonder if
[ In Reply To ..]
that idea was before or after the kegger? lol
With no one in sight that can present any viable challenge - they have plenty of time
[ In Reply To ..]
to come up with even more brilliant ideas on how to stuff those campaign funding coffers to the brim. They will have a hard time coming up with something to top this one, though. I just think that turnabout is fair play, and do not realy care if anyone agrees with that or not.
Instant Karma's gonna getcha....
Yep...funny thing about karma. We'll see - who gets "got." LOL.
[ In Reply To ..]
maybe the SEIU can wear the t-shirts while they are kicking the crap out of people who disagree with them this time around (a change from the purple shirts). Don't get me wrong. I am glad they came up with it. It is always nice to see the competition shooting themselves in the foot early on. First issue should be rangel, frank, and dodd. They can do one with rhinestones for Pelosi.
Next thing you know they will be handing them out at the airport.
lol.
uh . . . overwrought - t-shirt
[ In Reply To ..]
and frankly pretty lame. What decade were you born to make such ancient references.
What is LAME is the t-shirt. But then...consider - the source. You need
[ In Reply To ..]
to look behind the curtain, Dorothy. You aren't in Kansas anymore.
Bless yer heart.
A big big NO to Pawlenty - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
Does anyone remember the I35 bridge collapse? 13 people died and hundreds of lives were changed. A school bus with 60 children almost went in the Mississippi River. Some history: Pawlenty appointed Carol Molnau as the head of the MN Department of Transportation. She had a background in farming--not so much in roads and bridges. (deja vu as in "atta boy Brownie"). The purpose of the appointment was to further cut back all that nasty old waste in roads and bridges. Perhaps goals were accomplished since something like 400 more DOT employees were laid off, inspections and projects were delayed, etc. Hey, anything to save a buck, right?
It makes me sick.
One other thing as far as Pawlenty's character. I saw him on Hannity when Colmes was on. Pawlenty did his sneer and said something nasty about Colmes and Colmes' wife's relationship. I could not believe what a low blow it was. I guess he thought he could get away with it on Hannity's show. True colors shown.
LOL. Well, with all of Obamas sorry appointees and - scary associates, Paw cant be worse.
[ In Reply To ..]
btw, its SO obvious you are an Obama lover.. see right thru ya.
Thank you for reminding me why I am not a Republican - Sad
[ In Reply To ..]
It is hard to believe that you would laugh out loud at the thought of people being crushed by steel girders and concrete and drownding in that river. Compassionate conservatism certainly is a farce. Typical short-sighted corporate attitude to save a buck no matter the consequences.
Now that we have three and a half contenders - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
maybe we can start looking at who is running rather than who is dropping out, though just how long Newt's one-legged approach can be sustained is anybody's guess. My understanding is that Pawlenty faces an uphill climb with campaign funding, a weakness he will clearly have to overcome if he is in it for the long run. At least there is a certain sense of balance among them.
We have a fire-breathing liberal, whoops, I mean moderate pub in Romney on account of his health care record, a fairly generic charismaless conservative in Pawlenty and (media-dubbed) dark horse Cain coming out of far, far, right field, wearing his Burger King crown and balancing a hand-tossed gluten-free mega-mozza 18-inch super combo on his right index fingertip. And then there's Newt-or-not, plagued by serial scandals and infidelities fueled by his passion for politics, yet a formidable spokesperson on policy issues. His unwillingness to accept personal responsiblity for his own behavior may prove to be his ultimate downfall, but only time will tell. I hear he can bare some razor-sharp fangs when in attack dog mode and certainly is not beyond turning on his own kind for personal gain.
All in all, the race is beginning to take shape and I look forward to getting to know more about them all.
My slogan for 2012 is "Anybody but Barack." - What I don't want is more
[ In Reply To ..]
of the same and Team Obama shows they have absolutely no intention of changing.
Sooner or later you must come to grips with - sm

actually selecting a candidate and formulating/promoting a platform that addresses issues other than hating Obama. That's how the grown-ups win (or lose) elections. Do you have any comments to make on the GOP field of candidates or do you seriously think that cranking up failed 2008 character assassination strategies are going to be enough to squeak by on?
Sooner or later you have to come to grips - with the financial state
[ In Reply To ..]
of this country and Obama's complete LACK of attention to it, his stomping all over the constitution, and his complete inability to understand the seriousness of the crisis we are in, as proven by putting forth a 3 trillion dollar budget on top of a 14.3 trillion dollar deficit. THAT is how an ADULT tries to do what is best for his/her country, and not knee-jerk vote for a Democrat because he's a Democrat.
No one has to assassinate Obama's character. His character is not in question. His jobs performance is, and to be blunt, it sucked to start with, it has never stopped sucking, and right now his suck-o-meter is pegged at SUCKS A LOT.
Now if you could please tell me truthfully what has gotten better? The deficit sure hasn't. It has grown by over a trillion. The unemployment figures are still high. We haven't seen any of the job creation he promised. He promised he would not put lobbyists in his admin. Google and see how many lobbyists are in his admin. He promised the most transparent administration in history. It is anything BUT.
It is hard for me to connect your seemingly intelligent use of words to dress me down with your total disconnect from the state of this country and the fact that this administration has helped nothing and in fact has made things worse.
There is only one conclusion to draw...you are voting for a Democrat no matter how hard he is driving to drive the country into the ground. And no rational adult, knowing that, is going to vote for MORE of that.
I guess that takes you OUT of the rational adult category??
I take it ths means you are unable to address candidate selection - platform issues and the like
[ In Reply To ..]
without unleashing the usual hissy fits and tiresome tirades. Grownups know how to stay on task. You may want to check out the subject of the thread. Start your own little hate corner in another entry if you are so compelled to spew. I am sure there are a few choir members hanging around on the fringes willing to participate, but for now, I am more interested in the fiasco (at least up to this point) that is the GOP primary. I am willing to admit that at least they have taken some baby steps away from laughing stock and have almost graduated to elementary level team building, though I cannot for the life of me think of a sport that can be played with three and a half to a side.
I guess this means you are incapable of - defending Obama's
[ In Reply To ..]
performance thus far? Hard to defend the indefensible, right? So you fall back on the liberal knee jerk reaction of condescending prattle that does nothing put point the finger at the other guy but totally unable to address any issues at hand, the largest one being the 14.3 trillion dollar deficit that Obama fails to recognize as a problem, the continued high unemployment on this country....tell me, please, with minimum condescension (if you are capable), what is there that would compel me to think things are going to be ANY different if he is re-elected? Because I am tired of hearing how bad the other guy is...I would like to know what about this guy you think is so great, other than the fact that he is a Democrat.
Try real hard now to address the issue and not kill the messenger...you can do it!
As long as these snipes continue to appear under a thread - about GOP candidates
[ In Reply To ..]
they will not be addressed. I feel no need to defend Obama, especially within this context, and do not respond well to people who are determined to hijack a post by repeatedly unleashing personal attacks, whether it be on him or others who are trying to have a dialog on another issue. You have made it abundantly clear that you have nothing to say about the GOP 2012 field or its non-existent platform, which seems appropriate since there is a whole lot of nothing going on there. Unless you can do that, kindly refrain from the stalking bully routine and start your own thread.
Your parting shot is absurd considering that you are the one refusing to address the topic currently under discussion.
Yet another deflection. The platform - that is nonexistent is
[ In Reply To ..]
Obama's. That is exactly what he has done...nothing, zip, zero, nada. Other than raise the deficit a trillion and refuse to address it at all, and runs backward at the mere mention of cutting costs.
As to the bully stalking routine, take a look in the mirror. You do not need to stalk and reply to every post if you don't like it, simply ignore it. Did someone make you the board monitor when I wasn't looking, or are you doing the Obamaesque I will just take over and do what I darned well please whether you like or not tactic? Nevermind, its obvious.
Look, I realize it is very difficult to try to talk issues when there is nothing positive you can say about the economy, the deficit, or Obama's job performance. In the absence of that, attack, attack, attack and blame the person you are attacking for being attacked.
What is absurd is a seemingly rational human being looking at the job performance of a man who started with the majority in both houses of Congress who could do nothing but pass a piece of legislation that the majority of the country doesn't want, while totally ignoring unemployment, spending cuts, or the 14.3 trillion dollar deficit that you are also sucessfully ignoring.
No one is asking you to defend Obama...a useless task at best. I just wanted to see if perhaps you could.
I am not a Republican; I frankly don't care who runs against him. Could not possibly be worse if he/she owns a calculator and knows the color red means you are in the hole. Maybe a blue dog democrat will become an independent and run against him. That would be fine with me, as long as he/she is willing to address the deficit and spending cuts in a meaningful way instead of following the pied piper into the river like you seem bent on doing.
Have a nice day now.
I would like to introduce a new concept at this point - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
It is called Post a New Message. Otherwise (yaaawwwnnnn) you will just continue talking to yourself as long as you persist with the cyberstalking.
Tell me...what is it like to follow one man in - rote lockstep, check

Really interested in knowing what that feels like.
This grown-up is probably going to go for Obama this time - Didn't last time but will this time
[ In Reply To ..]
I couldn't warm up to him last time, but I think I'll probably vote for Obama this time.
What about his job performance makes - you say that? What

do you think he will do about spending and the deficit if he gets another term? Seriously asking.
