...and I mean ANY guns down to and including pellet guns. There are some other things that I would also prohibit them from owning, such as anything that can be used in making bombs, etc. No timers, no mercury or remote switches, no radio transmitters, no primers, etc.. So sorry, but if you're on a TERROR WATCH LIST there's a reason for it - or should be (see below).
This makes perfect sense, so I don't see why Trump's willingness to consider this should be raising any objections whatsoever from anyone - including some Republican politicians (who, interestingly, don't care for Trump much anyway).
Put it the other way round and ask yourself how much sense this makes: "People who are on the terror watch list SHOULD be able to own guns."
How can anyone possibly support a ridiculous position like that?
The problem, though, is that there have been some VERY bad mistakes made in putting people on the watch or no-fly list, and the whole process seems to be very subjective. No one seems to know who makes these decisions, or why people like Mateen are taken off the list, etc.
So, for my full support there would have to be much more clarity and certainty about the decision-making process, and a means - if mistakes are made (WHEN mistakes are made) - for citizens to receive due process in this matter because it does involve the suspension of fundamental rights, not only the 2nd amendment, but the right to move about freely, etc.
