of this climate change issue. About once every six months, it seems to me, one side or the other will come out and "debunk" the other side. There are no facts. It is supposition on both sides. Both sides can present "scientific" suppositions, but in truth, no one really knows how rapidly it is happening; history shows that the earth has gone through these cycles before and there is nothing to prove it is not just going through another one.

I haven't seen anything convincing enough from either side to either discount the panic or support the panic. One thing I do know though...it is worth big bucks in grants trying to prove it or disprove it. Follow the money. Al Gore got rich off this. Just sayin.

with $$$ being offered to scientists and economists to undermine climate change.

With so many professing to be upset with their children and grandchildren being saddled with the budget deficit, isn't it a bit odd that they don't seem to care if there is a livable planet for them as well? While they would never think of feeding their kids chemicals or smoking, they are willing to sacrifice the entire ecosystem. Oh well, I will be gone by then.

Frankly, if we don't get the budget deficit in control, we are going to have a bigger mess on our hands than climate change and you WILL still be here by then.

I still vote for the economy. That will have more current effects than global warming which you so eloquently stated "oh well I won't be here" when whatever happens happens. When is that anyway? That it happens? That the world goes blooey...or we have massive tidal waves (we already do) or earthquakes (we already do) or more hurricanes and tornadoes (we already do)....?

Sorry...I did not see anything in what you posted or in all of Al Gore's work or anyone else that convinces me this is not a gimmick to make money.

In very short searching I saw sites claiming scientific evidence that the seal level will rise a matter of inches in the next CENTURY. Yup, you're right, you'll be gone and so will your kids. Why not give them a good life and strong economy while they're here?

That is tongue in cheek...sorry, I just don't buy the climate change is more immediately serious than the economy....

We will have to. I'm not sure how it can be thought that what we are doing isn't affecting the earth and the climate, but cleaning up how we do things should make sense to everyone in any case. It has been in the news since 1957 and suspected for over 100 years. It's time we really concentrated on doing something.

Fix the economy first. Because what they are suggesting to fix global warming will put the final nails in the coffin. Research the cost of what you are talking about and the end results. Kill the economy, save the planet. Makes sense to me...NOT.

Why are we supposedly the main culprits of the supposed global warming? Why do we have to take on this problem mostly by ourselves?

It is a known fact that China has a larger population and less regulation on clean air (do you remember the Olympic games over there?)

It is also a known fact that Central and South America are not helping the problem by clear cutting the forests without regard to their environment.

It is also a known fact that there are periods of warming and cooling on this planet that has been going on for millions of years. The temperature has gone up how many degrees for how long (since Al Gore started spouting about global warming)? I'm not sure but I think it only warmed 10 degrees in 100 years.

Al Gore does not care about global warming at all. Do a search. He's one of the biggest consumers of electric and fuel in this country. All he is doing is making money off the scare tactics.

There are too many 'ifs' and contrasting opinions on global warming for me to take it seriously yet.

As for tornadoes, hurricanes, wild fires, etc., it depends on if it's El Nina or El Nino. Right now, it's El Nina which means a cold, snowy winter for those on the east coast and heavy snow and cold for the rest of the country. El Nino gives the east coast nice winters and perfect summers....at least that's what I notice.

Because we had the moral and financial strength to do the right things. We have lost that world standing because of things like torture and war for self-serving purposes. We really need to work on these global collective problems without regard to greed and blame.
