Since Truman, no incumbent has been reelected with a poll number below 49% at this point in the election cycle. I am omitting Bush 2, who had 48% but whose reelection ultimately had to be decided by the courts so I think you have to simply toss this election out when looking at voter trends.

As a general rule, undecideds almost always break away from the incumbent, and they will surely do so in the current environment - both globally, domestically and economically - in all of which areas Obama has been...

...a TOTAL BUST.

We have Fast & Furious.

We have global retreat, the collapse of American influence around the world, terrorist attacks, and the slaughter of embassy personnel.

We have Obamacare.

We have the "fiscal cliff".

We have the world's largest DEBTOR NATION that has mortgaged the future of our children to the Chinese and others who have no interest in our children whatsoever.

We have more people on food stamps, on disability - AND IN POVERTY - than at any time in history.

We have a mysterious, secretive president who plays golf, cavorts with movie stars and TV hosts, and who doesn't even attend his intelligence briefings - much less attending to the JOB of being PRESIDENT.

Bye-bye, Barry. I hope you can find a job when you leave the White House!

On the other hand, we have never had a president who has written off half of the electorate as bums either. Much less one in recent history who has had a foreign policy of just kick the can down the road and hope things get better by themselves. Or one who has polled so poorly with minority groups, in particular latinos and women. Or one who has told so many blatent lies in combination with no substantive plan of his own.

The best Romney et al can do is hope they can rig the vote, and granted, that is the most successful thing they've done.

changed my mind big time after seeing more of him. The man is one of those people who are good at one thing and otherwise dumb. I've worked under a bunch of them.

In this case, this one was good at making money in an era when many fortunes were made by many, but it's lavish spending of his own money, and nothing else, that's brought him this far in politics. He is appallingly ignorant, small minded, and without even basic common sense, as evidenced by the trouble he keeps getting himself into. His team is actually hiding him away from public view right now.

God help us if this sadly limited man becomes our President. It could still happen.

That post brought to mind my indignation last election when Hillary and Obama were debating. The moderator asked her almost every question first, which she answered brilliantly in my opinion, then moderator would ask Obama the same, who would basically just repeat what Hillary had said. Did they really see eye to eye on everything, or did he just ride her coattails right into the White House? I felt like she was not given a fair shake at the debates.

I have to agree with you there. I do have to say that I voted for Obama to keep her out. She was one of the worst first ladies, had absolutely no experience to be president. I did not and do not like her policies. I don't agree with what she thinks of the people in the country. So any vote to keep her out of the WH I did. However, I agree that I do not think she was treated fairly in the debates. I thought she won hands down on everything over Obama, which was a scary thought. I knew Obama as a senator and his voting records and I listened to him question people (forget what that was for) and I liked him. Little did I really know him. But no, she was not treated fairly at the debates, and he just sailed through like a breeze with nobody questioning anything about him. Probably because he was already chosen to be the president, so just make it look effortless.

Polls are polls. If that is true and I'm not saying it is because you didn't say which poll and you didn't provide a link to prove what you wrote, but if you are reading that in a poll, guarantee when Romney is ahead you'll be saying the poll is bogus.

relative who has the highest paying job in the family, and we have a BIG family. He just cannot grasp anything to do with liberals doing anything wrong. He really cannot.
