On superbowl day, I will happily be sleeping in, catching up on some laundry folding and hopefully some filing as well.
DH will probably watch just because it's there.

But we always have a Super Bowl party at our house. I love watching the commercials and halftime, and it's a time for our friends to all come over, eat and have a great time. I actually look forward to it every year.

I am not much on pro football period. My family and I are fans of a local college team though. We often watch their games. However, we are planning to have a Super Bowl party Sunday evening with food, snacks, etc. Just an excuse really to get together with a few friends and family and have some good eats and drinks. LOL.
No interest in Superbowl, other than YAY! Football - is finally over til next fall! -sm

BTW - Did you know that Super Bowl Sunday is one of the most DANGEROUS DAYS OF THE YEAR for women in abusive or potentially abusive relationships?
Beer, testosterone & football = bad news.
refuse to watch; not worth what they're paid. - n/m

Remember the Super Bowl placed here in Atlanta before and daughter was ticked. She said it would be ok as long as they did not interrupt her trying to get thru the town as far as traffic.
I've only watched it once in my life - yawner for me

But then, sports in general are not my cup of tea. I just can't relate to how personally involved people get with "their" teams - screaming, yelling, crying, laughing....a bunch of strangers far away can't hear you screaming at a TV set, and wouldn't give a hoot if they did, duh!

Not the game. Hubster usually has a big super bowl party and I enjoy that and the goodies he makes. I usually follow along, just to watch the commercials and see the half time shows, which are SOMETIMES worth seeing. It's fun to hang out with family and friends on an otherwise normal Sunday.
Football tho, NOT for me.

Normally I am not interested at all, however, given the fact that I have lived in the New Orleans area for 21 years, I can't help but be excited about this one! There is no escaping it LOL Win or lose, we are all just very happy they made it this far. WHO DAT!

A Different Super Bowl Matchup: Politics Versus The NFLFeb 02, 2017Sunday night in Houston, is infused with national politics like never before. Fox’s pregame telecast will include an interview of President Trump by Bill O’Reilly. The owner, coach and star player of one team, the highly successful New England Patriots, are friends of the president’s.
Last Sunday, hundreds of people opposed to the president’s immigration policy protested at the convention center where the N.F.L. is holding many of its events for fans. The next day, many players on the ...
PBS Dust Bowl Series - Nov 19, 2012One of the things that struck me was the naivete of the people (especially those not directly affected). When the dust finally got out east, the solutions offered were to "pave the southwest with asphalt" and send all the old junk cars there for wind barriers.
Around here, we will have a very cold day, and people will smirk and say "Sure wish that global warming would come." (or in summer vice-versa). Many people do not understand the increase in strength of these tornadoes an ...

Bohemia Crystal Glass BowlJul 03, 2016I've had this beautiful crystal bowl from the Czech Republic for years. It has never been used and is still in the box. I'd like to put it on the breakfast bar as a decoration, but what do I put in it? It won't be real or fake fruit. Empty? Potpourri? It's quite large, approximately 4 inches high and 9 inches across. Any suggestions would be helpful. ...
ANIMAL PLANET'S PUPPY BOWL X (2014)Feb 03, 2014Did any of you watch Puppy Bowl X on the Animal Planet channel? It was SO adorable, and all of the 4-legged participants are rescue pups and have been adopted. I love all of these little creatures, but my favorite is Mandy, a Dachshund. You can go to the Animal Planet website and vote for your favorite MVP after every airing of the show. It is sure to bring some much-needed smiles to your face. ...
AGAIN SUPER HYPER DOGApr 11, 2011So, guest dog has been having it very, very rough. He is just not happy at all, period. I took my little shih tzu (who is very, very calm and very, very good and very tiny @ a whole 5.5 pounds) and guest dog for a little walk. He got totally spooked by rabbits running everywhere (it's spring, there are rabbits all over the park) and started yanking, screaming, jumping and strangling himself. I let go of my dog's leash (she stays put) and tried to pick him up, he ...
Super Hyper Dog! HELP!Apr 08, 2011My neighbor had to leave urgently last night due to an unexpected death in the family. They left their little dog with me and I guess it's having separation anxiety (not unusual), but his horribile anxiety and skiddishness is rubbing off on my two dogs! I got no sleep last night and didn't know how to comfort him. I crated him (he came with a crate and random, fastly give care instructions), swaddled him, put him in bed with us, put him in a dark room, a lit room, mus ...

Billionaires And Super PACsSep 27, 2012"Remember when President Obama’s re-election campaign and its allies complained about billionaire Sheldon Adelson giving cash to Republican super PACs? They apparently have no such qualms about radical left financier George Soros doing the same thing. Today, news broke that Soros is handing $1 million to Priorities USA Action, President Obama’s chief super PAC. It is no coincidence that this week, President Obama refused to meet again and again with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. ...
Bah Humbug, Super Tuesday. Why Is This Permitted At All.Mar 01, 2016Seems to me each party changes the voting laws to the point where we the people never get the government wants. All of it rigged. I see it more this year. If Trump or Clinton walk away with this, then I say we need to challenge voting systems, especially for president.
This explains Super Tuesday by a historian:

Busted: Sanders Has Benefitted From Super PACS And Feb 17, 2016Sen. Bernie Sanders, the independent-turned-Democratic Senator from Vermont, proudly states pervasively that he does not have a Super PAC and he's not beholden to Wall Street ties in the same fashion as Hillary Clinton. That's true. There is no Bernie super PAC per se, but he does benefit from the super PACs within his coalition. Moreover, he's benefited from indirect Wall Street contributions and regularly attended retreats hosted by their lobbyists, according to the Wall Street ...

Over 280,000 Americans participated in the first round of YouCut, an innovative program allowing the American peo ...
Super-PACS And "Wacko Birds." No, Really.Apr 09, 2015Nixon once said what would prophetically become the mantra of the ultra-neoconservative:
"People react to fear, not love; they don't teach that in Sunday School, but it's true."
I am typically immune to most of those now-tired party tactics, much like the villagers in the story of the "boy who cried wolf." Instead, I have gone past annoyed with it and now straight to mystified by the never-ending gullibility of other villagers, who know there's no actual wolf, but just seem ...

To Zville MT And Other Interested PartiesJan 16, 2012Starting a new thread because the old one is too hard to follow any more.
You've got me doing more googling than I ever intended but that is a good thing. Total cost of health care in this country was up to 2.3 trillion a couple of years ago and undoubtedly higher now. Frivolous law suits accounted for only 1 to 1.5% of the costs and unnecessary tests an even smaller percentage at 6.8 billion. I couldn't copy the link but if you google frivolous lawsuits health care ...

I took my baby to their house so I could check it out and everything looked great.

Reading Material For Those Interested.Jul 14, 2013
Okay, I read this probably three or four months ago. Re-read it again this morning. I think if every person capable of reading in this country read this, there would be screams for justice and calls for the head of mainstream news organizations. Even Obama weighed in on this. For Those Of You Interested In Concierge Medicine, Mar 30, 2017ObamaCare. Working directly with his patients and cutting out the insurance and government bureaucrats, lowers costs for the patients and increases the quality of care they receive.
This shows how free market solutions can cut healthcare costs.
This is the way out of the healthcare trap, and ironically it's being driven by doctors themselves who want to be doctors rather than insurance administrators. So-called "concierge medicine" is available in most areas and the number of doctors ...
