Biden wins debate by 20 points with undecided

Posted: Oct 11, 2012

Biden was obviously up on the facts and ready to stop Ryan on the vague, no detail mularky.

;

He was commanding. Ryan had all the confidence - of a kid on test day. sm

[ In Reply To ..]
It was elder statesman versus callow youngster. No contest.

Commanding? You mean rude, interrupting, arrogant - okay then. Biden was plain disrespectful. nm

nm

Romney was interrupting last - week. (sm)

[ In Reply To ..]
Did you speak up last week against his rude, interrupting nature with both the moderator and the President of the United States?
Of course not. The butthurt only makes an appearance - when their guy is on the receiving end.

xx
No, Romney was never rude! Biden was condescending - smirky, nasty... an embarrassment! nm

nm
The big difference was that - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
Romney may have interrupted the moderator, but he didn't continually talk over the president. Joe Biden talked over Ryan so much you didn't hardly get to hear part of what he said. You can't debate if you won't shut up to hear what the other person has to say.

Ryan and Biden - pookbina

[ In Reply To ..]
Have to agree, Biden seemed like the elder more knowledgable and experienced statesman. Ryan seems like a nice guy, but too young and inexperienced to help run the country.

Says who? What poll? Just curious. - nm

According to a tweet from CNBC's verified Twitter account, an after-debate poll shows Ryan crushing Biden 56 - 36%

A CNN focus group of undecided likely voters split their votes evenly. 1/3rd Biden, 1/3rd Ryan, 1/3rd Undecided.

CNN just announced the results of their scientific post-debate poll. That also showed Ryan winning 48 - 44%.

You type crazy talk - anon

We will see who was full of mularky - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
come fact check time. Regardless of who was being truthful and who wasn't...I must admit it was kinda annoying for Biden to keep interrupting and not letting Ryan talk during his time. It was like watching Bill O'Reilly continually interrupt someone after he just asked them a question. ANNOYING!!!

Just saw 2 polls saying Ryan won. Its a draw, but - Biden lied about Libya and lost my vote! nm

Hmm, Libya, women's rights in USA.... - Hiya07

[ In Reply To ..]
hmmm, which is more important. Ryan LIED about his true position which is abortion, no exceptions, no abortions under ANY circumstances. Furthermore, Romney lied about A LOT last week. Finally, moron Romney puts out a statement and holds a press conference before the president of the USA when the Libya event was still unfolding. If you cannot wrap your brain around that AT THE TIME of the attack, the white house did not know they had asked for more protection through a state department moron who did not act on it and/or pass up the chain of command and whose head should roll AND that these said morons were feeding the white house intelligence as events were unfolding, get your brain checked. FYI, I don't support abortion for myself, never had one, but Biden succinctly echoed my viewpoint on that subject.

Ryan didn't lie about abortion. You never heard his answer. - backwards typist

[ In Reply To ..]
Ryan believes life begins at conception. Abortion okay for rape, incest, or life of the mother. He doesn't believe taxpayers should fund abortions. He stated that LAST NIGHT. Please turn your hearing aid up.

As for Libya, the signs were all there and most of the TV commentators knew it was a terrorist attack BEFORE Romney even said anything. The idea that Obama kept campaigning throughout the attack tells me a lot about him. Even after the first hearing, the White House was going by their first statement of a protest gone bad. Yeah...can you imagine a protest in this country also consisting of rocket grenade launchers?

The White House didn't know they asked for more protection? Then they're really out of touch. Can it be a case of GOVERNMENT BEING TOO LARGE? :-)

I heard the answer - Hiya07
[ In Reply To ..]
The answer Ryan gave was Romney's position, duh. Get your facts straight. Ryan's position has always been no abortion under ANY circumstances. As far as you thinking TV commentators knew the facts at the time, that says a lot about you. The embassy had put out a wire before this incident about the damn video, so it's not a far stretch to think that the video may have had anything to do with it. Romney's initial comments were in regard to the video, saying that we should never apologize for our morals, blah, blah, blah. If you think the white house is micromanaging everything the state department does, then you obviously also don't know how government works. Can it be a case that your hearing aid is not on?

One thing I noticed, while watching... - (see message)

[ In Reply To ..]
...on CNN (where they were showing the graph at the bottom of the screen, with men's/women's reactions throughout the debate) that the approval lines went up waaaay high while Biden was speaking about the issue of abortion (both men & women went up, but especially women went almost to the top); and when Ryan was speaking about abortion, both lines were very low, almost near the bottom. If, as a lot of experts claim, the women's vote is critical, this seemed to lean better for Biden.

LOL. I think your dreaming and need to wake up to find the news - is not what you think it is

[ In Reply To ..]
I've been searching all over the internet for your so called "20 point" lead. It's nowhere to be found on any site. Even the extreme liberals. So you either can type while you are dreaming or just plain making it up.

Ryan wins the debate by 85 points. See I can do that too.

Still kicking myself for missing the debate - Fanatical Hypocrite

[ In Reply To ..]
I love the debates. I don't even care who wins. I just like to see two politicians accusing the other of lying and then tearing each other apart.

From what I'm seeing here, Biden was rude, arrogant and boastful. Yep, that was definitely Biden then. And Ryan was a smirking creep, constantly touting his own brilliance while coming across as an airhead. Definitely the Ryan I know. And I missed the whole spectacle.

I love Biden. The man has been a constant source of hilarity. Telling people in wheelchairs to stand up, forgetting he's white, insulting large swaths of America. I don't want to give him up for Ryan. Ryan was only funny for the first day after Romney picked him and during his convention speech (where he finally explained the Romney-Ryan policy of making the country better, somehow...) Oh, and I did enjoy when he dug Ayn Rand up, married her and then divorced her when opinion polls showed that their relationship was testing poorly among people who know anything about Ayn Rand.

My basis for judging vice-presidents is purely on comedy. Dick Cheney still makes me laugh. He thought his friend's face was a wing clipped quail trapped under a bush. He had his own assassin death squad that didn't even report to the president. A man sized top secret safe in his room. He was both metaphorically and medically heartless. You don't get better. Sadly, the Bush years are gone forever.

Now look at our country. Our president can form a full sentence without making up or mispronouncing a word. As long as he isn't in a debate or near Eric Holder, Obama is a great orator. And his lies are so mundane for a president. He's too bland. The Tea Party promised me an anti-Christ Hitler and all I got was this lousy Obama as Fidel Castro T-shirt.

OMG--You are too funny!! nm - made me smile

[ In Reply To ..]
nm

Your president can only form a full sentence if a - teleprompter is there

[ In Reply To ..]
And yes, he mispronounces words but who cares. Obama is only a great orator if there is a teleprompter. He has proven time and time again he cannot think on his own without one.

I'm sure CSpan will post a video of the debate. - backwards typist

CBS Snap poll - RR2012

Ok, so after much digging, I finally found this:

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-250_162-57531059/poll-biden-takes-debate-over-ryan-uncommitted-voters-say/?tag=cbsnewsCategoryStacksArea;stackPolitics

Heehee--they only polled 431 people!! Methinks that is not enough of a population segment to really get a read on the overall opinion of the country.

Maybe it's a simple as more democrats watch CBS?

But wait, there's more! - RR2012

[ In Reply To ..]
Also according to this poll, only 36% of respondents have made a decision while 64% are still undecided.

So while most of this group of 431 may have liked Biden better, he still didn't sway a majority--and that's what counts the most.

Normally in a democracy the government works to expand its citizens' rights.  Look what has been going on in the GOP held states:  Voter suppression, curtailment of women's rights by banning abortion and closing clinics even though constitutionally a right (at least for now), union busting, replacing duly elected officials with appointed city managers, etc.  It is very likely that within the next four years the new president will have the job of replacing up to 4 new sup ...

Does It Matter Which Party Wins? Jul 02, 2011
Congratulations!! People's World Endorses Obama and Dems in 2012. Does it matter which party wins? I am disappointed too with some aspects of the Obama administration's domestic and foreign pol ...

Since Truman, no incumbent has been reelected with a poll number below 49% at this point in the election cycle.  I am omitting Bush 2, who had 48% but whose reelection ultimately had to be decided by the courts so I think you have to simply toss this election out when looking at voter trends.
