Did you all know about the fine being $95 for the (sm)

Posted: Aug 28, 2013

first year if you don't have insurance.  After lots and lots of people get their subsidies, insurance companies with slowly go under, second year fine goes up, and do you know what the fine is after the 2016 election?  $695.  Wonder how many low information voters don't know this.  Lots, I'd wager.  On to single payer, just as planned.  Many have been duped.

;

$695--for the well-to-do instead of paying in? Many sponges - will accept and consider it a good deal.

Contemptible, but they will.

Now I regret to have to inform you that as an MT, if you are, you're probably so poor these days that your discounts will drop your penalty to almost nothing. And the rest of the nation will have to carry you.

IF you allow it. Please note, you ARE free to refuse to seek medical care you haven't really paid for, though. Feel free.

For crap care? I doubt it. - nm

Any hard evidence to support this - ill-advised prognostication?

[ In Reply To ..]
especially given the fact of how much Americans love their Medicare coverage, which they steadfastly guard against repeated efforts by wingers to privatize it?
The OP's question was did you know? Did you? - No one is saying. If not, are you embarrassed?

she wasn't responding to the OP, for goodness sake - are you embarrassed ?

She was responding to the poster who said it would be "crap care", and asked for evidence to support the crap care allegation. If you must be rude, make sure you're accurate! lol!
Oh, I know who she was responding to. I'm the OP and I notice (sm) - OP

she doesn't want to answer that question. I'm not the one who is embarrassed. It's those who can't claim they knew about it. They can't admit they were duped. LOL
Let me dispel you of these misconceptions. - I was not responding to

your OP because it didn't merit the time or effort. I responded to the low-info nature of the "crap care" crack.

FYI, I followed the evolution of ACA from the moment of its inception and was well aware of the penalties once the bill passed. Like the poster below observed, this is HARDLY news to anyone who has been paying attention to the health care debate since, what (?), 1993 when Bill and Hillary took a swing at it, then again in 2007 when it was a hot topic during the presidential campaign debates after W turned a blind eye to it during his reign.

Penalties for slackers do not embarrass me. I support them wholeheartedly and applaud them. I have no problem admitting that or with my support for ACA with regard to any other of its provisions. No dupe zone here. My eyes and ears are wide open.

I trust we're clear on this by now, aren't we?
you do? - words to the wise

Yes, I knew--years ago now. This isn't a secret. It's - key to the whole program.

People who attack Obamacare don't seem to understand that healthcare can't be free. Certainly not BlueCross and Kaiser, which under Obamacare only have new government-imposed rules that keep them from cheating their customers. We still buy private insurance, but now everyone who CAN pays so that everyone can receive.

I'm sure I missed a few I know who know, but I think you can get the general drift.

I hear they are pretty famous for their "selective" reporting on their agenda-laden issues, which also make substantial contributions to the "stupidity that abounds" in the winger camps.
So what? What is not edited still shows the idiocy. - It still abounds - low info votes too.

No,health care cannot be free - but tell me if this law is enacted it should be for ALL the people - not exemptions for Congress and the unions.....that alone sends a message - and my family is one of those who was barely able to pay the premiums we had, much less try to pay the new ones this program will put in place. And there will be FREE healthcare - just ask the illegal immigrants.
Ummm, what exemptions for Congress and unions? - Please cite credible evidence.

I know. The RW never met a manufactured controversy they didn't like.

If your family is having problems with existing premiums, it is highly likely it will qualify for subsidies that will lower its current health care premiums under Obamacare. Something to look forward to.

While it is true that some of America's most impoverished will qualify for free basic health care services under OC, illegal immigrants are not among them. That said, there are also regional locales within the states that OPT to provide medical services to its undocumented residents as a compassionate and SENSIBLE public health measure.

I am proud to say I live in one of those counties. In fact, I receive my own excellent medical care right alongside them since I am not currently able to afford private health insurance. There is NOTHING offered to me or to them within that system (on taxpayer dime) that comes for free, though the care is accessible and is means-tested/affordable. There are free alternative medical services provided to uninsured AND undocumented residents in my area that are bankrolled by private donations and various charity and religious organizations. I trust you don't have a problem with private citizens directing their funds toward that end by choice, do you?

New Yorkers Who Don't Vote Should Pay $10 Fine. Mar 19, 2017
legislation this week that would establish “compulsory voting” in the state and punish those who don’t vote with a $10 fine. On the face of it, it looks a lot like Australia’s compulsory voting law. Wait a minute. I thought people can’t afford to get an identification form, like a license, to prove they are eligible to vote. So how the heck can they afford a fine. She hates the poor! One of the Kennedys thinks the govt should own our organs by default. I guess if the govt ...

As A Conservative And Gun-owner I'm Fine With RestrictingJun 17, 2016

This makes perfect sense, so I don't see why Trump's willingness to consider this should be ...

To Be Honest, I'd Be Fine If We Split The CountryDec 08, 2015
Split it top to bottom in the middle so each new country has a coastline, and borders with Canada and Mexico.  Let the liberals migrate to Liberalania, and conservatives to Conservania.  Independents can choose, but the choice is irrevocable.  Then, let's see which nation prospers and which does not. First, I know where most independents will choose to go, and it ain't Liberalania.  Second, I advise Conservania, as its first official act, to build a very, very, ve ...

Oscars Security: Looks Like The Hollywood Jerks Are Fine WithFeb 18, 2017

What's A Good Conditioner For Fine, Limp, Tangly Hair?Jan 17, 2010
I've always had troublesome hair - thin, fine, limp, tangles at every turn of my head.  Conditioners are a must or I could never comb it at all.  Most conditioners are too thin, runny and wimpy for my hair, and it takes me forever to comb it out (my hair is really long, down to my fanny, and straight as a board).   Every time I find a product that works in my hair, they take it off the market, it drives me nuts!  My current product is Pantene conditio ...
