Apparently we cannot afford to have any more disasters, and if you do, too bad for you. According to the Republicans, you are out of luck if you have been unemployed too long or you will lose your Medicare if you are under 55; and now, if you are a victim of a disaster, they will have to think about helping you.

Listen to the Texas Governor who was so against any kind of connection with the federal government at all that he is toying with the idea of seceding from the union. Now he is screaming because they had wildfires and the federal government was too slow in responding to his cries for disaster relief money.

I can assure you it is the megalomaniac in Austin who did that and that the hypocrisy is all his. Grandstanding in his refusal to accept stimulus funds (except to restore the mansion), then turning around and begging for EDUCATION funds, despite the fact that he quietly covered a $12 billion budget shortfall with stimulus funds, all the while bellyaching about the oppressive socialist thugs, worshiping on the alter of states rights and plotting his secessionist sedition. For the last week I've been suffering right upper quadrant pain, had my gallbladder and appendix out ten years ago. I was wondering for those MTs who are in their late 50s, 60s and beyond, how much do you work a day/week? Are you able to work full-time sitting at a desk, or have you cut back on your work (not to include waiting for work or NJA for those that have this problem.)
