You know how you've seen those advertisements that you can get better insurance, weight loss, or whatever using "this one simple trick?" Well, this is one simple trick that won't cost you more than $1.00!
I am short, and have always hated how my shoulder belt in the car cuts across my throat and threatens to strangle me if I had an accident, not to mention how uncomfortable it is to have it riding up over my bosom. I had gone to the store and found a device, which only cost about $3.00 which worked for awhile but kept coming undone and just was more trouble than it was worth. Then I dreamed up the perfect solution. . .
A cat collar from the dollar store! Just put it over the buckle end of the seatbelt before you click it, and there you have it, infinitely adjustable, and keeps my shoulder belt right between my bosoms where it's supposed to be! I wish there was a way to make money off this idea because there's so much need for it, but, hey, just wanted to share it!

I put one on the handle of my rolling luggage, because I'm tall and I don't like leaning over to reach the too-short handle. The collar extends it. I use a baby gate to keep cats out of the kitchen, and I attach the gate to a table on one side using a small dog collar. Years ago, when I had a horse, I found nylon dog collars made better blanket buckles than the ones that came with the blanket. Really cute, sparkly collars (especially with studs or spikes), make cute costume accessories when worn as a choker necklace. Two collars tied together can make a makeshift pet harness. I also use tiny ones to wrap around computer cables to keep them together, and use the D-ring on the collar to hang the cables up out of the way under my desk. You can also attach a dog collar to the outside of a backpack to hang a water bottle or canteen, or to fasten a jacket or bedroll with. If I'm riding my bike wearing boot-cut or flare-bottom jeans, I use an old dog collar to tie around the bottom of the pant leg so the material doesn't get caught in the bicycle chain.
I never even thought of using a collar as a seat-belt adjuster, but that's a GREAT idea! I'm going to have to remember that one.

Yes, it keeps them together - I'm a genius
[ In Reply To ..]It will slide less with a smaller collar, and once in a while it may need a little adjustment but it's so easy. If you try it, though, be careful to remember you're using it when you get out of the car. I've forgotten to take it off the belt and found it on the ground outside the car. I hang it on the gear shift when I'm not using it, by the way.
