Interesting piece about the "Brown bailout"...

First, in all fairness, it is not a bailout in the usual sense of the word. This article deals fairly with the with history of both companies and does lay out both sides of the coin. On the face of it, however, it does seem to me to be unethical on the part of UPS and the Teamsters in an effort to wreck their biggest competitor (FedEx). The part about the strike by UPS and what economic damage it did makes me mistrust unions even more.
Wasn't Jimmy Hoffa (wherever may he be, rest in peace) a higher up in the Teamsters?

[ In Reply To ..]Fitz took over (can't remember how to spell his whole name) and there was a big stink over it and very big scandal with him. I think he was convicted of using union dues for his own personal use. I can't remember now, but it's probably somewhere on line. I do remember that Fitz was accused of having something to do with Hoffa's disappearance.
