Since retiring I don't get to bed until 4 AM. I don't wake up until noon so I guess transcription wore me out more than I knew. Does anyone else do this?;
I think some people have different rhythms - MT

With no alarm clock set, that's basically my 'normal' sleep schedule. I work as an IC with flexible hours - I start around noon, take an extended break, and then back to work and and then quit around 2 a.m. Works for me!
No. I can't imagine staying up till 4 am. - What do you do during those early morning hours?

I do take melatonin to sleep and go to bed at 11:30ish. I also like getting up in the morning when everything is fresh about 7:30-8 am.

I either read or watch television. Now I've got the restless leg syndrome to go with it. Anyone have any advice on stopping that. I'm about to go nuts.

No! I get up at 4:30 and get hubby off. I go to bed at 10-ish. I can't get back to sleep once up, but I love my mornings.
Hypoadrenia - MT

Yes, that sounds like hypoadrenia. It is typical to get a "second wind" in the late evening, then "ride it out" til 4 AM or so.
You might look into adrenal support supplements. I take Future Formulations, developed by Dr. James Wilson (an expert in this area). His website is adrenalfatigue.org, but you can purchase his supps at Nourishing Foods.com less expensively.
Take care!

Had To Put My Cat Montgomery To SleepMay 13, 2011Right now i'm trying to escape intellectually but I cried hysterically when I took him in to get euthanized. He has been through a lot with me, an awesome cat, even knew how to play fetch. He stopped eating a couple days ago and started breathing heavily this morning with brownish drool. He is usually very affectionate but wanted to be off by himself and was not responding, even to tuna and I have a way to say his name that makes him perk up and he would not even resp ...
Sleep-eating? Feb 28, 2011Okay, so my husband has been eating in his sleep. Sometimes he remembers doing it, and sometimes he doesn’t. And he eats really weird things. For a while there, he would drink pancake syrup right out of the bottle multiple times a week. Last night, he “woke up” standing over the kitchen sink, eating a plate full of sour cream. Could his sleeping pills be causing this? ...

Cindy, George And Lee Better Sleep Jul 05, 2011I am sure Casey now feels untouchable and no one can get in her way and God help them if they try. I think we will see her again in coming years in the legal system. I am curious as to where she is going to go, what is next for her. She better move to Timbuktu because she is so hated in this country someone might try to kill her themselves. ...

Have To Share After Having The Best Nights Sleep I Have Had In Years ... (sm)Oct 04, 2010Hubby and I bought a new mattress over the weekend, it is a Serta Memory Foam mattress. We actually purchased this at Big Lots of all places, regular $1000.00 and we paid $400.00. I have had problems with my back for the last several years and generally toss, turn and wake up several times during the night, to the point of finally giving up, getting up and getting on the sofa. Last night I was extremely skeptical, went to bed and when I laid down on the mattress I felt like I w ...
Had To Put Our Beloved Golden To Sleep This Morning.May 11, 2011Our golden retriever, Samson, was 12-1/2 years old. He's meant so much to our family. They discovered a tumor a year ago that we chose not to explore because he had renal failure and the anesthesia could have killed him. Evidently it metastasized to his brain and possibly his spine, and a few days ago he lost the use of his hind legs. Last night he started having seizures. He went from 94 to about 72 pounds in the last year. We took him to the vet ER ...

CPAP MACHINE (sleep Machine) Feb 21, 2010I got one on Monday and for some reason I take it off at 3am. My DH said he came in later to check on me and I snoring like a logger. When I wore it in the hospital for the test, it was much more comfortable than this one. Maybe I keep the straps too tight so no air will blow out. And maybe after a while I will get more use to it. My DH has had one for about 10 yrs. and I always punched him when his machine made a sound but he hasn't punched me once. In your mind can you imagine 2 people in ...
