Selfish and Stupid....A rant

I am sooo furious right now. I know this is not anybody's business, but I have to rant! My brother (age 33) and his wife (age 23) have a 15 month old daughter who I adore. They do not have a car. He does not work. She works part-time at Walmart. They live in a motel where my baby, innocent niece has no where to run, no where to play, one path around a bed. When she comes to my house, it is like the tasmanian devil has been unleashed. We have toys and room for her to run. My heart breaks for her. So, what does he do...calls me up today at 10:00 in the morning, after I work 3rd shift and did not get into bed until about 5:00 a.m., asking me can I take his wife to the pregnancy resource center because she took and test and it was positive...ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! This just make me furious that they already have my niece and now another one. How can people be so selfish and stupid!

Okay, I will get off my soap box now...Sorry had to let off some steam, been fired up about this all day since he called me this morning. Thanks for this board and you guys letting me vent!

My son and daughter-in-law are both 21, grandson will be 2 in December and 3 months ago they informed us oh yeah, we're expecting again. My son changes jobs twice a year because "everyone hates him" and she has not held a job since they have been married so apparently if you don't work you might as well have another baby. They are not the most mature people to start with and their marriage is not the most stable, so lets hurry up and add to the stress. I definitely felt the same as you when I first found out but have had time to process it, and even though I still don't agree with them, I can't fault the new baby so will love her when she gets here, pretty much all I can do!

If you can swallow the frustration and I know that it is hard, look at it from the child's point of view. You are providing her with a great place to play and allow her to have a great time when she is with you. I just love men who don't work! Unfortunately, most men like this even if they get a job will come up wiht every excuse under the sun to quit or manage somehow to get fired. If she wants to live her life like this you won't change her mind, but at least you can provide this little girl with some normalcy in the meantime. Have you thought of offering to take her X amount of time during the week? Remember it is not for the adults, it is for her, and I think you are doing a great thing for this little girl. She'll definitely need a positive role model to draw from eventually. Try to hang in there! I think you should have to take a class or pass an exam or something to have children! It may also be the extra money you get if you have more children. Sad, but true!

For the last week I've been suffering right upper quadrant pain, had my gallbladder and appendix out ten years ago. I finally gave in and went to our local Urgent Care Center and after three hours, a RUQ ultrasound, bloodwork and UA, they told me they couldn't figure it out and sent me home with a rx for hydrocodone and instructions to see my PMD the next day and get a referral to GI. Ok...here we go... :-) I am currently just over 21 weeks pregnant and I couldn't be happier! However, I am having a very hard time taking people's "advice" gracefully. Yesterday was payday and I was very excited, of course! My van payment ($242) and my personal loan payment ($95) were due on April 11th. Both of these are through my Navy Federal Credit Union account that I had since I was 16.
