My MRI with and without contrast was some abnormalities that I do not understand and can not find answers to my questions. I am very frustrated at this point, to say the least.
The negative findings are as follows:
A 1.2cm focus of increased FLAIR signal is present within the deep left parietal lobe just behind the left lateral ventricle which extends posterior superiorly to the subcortical white matter of the left parietal lobe. There is no surrounding edema. There is no associated enhancement with the lesion although there is abnormal enhancement along the PIA meninges medially. This is best seen on coronal and sagittal contrast enhanced imaging. There is vague hyperintensity to the deep periventricular white matter diffusely within the right lateral temporal lobe at the level of the subcortical white matter which extends mediqally to the choroid of the right temporal horn. There is no underlying FLAIR signal abnormality within the brain parenchyma suggesting that this represents a vascular abnormality.
An 8mm left choroidal cyst is noted. Flow voids are visualized in the intrancranial vertbral basilar and bilateral carotid arteries.
Enhancing blush extends from the subcortical white matter of the right temporal lobe medially to the level of right temporal choroid. This finding most likely represents a developmental venous anomaly or angioma.
A 1.2cm left parietal deep white matter lesion is identified. There is no enhancement associated with this lesion although there is abnormal peel meningeal enhancement noted medial to the lesion. If these are related, this may be related to a region of encephalitis or a second deveopmental venous anomally. The differential for the white matter focus include acute disseminated encephalitis, multiple sclerosis, demyelination of other etiologies include Lyme's disease, vasculitis, a glioma is considered less likely.
The pituitary appears normal.
