I want many of us who vote late to get hold of news and our own representatives
Posted: Mar 16, 2016
Okay, I am sick and tired of the news people going on and on about all the states who have caucused and voted in the primary. There are many of us who have not yet and the field is down to just three now. I want the chance to vote for one of the ones who are not there any longer.
If this was a fair election, we all would vote on one day not different months. This is ludicrous. No fair election here.
No wonder people do not trust politicians nor government.
I wish we could get the news to pay attention to those of us who have not voted yet and how disenfranchised we all feel now from the rest of the country. It is like we don't exist.;
A lot of people feel the way you do - But it is up to individual states

So if you are in a late voting state, contact your local party officials and ask them about how to get the ball rolling to have an earlier primary. I am suggesting that for starters because I am not sure whether this would be a matter for the state legislature or something the party would do on its own. Each state is a little different. I think it would also depend on whether you caucus, which is a party run operation, or have a primary which is run by the state.

a couple years ago but the Dems (majority) blocked it. Don't know why but maybe they were afraid the Republicans would be elected and be the majority if they did that.
Excuse me but how can Democrats do that - anonie

It is republican big wigs that do the changing. They rig it all. Democrats rig their side, not republican's side.

Not long ago, Ben Carson was a major contender. He basically faded away as obviously not being presidential material. Same things happened to Rick S. Perry, Carly, Paul, etc. If there was just one vote, I am not sure people would be able to sort things out without the candidates being able to present themselves under the pressure of the campaign.
I really think that we'd make them hear better as a entire group - anonie

BTW, I wanted to vote for Ben Carson. No one will ever know if he would have earned a lot of votes in other states since he is now gone along with others.
I don't much like someone picking out my candidate.
If we would as a group write to the party then I think he would have to listen. I mean that is a lot of states that want to all vote at the same time and are tired of being last and not getting the same choice of candidates.
However, I can see why no one ever got a petition to help MTs now. Pure noninterest. Just want to gripe.
Although I'm a Dem, I completely agree with - you that you should have had the -

opportunity to vote for Ben Carson in a fair and timely primary election. If he's not the ultimate choice for Republican nominee, then that would sort itself out in the voting. But it just isn't fair or right that the voters in a few small states in the South (or wherever) get to make that choice for you.
I think it is a chance for all the candidates to visit an area - sm

When the primaries come up, the candidates visit an area in person and people get a chance to compare and contrast. If they only had one election, I don't see how this could happen.
Been debating this with my bro. - Late stater. sm

I understand how important it was pre-computers, but now, how about live townhall meetings online? Probably would reach a wider audience. When a candidate visits my state, it is usually in a big city 50 miles from me with, I believe, the 7th worst traffic in the nation. No way I am going there, but would very likely join in online.
I agree. Texas used to be like that, and this year - we were pushed up to be one of the first.

before they dropped out are still there. How confusing is that going to be for voters who don't even know who's running anymore?
So, it's going to be fun to watch the circus unless they can get the dropouts off the ballots soon.
BTW, a lot of Dems have changed their affiliation or decided change to Independent in my county, which used to be a Dem majority.
It comes down to States' right versus a big Federal - monster. We need to restore

A Little Late Then Never Was Not Good EnoughJan 10, 2011Although it was pointed out a very long time ago that Sarah Palins website http://www.takebackthe20.com/ (the cross-hairs) map, was totally irresponsible for a celebrity of her level, I am sickened that she did not take it down until after these shootings occurred. If Your Husband Was Always Late - Feb 16, 2010Would you be able to lie to him to fudge appointment times, etc, to get there on time? We've been married 25 years, and I knew what I was getting into even before I married him. I pretty much have learned to live with it. But sometimes I'm tempted to tell him that an appointment is for, say, 1:00 when it's really for 1:30 because he has a tendency to start to get ready about five minutes before time to be there. But then I think of him sitting there in the ...

Attention All MTs Who Are In Their Late 50s Nov 05, 2013I was wondering for those MTs who are in their late 50s, 60s and beyond, how much do you work a day/week?
