CPAP MACHINE (sleep machine)

I got one on Monday and for some reason I take it off at 3am. My DH said he came in later to check on me and I snoring like a logger. When I wore it in the hospital for the test, it was much more comfortable than this one. Maybe I keep the straps too tight so no air will blow out. And maybe after a while I will get more use to it. My DH has had one for about 10 yrs. and I always punched him when his machine made a sound but he hasn't punched me once. In your mind can you imagine 2 people in bed both with masks on their faces. Our cats look at us like what is going on here.

[ In Reply To ..]I use a CPAP machine. I think at the beginning, being that it's kind of difficult to get used to, there is a tendency to take it off in your sleep. Once you get used to it that will stop. My DH and I both use CPAP machines and my dogs could care less, although I have to say when he first started using the CPAP our brown lab was scared of it....not anymore. i've always joked with friends that both of us having CPAPs remind me of a scene in the movie The Abominable Dr. Phibes. heh heh. Good luck with your machine. I think it will make a tremendous difference!

[ In Reply To ..]My dog was frightened of it at first (and she's a German shepherd who doesn't scare easily) but now she comes right up and nudges me awake even though I have it on. I wear earplugs due to snoring DH (he doesn't have sleep apnea), so I don't hear the machine, and he says it doesn't bother him (it's pretty quiet). It was hard to get used to at first, but now I wouldn't want to sleep without it. It's nice not to keep "snorting" myself awake.
