The machine has since been taken out of service. Not all that reassuring. How many more are there?

That voting machine is obviously a Republican.

I'm glad this guy noticed it and the machine has been taken out of service. Hopefully people are paying attention to what has been highlighted as they vote.

I'm the guy who shot the video, hopefully this doesn't get burried. You guys have questions, I have answers.
My wife and I went to the voting booths this morning before work. There were 4 older ladies running the show and 3 voting booths that are similar to a science fair project in how they fold up. They had an oval VOTE logo on top center and a cartridge slot on the left that the volunteers used to start your ballot.

I initially selected Obama but Romney was highlighted. I assumed it was being picky so I deselected Romney and tried Obama again, this time more carefully, and still got Romney. Being a software developer, I immediately went into troubleshoot mode. I first thought the calibration was off and tried selecting Jill Stein to actually highlight Obama. Nope. Jill Stein was selected just fine. Next I deselected her and started at the top of Romney's name and started tapping very closely together to find the 'active areas'. From the top of Romney's button down to the bottom of the black checkbox beside Obama's name was all active for Romney. From the bottom of that same checkbox to the bottom of the Obama button (basically a small white sliver) is what let me choose Obama. Stein's button was fine. All other buttons worked fine.

I asked the voters on either side of me if they had any problems and they reported they did not. I then called over a volunteer to have a look at it. She him hawed for a bit then calmly said "It's nothing to worry about, everything will be OK." and went back to what she was doing. I then recorded this video.

EDIT: There is a lot of speculation that the footage is edited. I'm not a video guy, but if it's possible to prove whether a video has been altered or not, I will GLADLY provide the raw footage to anyone who is willing to do so. The jumping frames are a result of the shitty camera app on my Android phone, nothing more.

Not just changing Obama to Romney. Some where changing Romney to Obama.

Some of those machines were just taken out of the voting process. Some answers were that the calibration was off.

Some people are just trying to cause a commotion and get their 15 minutes of fame. As long as that machine was taken out of service, there's no problem.

Anyway, isn't it against the law to have the cellphones turned on when inside the polling place? This is why intimidation/voter fraud stories were never credited as truthful last election. No proof.

Other people on a site I was reading are stated they were first time voters in this precinct or this state or city, and were asked to show I.D. Well, gee. If that's the case, you need to make sure you have your registration card with you. If you're not registered to vote, you have no right to vote.

I can imagine how many "crank voter fraud" calls the FBI, election committee (or officials) or whoever is in charge of these reports will get.

BTW, the one site showed the President's mural on the wall facing the voter machines. They were court-ordered to cover the whole mural but they covered his face ONLY with 8/11 papers.

inside the polling place. Why would it be? Speaking of no proof, your 15-minutes of fame brush-off comment is completely unfounded. Whether or not there have been organized efforts or widespread tampering problems remains to be seen....especially since we have hours to go before all polls close. I find a video that shows a malfunction like this that I can see with my own two eyes very disturbing. If there are widespread reports of similar incidents, I find it even more disturbing.

I really have to wonder what motivates you to so casually dismiss the possibility of that there may have been deliberate tampering, unless your swift denials help you cope with that gnawing gut feeling you get every time someone posts on the subject of GOP voter suppression that there may actually be something significant in these reports. I believe earlier posters called the idea rotten and sinister. They were right.

bandwagon lately. I'm not "casually dismissing it," but until it IS proven by OFFICIALS and not just by voters themselves, I remain a bit skeptical. It was already explained that some of these machines were calibrated wrong and those machines were taken out of service.

Seeing with your own eyes doesn't show zilch. It doesn't show tampering. It just shows that this person hit one button and another one is showing up.

If it's your idea that it's "deliberate tampering by the GOP," how do you explain the "deliberate tampering by the Dems" in other machines or places?

I got one on Monday and for some reason I take it off at 3am. My DH said he came in later to check on me and I snoring like a logger.
