Treasury's TARP, AIG Bailout Costs Fall to $30 Billion-

Posted: Oct 5, 2010

Not too shabby for saving the country from the second great depression.  At the end of Bush's term, the DOW was around 7,000.  Recently the DOW is around 11,000.  Certainly the country is still hurting, but things ARE getting better.

how about DELAYING the recovery! Obama's stimulus was a waste of a ton of money, his healthcare bill a disaster, and come November, you might get the message from the MAJORITY of Americans.

Definition of insanity - = Return to the Bush policies!

that got us here in the first place.

Obama went even further. He went further than Bush - and almost destroyed us!!.nm

to halt its progress, lay and implement plans, and scratch the surface of making inroads to recovery. Pardon me while I disregard the rest of your unfounded prognostications rooting for failure and exaggerated sense of self-importance. That kind of preditability just bores me to tears.

You, like others, seem to conveniently forget something. - The Bush economy for 6 years was booming,

then because of anger over the war, Americans put the dems back in charge of Congress his final 2 years. From there on, the economy went down, down, down. In November, there will finally be hope of beginning to dig out of this mess, but just a beginning.
Yes, the rich got richer - too bad I'm not rich.

Bankers, insurance and corporate/real estate execs made millions, while they sent our jobs offshore, devalued our homes, cancelled our health insurance policies, and stole our 401Ks. The last two years Bush was still there with his veto power with the party of "no" digging in their heels.
Oh, please. What a twisted web you weave. nm - GetReal

and once Obama saves the world we will all skip around and dance with the leprechauns and frolic through pastures with the unicorns. There will be rainbows every day and it will rain Skittles because who doesn't like Skittles...I mean really.

Harry Potter, Rufus Wainwright and Skittles commercials. Long on imagery (though not terribly original) but short on message. Thing is, I would swear I have read this exact same post somewhere, somehow a couple of months back in another chat room forum. I'm talkin' verbatim, though I do not have time to sift through all of them to resurrect it. Still, the sense deja vu is quite overwhelming.

But hey, if your are into taking childhood vestigal lessons to heart, promoting #1 best sellers and tortured gay songwriters and plugging TV commercials, why not try giving the Warriors of the Rainbow fable a whirl?

There was an old lady, from the "Cree" tribe, named "Eyes of Fire", who prophesied that one day, because of the white mans' or Yo-ne-gis' greed, there would come a time, when the fish would die in the streams, the birds would fall from the air, the waters would be blackened, and the trees would no longer be, mankind as we would know it, would all but cease to exist.

There would come a time when the "keepers of the legend, stories, culture rituals, and myths, and all the Ancient Tribal Customs" would be needed to restore us to health. They would be mankinds̢۪ key to survival, they were the "Warriors of the Rainbow".

For the remainder of this beautiful yet lengthy passage, passed down through generations of Native Americans storytellers, go to

For many of us, it beats the beegeebers out of the constant barrage of negative energy emanating from the JustSayNo clans.

LOL. Yep, they do live in a fairytale. nm - TX

CBO: Treasury To Run Out Of Cash In 3 Months Leading ToJun 30, 2017
The Treasury is set to run out of cash in October, which may lead to a default on debt obligations or payment delays for government programs, according to a report from the Congressional Budget Office. On March 15, 2017, the suspension of the debt limit expired and since then the Treasury has been able to borrow additional funds without violating the debt ceiling. "The Congressional Budget Office projects that if the debt limit remains unchanged, those measures will be exhausted and the Tr ...

for now following "the rules".  There’s further proof that no good deed goes unpunished…that is, if you consider all those Wall Street bail outs to have been good deeds. After the economic crisis of 2008, the federal government spent $182 billion to keep the insurance giant AIG from collapsing. But now, AIG is considering joining a $25 billion lawsuit by their former CEO’s company against the government. He claims that the feds violated the Constitution by not providin ...

What do you plant now to harvest in falltime? ...

I posted a few days ago on the Health Board. I had a very bad fall down icy cement steps last Friday. My ankle was terribly swollen, and I have a bad abrasion on the top of my foot. Later I posted, saying things were looking better. Today the condition seems worse again. The top of my foot is red and very warm. I have been on antibiotics since last Sunday. Interesting Piece About The "Brown Bailout"...Dec 01, 2010
First, in all fairness, it is not a bailout in the usual sense of the word.  This article deals fairly with the with history of  both companies and does lay out both sides of the coin.  On the face of it, however, it does seem to me to be unethical on the part of UPS and the Teamsters in an effort to wreck their biggest competitor (FedEx).  The part about the strike by UPS and what economic damage it did makes me mistrust unions even more.  Wasn't Jimmy H ...

Why Healthcare Costs So Much In America - Apr 23, 2017
Not for those who are too impatient to read anything longer than a paragraph. While our earnings are being ground into dust, the HC providers we ultimately work for are marking up everything they deliver by 300%, 400% and more, making outsize profits and paying obscene salaries to executives.  Example:  A patient charged $1.50 for a generic Tylenol pill when you can buy a bottle of 200 for $4.00 from Walmart (2 cents a pill).  https://www.walmart.com/ip/39661523 ...that's ...
