with be a loud THUD once the measure hits the floor of the Senate, DOA, but not one single mourner in sight.

No, the next sound will be Hairy refusing to bring - it up for a vote.

And now I see Honey Boo Boo is having a temper tantrum.

The people spoke. It was a train wreck from the beginning and we just found out in the past week because of this we were going to be out in limbo and out of insurance because of OC (or more properly named Obamadontcare). Our insurance carrier is out of business and the website to look at insurance is not up and running and in my state it wouldn't be until next year until we found out what is going on.

First key that it was bad was when they exempted themselves from it.

All I say is our prayers have been answered. I'm looking forward to seeing what the republicans put forward. They had some great ideas. Hope they will be able to get them out there, but with the dems throwing a temper tantrum it's not going to be an easy job.

Thank God for America!

You know this is hopeless effort #41 of this kind, fake try - #70-something overall? :) nm

I'll wait for you to explain, but I bet you don't.

Helpful hint...when you have a message inside it's SM, not NM. Though instead of NM you should have put "see snotty message".
What did that post mean? Please share SM - sm

I removed what you considered a snotty message, but I'm still waiting for a reply.

My explanation: I didn't understand the post. I assume it was mocking the post that cited fact, but I could be wrong.

Sorry I offended you. I thought it was more in line with sarcasm, but at any rate, it's gone. And I will await an interpretation of the post I inquired about.
Keep waiting - SM

It was a direct reply to a message that made no sense. You couldn't figure that out?

You didn't need to remove anything. I could care less bout snotty messages, just a message that makes sense would have been good and then I would have replied appropriately.

P.S. - I wasn't offended. I don't offend easily.
You are wrong. #41 message made sense and was factual - sm

The message that came after that made no sense and was mocking.

I could care less whether you respond appropriately or not. As a matter of fact, I don't expect you to anyhow.

I can't remember who the interview was with, but it was someone in charge of an information center that answered questions regarding the ACA.

The interviewer asked what the biggest concern or question was, and this woman said there are so many people who think the ACA doesn't exist because they hear on the news of the House repeatedly voting to repeal.

A lot of people don't know the process of repealing law and that these are meaningless votes, and the Senate and President are also included in the process. They just hear the news and don't have knowledge to recognize this is only part of it.

I was really surprised to hear that the #1 concern or question was whether or not the ACA is law. It's sad that many Americans aren't equipped with enough gov 101 knowledge to understand basic law-making/repeal process, but many aren't, including the all-for-naught elated OP.

Wow! That's sad. But then some have even posted - here thinking the House repealed it. nm

low-information voters who are running this country into the ground BECAUSE they know no better.

What ignorance the Republican party has "ruled" is surely going to contribute largely to the downfall, not just of our country but of the planet, as well. Not that our name is that good after Bush and his lying America into wars against Afghanistan and Iraq, but if we become a deadbeat nation simply because the republicans are throwing hissy fits if they can't get what they want, they look like a bunch of clowns, and, again, I believe every one of them should be impeached.

Thank God for America AND the Senate and Veto power of POTUS. Heard of them? - I'm thinking no. NM

So, you would rather the government shut down? (This is long) - Truthhurts

[ In Reply To ..]
because that's what will happen since there is only 7 days left to fund the government or we'll be in default. If the Senate votes no and sends it back to the House, there will not be any time to renegotiate the bill.

Ah, what the heck....Obama wants the shutdown because he wants to blame the House for it. He refuses to negotiate with the "enemies" and those who "are messing with him." How sad that a President has so much hatred for one party that he would allow a government shutdown.

Yet, ALL GOVERNMENT FUNDING was PASSED and all the House wanted was to tweak Obamacare to make it more manageable.

Look at Walgreen's and Home Depot are now shortening work hours and Walgreen's is pulling the health insurance from their FT employees so they would have to join the exchanges.

Trumpka and the other unions did not get a waiver so they're furious. It was a slap in the face to them.

Congress and government employees were exempted from this health care recently. Did you know that?

The CBO has revised the cost figures for Obamacare and it's not pretty. Did you know that? It started out at what, $800 billion, then $840 billion, then $940 billions, and now:

http://news.yahoo.com/cbo-obamacare-price-tag-shifts-940-billion-1-163500655.html

The funny thing is...it wouldn't have passed the House had not Home Depot and Walgreen's shorten hours and stop insurance coverage. Yet Reid, Pelosi, and Obama don't see it. They are so full of hatred and they are scared they're losing power. I hope 2014 shows them how dumb they were.

BTW, 54% (via CBO) to 56% of Americans DON'T WANT OBAMACARE...or has it gone up again today? People don't understand the law and they don't want to be forced into accepting something they don't know anything about and/or can't get any information on it, except the "good parts" that are touted by the Democrats like pre-existing conditions which has been STOPPED in February because they ran out of money already. No one else can sign up for it. Congress is supposed to represent the people, not their agenda. That's their job. That's what they were elected to do. If over half the people don't want Obamacare, why does Congress still fight for it? BECAUSE THEY DON"T REPRESENT US ANYMORE.

Over 2200 pages of the law and another 20,000 pages of regulations. Seibilius gave us a peek at how they are going to manage healthcare when she refused to allow that 11-year-old girl a lung transplant...that's a death panel. She would have let that little girl DIE rather than allow the transplant.

Did you know the President is not allowed to make law yet he has CHANGED the healthcare law how many times through the waivers, delays in implementation, etc? What gave him the executive authority to do that? He's breaking the law and what he's doing is unconstitutional (because he can't make or change laws). He has to go through Congress to do that. Federal court strikes down Obama's recess appointments, Obama ignored them. Holder gets congressional demand for truthful testimony and documents, Obama issues an executive privilege to withhold documents. I, for one, am tired of this president tweaking the law to suit himself. He's breaking the law, plain and simple.

Pile on the dislikes or arguments if you want because I don't plan on answering and nasty replies. In fact, I've been so disgusted with this board lately, this is the first time I've been here for quite a while. Some posters here don't want to see the truth, others don't want to discuss. I found a much better place to be and discuss and debate without the histrionics present here.

Have a good day.
The House Reps were the ones who attached defunding ACA to a bill to not - shut down gov, not I.NM

So if the house - passed it,
[ In Reply To ..]
and the senate doesn't pass it (or even vote on it), it's the GOPs fault the government shuts down? Isn't the senate majority dems? And if by some strange miracle it passes the senate and the president vetoes it and the government shuts down, it's still the GOPs fault? Just trying to get a grasp of the twisted logic here.
Why did GOP attach defunding ACA to bill to not shut down gov? - why not just pass it
[ In Reply To ..]
without the defunding ACA attachment? Did the GOP think this would pass?

If defunding ACA part is not attached, the bill passes, the gov stays open for business, and no blame is to be placed anywhere. Simple, logical.

Attaching something to absolutely ensure it would not pass is obstructionist and counterproductive by the party whose idea it was to attach.
If you look at the polls, the majority of the - country...
[ In Reply To ..]
doesn't want Obamacare, or at least wants it to be postponed until all the wrinkles are ironed out. I don't see where that's obstructionist at all. I see that as congress doing its job for once. I understand that that's not what the dems want, but instead of shutting things down, maybe they should think about negotiating for once instead of just trying to get their way on everything.
Again, the Reps attached the defunding of ACA. Seems they are the ones who - want everything their way
[ In Reply To ..]
My opinion is the complete opposite of yours. I see the reps as not negotiating on anything... over and over. Everything Obama is met with no.

Again, whether or not the ACA is popular, or who doesn't like it, etc., the Reps attached something to a bill to keep the gov running, knowing with certainty it would not pass the Senate and ultimately could shut down the government, cost a lot of money (Google how much the last shutdown cost), and have terrible repercussions on individuals. That is obstructionism and Americans aren't fooled by it.

But this is a redundant obstructionist tactic by reps... like when Rand Paul attached personhood amendment to flood insurance. Same thing and another recurring example of Rep tactics of trying to get their way on everything, and at the expense of American citizens.
.The House writes up the legislation to bring to Congress for a vote - Truthhurts

The also FUND the government.

The Senate either agrees or NEGOTIATES with the House to get a bill passed. The Senate MAY pass their own plan to the House but it's the House that has the final decision. I haven't seen the Senate negotiate or cooperate with the house for the past 5 years and we all know who the majority is in the Senate. :)

This will be squarely on the dems if there is a shutdown, no matter how they try to spin it.
the polls say the opposite, though - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
"So who would get the blame?

Only a third would consider the president responsible for a shutdown, with 51% pointing a finger at Republicans in Congress, up from 40% who felt that way in March, the last time both sides were at loggerheads.

"The difference between March and September is due to independents," said CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. "In the spring, only 36% of independents said the congressional Republicans would be responsible for a shutdown, while 40% felt that way about President Obama. Now, 53% of independents point the finger at the GOP and only a third say that Obama would be primarily responsible for a shutdown."

I don't see how this is on the Dems when the House Reps refuse to pass a clean, simple, keep the government open bill.

This one is different. It was bipartisan, and this one is - connected to govt shutdown.
