collectively to try to avoid the hit and run, nee ner nee ner neeeee ner (sorry, hope you get the point-that is not something I have ever even thought about trying to spell before now) type of comments that we are ALL guilty of and just calmly discuss our views on their merits?? No more of the "if so-and-so were a dem" or "if so-and-so were a Repub" and other silliness like this? If it appears, can we all just ignore it? Lets not add fuel to the real "trolls" out there from either side. Truly, I read through this day after day and there are so, so, SO many posts that are clearly intended to just get a negative rise out of the opposition, or to get in a dig, often with limited to no connection to the original post or the post it was supposedly in response to. Honestly, maybe we could do our small part to actually exchange ideas and links and resources and maybe enlighten each other, if we could all make the effort to read all posts with an open mind, consider our response before posting, and if the only response we have is a dig or nasty remark, keep it to ourselves until we can give a reasonable, thoughtful and calm response. We have agreed, at least some of us, that we need to pull together regardless of political affiliation, but the climate in this forum is not helping. It has been largely about just attack, insult and run, or defend, insult and run. As I said, all of us, myself included, are guilty. Maybe we just need to think and consider before we post or respond to others posts. Is this something that anyone will consider, or am I being too much of an idealist and naive??? I think most of us have this in us.
