C-Span: The House is in recess right now because

Posted: Oct 3, 2013

SHOTS WERE FIRED OUTSIDE THE CAPITAL. They are on lockdown.

That's what vicious rhetoric gets you. Now, don't you think duct tape should be used on some mouths for uttering such vile comments against the other party? Words like Terrorist, anarchist, hostage takers, bombs strapped to their chests, jihadists (used yesterday), extortionists, blah, blah, blah.

This is no new that the media hasn't picked up on it yet.

;

its about time. - sick of this government

[ In Reply To ..]
I hope this is the beginning of a revolt against this dysfunctional government. They all need to go on both sides. Maybe they will all run underground and forget their way back.

Its time we get some people in there that care more about running the country then making points for their party.

There ya go, TH. Who's party is promoting and supporting - violent revolt

[ In Reply To ..]
and survivalist nonsense with all their fear-mongering tactics? Here's the result, a proud pronouncement, rooting for revolt by any means necessary.

Yeah, I guess we should all lay down and just let - communism take over

[ In Reply To ..]
After all, we should not have a say on what happens in our lives. We need to be told when to get up, what to eat, what to wear, etc etc.

Just keep watching the Kartrashians and Housewives, and everything will be okay.

Just as long as we preserve freedom of hate speech - used against the president?

[ In Reply To ..]
Michelle's terrorist fist bump? Obama is a constitutional anarchist? Boehner's hostage-taking accusation leveled at the president? The Tea Party's Obama-is-a-terrorist T shirts? Alex Jones' references to Obama's "jihadist army" being called out to enforce martial law?

You mean like that?

No, all the Democrats who made those remarks over the budget bill recently (no msg) - Truthhurts

[ In Reply To ..]
,

I see. TH's duct tape solution is only for the dems, huh? - No surprises here. nm

Well, I never heard the Republicans spew such nasty verbiage - Truthhurts
[ In Reply To ..]
The Democrats have called Republicans terrorists, ransom takers, Taliban, jihadists and hostage takers. Yet these same Democrats,NEVER call a real terrorist a terrorist. What's up with that?

It was a House Democrat George Miller who called the Republicans jihadists just yesterday. Pelosi, Reid, Obama, Hoyer, Durbin, Schumer, Waters, Wasserman-Schultz, Jackson-Lee, and others are all included in that group. If you don't believe me, go to C-Span 1,2, or 3 and watch some of the videos.

This whole business of non-negotiation is ridiculous. That's not what Congress or the President are supposed to do. They better wake up and soon...and I'm talking about the Democrats. The House has been passing bills over the past 5 years but they got trampled by Reid, tabled, and filed in the wastebasket. That is NOT negotiating.

BTW, C-Span just stated that the House passed a Veteran's spending bill earlier this year but the Senate never acted on it. Reid sat on it. Yet the Democrats are telling everyone that the House never sent anything over to them.

NOTE: House Democrats just voted AGAINST the Veteran Appropriation bill H.J. Res. 72. by 155 votes but thank heavens it passed because of the Republicans. Look up what it comprises.
No, they reserve all their vitriol for the president. - sm

Whom do you think you are talking to? The internet is chock full of winger diatribes against him and his party. How many hundreds of links would you like to see? Just throw down a number. I'd be more than happy to accommodate, starting with a stroll through MTStars recent archives. Who knows? I may be able to unearth a couple of citations coming straight from the horse's mouth. BTW, I already gave you examples of republicans using those same terms against democrats.

Just because you disingenuously claim you never "heard" it happen, doesn't mean it didn't. From my experience, one of the first requirements of being part of the TP is a highly evolved acute sense of selective hearing, followed by the close second requirement of a talent for rewriting history.

No, not like that. terrorists, jihadists, hostage-takers, extremists, and racists - Like that

[ In Reply To ..]
Disgusting and over the top. It needs to stop.

Yeah... let's follow the TP example... like when they put crosshairs on Gabby - Giffords district

[ In Reply To ..]
totally nonviolent dontcha think?

And after that - incident...

[ In Reply To ..]
wasn't everybody encouraged to dial back the rhetoric? Guess as a country we all have too short of an attention span because now republicans are jihadists, strapping bombs to their chests, holding guns to heads, anarchists, arsonists, etc.

BTW, Hilary Clinton also used crosshairs on her political website as well, so it wasn't just a TP thing.

What takes the cake is Harry Reid's vile choice to not fund cancer treatment for 200 children, and then insulting the reporter who questioned him about it, and stating that he was willing to let that child die. He ought to resign for that remark and if he was a republican the media would hound him until he did, and the GOP would make him resign, but because he is a democrat, the media will spin and spin, he will get away with it.

How I wish we had an honest media in this country. Of course, if we did, I doubt there would be one democrat in the entire electorate.

In case you don't believe he said this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0lFyFJeZSY

I'm sorry. I didn't hear him say anything about letting - a child with cancer die

[ In Reply To ..]
Listen to the whole clip. Would you please post the time marker location where he said that? Otherwise, we will have to call out your claim as the falsehood that it is.

All I heard him talk about was the deadly games the cons are playing with ALL Americans' lives who are affected by the shutdown, children in NIH cancer trial included.

Third Court Overturns Obama Recess AppointmentsJul 17, 2013
A third federal appeals court ruled Wednesday that President Obama violated the Constitution last year when he made recess appointments to the National Labor Relations Board, adding more weight to the case as it goes before the Supreme Court in the justices’ next session. That ruling rejects Mr. Obama’s own interpretation that he can make appointments whenever he deems the Senate to be unable to give him “advice and consent” on his nominees. Full article ...

Appeals Court Strikes Down Obama Recess AppointmentsJan 25, 2013
Really? You mean the courts are finally going to start doing their job? A federal appeals court said Friday that President Obama overstepped his authority with a series of recess appointments to the National Labor Relations Board. The case may wind up in the Supreme Court and determine how far the president can go in appointing people whose nominations would be filibustered in the Senate. The result could affect the standing of other Obama appointees, such as the head of the president's ...

Watching Healthcare Law Implementation On C-SpanAug 01, 2013
Why do the Democrats on the House Ways and Means Committee insist on wasting time by making speeches? They are on that committee to ask questions of anything that comes before them (not just the new healthcare laws), not make political speeches.  The same thing happens all the time. The Republicans are asking questions, while the Democrats make speeches on how mean the Republicans are. I don't find the questions mean or trying to "undo" the law. In fact, I think these are questions mo ...

There are a bunch of people in the gallery that have been causing a commotion. The Chair is getting furious since this is dragging out longer than it's supposed to and has now stated and told the Capitol Police that prosecution may take place. Respect for the process (not talking about the politicians) has to take place in an orderly way. Just because some don't like what ...

House Leaders Plan Separate House VoteMar 20, 2010
Democrats edged closer to finding 216 lawmakers to back a landmark health-care bill Saturday, as party leaders and White House officials were working on an executive order that they hope will win over a substantial number of antiabortion Democrats. The House Rules Committee continued its session on the third floor of the Capitol, where the panel is tasked with setting the terms of Sunday's floor debate. House leaders have decided to take a separate vote on the Senate version of the healt ...

Mom's HouseJul 21, 2011
Okay I just want some of your opinions please. My mother who lived next to me started dating a man on Valentines Day. Two weeks later they informed me they had went and got married. I had no idea they were going to do this. She had been seeing him 2 weeks for crying out loud. I was in shock but got on with it. Would You Get Her House Cleaned?Oct 17, 2009
I took my grown daughter out the other night for an early birthday present. She asked for a laptop computer for her birthday/Christmas present- said it could cover both. She left for vacation today, will be gone a week. I kidded her yesterday and told her what I was getting her for Christmas was a good thorough house clea ...

I Was In A Union As An In-house MT.Feb 23, 2011
We were lumped in a group with the housekeepers and the nurses. Union membership was mandatory for employment and dues were taken directly out of our paychecks. Our local reps said they could only negotiate for 1 group a year out of our 3 departments, but every time our turn came around the nurses weren't happy and the union would negotiate for them again. Of course this was 10 years ago, but we made from $8.10 per hour to a max of $12.39 per hour, but we did only have to pay $50 a ...

White House HidJul 19, 2014
Huge Spike of Families Crossing Border The Daily Caller:   "New data shows the White House has painted a false picture of the Central American migration by hiding a huge spike in “family units” who are illegally crossing the Texas border. The data, which was dumped by the U.S. border patrol late Friday afternoon, shows that inflow of youths and children traveling without parents has doubled since 2013, to 57,525 in the nine months up to July 2014.
