They'll follow their boy king anywhere he'll take them, even into the depths of hell, which is where our country is headed under his leadership.

I think I see the disconnect here. - sm

This poster simply failed to recognize the "depths of hell," to borrow their phrase, that their boy George, that is King George, let's just call him King Boy George, had already plunged the country down into when our boy king, as they like to call him, took the crown that they mistakenly thought they should be entitled to in perpetuity.

I can only imagine the whining and derogatory insults they'll be spewing if a woman takes the crown. God bless our Queen!
Yeah, we libs caused Ebola, and brought it - here to get rid of all the Texans.

Texas Presbyterian scorecard on following CDC protocols - batting zero

[ In Reply To ..]
Federal and state governments publish general information, disease control guidelines, recommendations and protocols, conduct research and maintain comprehensive national, regional and local statistical databases. What programs and policies individual hospital administrations adopt and observe is determined at the institutional level.

Texas Presbyterian failed to communicate the most basic of vital medical history information on Mr. Duncan's initial ER presentation, retracted it's initial EHR blame shift and later issued statements about lessons learned and policy changes. They lied outright in their initial reports by characterizing Mr. Duncan's 103 degree fever as "low-grade" when trying to justify sending him home with a number of other ebola symptoms. Consequently, he exposed his family and dozens of community residents to the communicable stage of the disease and his diagnosis, supportive care and drug treatments were delayed 2-3 days, which undoubtedly contributed to his death. Meanwhile, underfunded, unprepared locals leaders stumbled all over themselves trying to figure out how to put CDC quarantine and clean-up protocols in place.

Now Texas Presbyterian administration is scrambling to identify their breach in CDC protocol that exposed and infected one of their own, despite government's repeated warnings that health care workers are at the highest of risks. Therefore, it would be foolish to trust the idiots in charge of this hospital, not to mention state and local politicians who prioritize big business interests and sports stadiums over public health funding.

So, One person in the US has died of Ebola, and one other has contracted it. Ooooh, scary.

Say, did you know that while GWB was president, over 64,000 Americans died of the flu? Thanks, Obama!

Sheesh. Get a grip, people.

Question for you. - sm

I believe you said last week that you were not a medical transcriptionist and that you were on this board just to rile up (paraphrased) the conservatives. Why is that?
Never mind, I found the message about this - sm

A nurse at Dallas Hospital - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
CDC says there was a breach in protocol that has caused infection.

Nurse was not one of 48 being monitored.

She was self-monitoring, as instructed, and came in at the earliest signs of symptoms with a fever.

Ok, so there was a breach by the nurse... - sm

I guess that means the airport screeners, who are so well trained in all matters of health care, will not be breaching any protocols and will have absolutely no risk of exposure to this virus that is turning out to be easier to contract than HIV/AIDS. Okay, I think I have it straight now.

Screening is performed by trained - medical staff

after passengers from affected countries complete the questionnaire and are given symptom and monitoring information.  Medical staff checks for fever, symptoms and does a public health assessment in a separate quarantine section near customs intake.  Travelers are referred for further evaluation as needed.  Reports have not yet identified what type of breach occurred or when, so blaming the nurse is premature.  Airport personnel are experienced in operating a variety of state-of-the-art security devices, interpreting federal policies and protocols and carrying them out.

An indefinite flight ban is not nearly as feasible given the number of possible flight connections, the amount of international cooperation it would entail and the potential effects it could have on the global economy.

Why did the monitoring list end at Sept 28 - when he didn't die for

11 days later?

It is being discussed that perhaps all hospitals are not capable of handling this degree of containment and that maybe patients should be transferred to "more capable" hospitals.

NBC Camerman is improving and Spanish nurse is improving.

Communication And Ebola Patient In DallasOct 01, 2014
Today's Ebola news shocker (not!!) is that information obtained from a diligent and thorough nurse failed to make into clinical decision making, and the patient was sent home with antibiotics for undiscovered Ebola. Properly handled, the patient would have gone into isolation at that time, and been treated with appropriate supportive measures, and not spent 2 additional days exposing others to the virus. If many more Ebola cases occur as a result of this totally commonplace error on the p ...

Learning About The 5 Dallas Officers Lost, Any ONE Of WhomJul 09, 2016
I am THOROUGHLY DISGUSTED with the race-baiting hate-mongers on the left, who make hay (money, votes, influence) out of very isolated instances of police misconduct. We have 800,000 or so sworn officers in this country.  Figure conservatively that they have 4 significant citizen contacts per shift.  That's 3,200,000 citizen contacts, of which only a very few have adverse implications. America's police forces ARE NOT - and I repeat - ARE NOT RACIST.  In fact, police dep ...
